Hey! If you didn’t make it to the end of this video, I wanted to let you know that I am moving to uploading every two weeks for the next while so that I can work on a few things in the background. I appreciate you 💛
I have a good tip for you all: switch locations. if you worked on something in your study, and you feel stuck, go to the living room. or go to your bed and bring your papers there! The point here is not to completely switch to a different location, but to switch it up! This technique seems so silly, but it works every time! Hope this will help some of you!
I will avoid my desk at all cause, but somehow I work better on the living room coffee table with my laptop, on the kitchen counter, or even on the toilet lol. Whatever works! Whos says we need to be at a desk to be productive.
My friend and I would meet up once a week for dinner and hold each other accountable for the projects and tasks we were working on. We called it an 'Accountabilibuddy'. Best thing ever. ;)
I am also feeling like crap and super imposter syndrome and don't know how to make it through the year. We can do this! The video is perfectly timed. Thanks for the video I will def try some of these.
I always start my days with timers. I wake up, then I got 5 mins to do things, then 10, then 15, then 20 and at the most days after that I'm ready to tackle on the day. If my motivation is still low, I go into my day with these timers. :)
Thank you for posting this video. I've been dealing with some grief and being sick and I really needed a very gentle nudge today, this was perfect. Thanks ❤️
This speaks to my soul right now. Thank you for the effort you put into researching different strategies that are not only helpful but that I haven’t thought of before. Hope you are well in yourself x
I'm 27 and life hit me pretty hard. I'm actually coming up with a resource that helped me become the man I am today. I used to live in Miami around street violence, I used to eat $3 a day, 25 cents noodles, expired toast and canned campbell tomato soup. I survived the Boston Marathon Bombing which was a few feet away and I saw all the blood the people screaming and I was alone at 18. I also used to live in a room with no kitchen, trash bag as a window and bugs crawling on me at night. I also took boxing to protect myself and learned how to defend against bigger threats. Now I live in a cabin in the north of Sweden where I go down to a lake to breathe and heal my past and I post on RU-vid to help others who need it the most. I'm going to come up with 20 minute mini documentary and hope people can use my story to help motivate them 💜💜
I have really been struggling lately to get motivated and accomplish things. Even the most mundane task feels like climbing a mountain. Thank you for breaking these down simply and explaining them (and the benefits) so clearly. I can’t wait to try these and start getting shit done again 💖
OMG your point of seeking connection is so crucial! I never truly recognised the importance of this and as an introvert, I operate the same way (feeling unmotivated=tend to isolate). I think my subconscious would often push me connecting though, and I'd always feel better after socialising, sharing ideas and getting out of my own head, especially when feeling a bit meh. Now that you said it out loud, my brain finally made the connection on a conscious level too! Thank you, you made me having a big revelation moment early in the morning! :) The rest of the tips are just as useful too, great video ✨
Heyyy Michelle totally your idea if you want to, but could you one day make a vid of how we sabotage ourselves but mostly on ways to overcome it? (Again totally if possible). Recently learning that I had this, it’s completely changed self development for me in a huge way, I’d love to find more methods for overcoming! Anyways I love your vid they really help me out when things are rough rough.❤❤❤
I’ve been feeling unmotivated for 7 years. I don’t feeling I’m living. Just existing. The social isolation is so true. But I’ve been isolated for so long that I have no friends.
I love putting your videos on in the background to help me stay motivated! Does anyone here have any podcasts that are somewhat the same as this content that they love?
Literally lying in bed feeling like shit when you posted this. Might be a lifesaver! Thanks again for all your work that makes our lives easier and motivates us when we are potato
This video was soo helpful and reassuring! I've spoken to a few friends and they have said they are going through the same thing of feeling unmotivated or just blah, so i think there is something in the air atm, but this video got me moving, connecting and I felt so much better when I took action on the suggestions in this video. Thank you Michelle! 💕💕
Your videos are so gorgeous! Content wise, but also aesthetically! I just started my own RU-vid channel for my health coaching business, and your channel is my inspiration 😊❤️
What’s worked for me in the past: Do a brain dump of everything that’s been weighing on your mind. You might feel unmotivated because you’re overwhelmed. Circle the top 3 things that you can do today that future you would be grateful for
Lately i feel very inspired to get work done but after a few tasks done i get tired and am leaning to balance rest/breaks with my work sessions on my creative and admin tasks. 😊
Idk if this is depression but I go through stages where I’m lazy and low for 2-4 weeks then I’m high for maybe 1-2 weeks, it’s been this way for 4 years now, I’m not sure what it is, but I’ve done a lot to figure it out and fix it but I still can’t avoid these stages..😢 I’ve tried meds, hospital programs, weed, nothing will remove it
I’m the same way! I swear it has to do with my cycle. There’s a book and app called In the Flo that basically talks about what mode your hormones are in each week of your cycle. (Like what type of work to do, social, physical activity, etc.) I won’t go into it in case that doesn’t apply to what you’re experiencing but it helped me a lot to just acknowledge what was going on with my body and try to go with it.
But what if I can‘t go to bed early sometimes? like on Tuesday, sunday and Wednesday I sometimes can‘t go to bed early. Often on Tuesdays, sundays and Wednesdays I‘m not home until 10:00 pm (and it‘s not partying or something anywhere, it‘s very very important to me)
"Parallel accountability" - ah, yes, what a lot of us in the ADHD community call "body doubling", with, as Jess from HowToADHD calls them, our "accountabili-buddies". Can certainly work very well
The problem is when you don't have anyone to partner with, take a cup of coffee or tea with, or even chat to on the phone . I isolate myself and I don't think that is bad.
I love all the tips except the cooking with a tv show on, or scroll through tiktok. That's not good, delete tiktok because tiktok is probably the reason you're unmotivated
hey @muchelleb idk how often you check these comments but i figured that i would give it a try. i was making massive strides in my life both personally and professionally only to be laid off because the company was losing money. i’m adrift, unmotivated, depressed, and generally lost. how would you recommend getting back on one’s feet after such an upending event?
I needed this video so much! Thank you 💜 I just moved to another country and I’m still waiting on paperwork to start working in my new job so now I literally have nothing to do all day. And part of my wants to do EVERYTHING I can with this free time but a big part of me just wants to watch Netflix. I also need to remind myself everyday that putting myself out and making new friends is important. Anyway, good luck to all of us 💜 love you Muchelle 🫶🏼
