Anthony Fantano is relaxing in his casket as he is about to be lowered into the dirt by a group of his admirers for one last, meaningful time. He then springs up out of his coffin to everyone’s surprise, and states smugly with a slight smirk on his face, “ With my last words, I have to say... FUH YOU: NOT GOOD” . He then folds his arms back over his chest and tells his family and loved ones to hurry up with his burial before they receive their own NOT GOOD review.
Intro 10/10. It really shows how much Cal cares about and Anthony and you can tell they really have a special connection and are in tune with each others emotions.
Anthony frequently has meltdowns and outbursts, you just don't see it much in his videos. Cal goes through an immense amount of stress being Anthony's caretaker, and I worry for both of their health. And for reference, this was a mild outburst. You wouldn't want to see what a bad one looks like. Authorities have been called in the past.

Dylan This Is America *IS* meaningless. It WOULD NOT have the same level or impact w/o it’s music video to go alongside. Be honest with yourself, if Childish Gambino only made the song and never the video and it was playing on your car radio, would it have the same amount of impact? I highly doubt it. Just look up the lyrics to it and separate the song itself from the music video. It almost sounds nonsensical.

I didn’t mind Freaky Friday the first few times I heard it. Some of the jokes actually make me chuckle a bit, but I didn’t really take note of how terrible they were until later. Technically it’s Chris Brown singing it, but he’s singing from the perspective of a white guy about how great it is that he can say the N word. Lil Dicky is one of saddest rappers alive.
He, like, didn't address any of the technicals of the song. He just disliked the message. Which means the actual worst song of 2018 was the R Kelly song. Fantano's also sweeping generalisation that the majority of people disagreed with Kanye's support of Trump just shows he cannot separate his biases and his music critique, and his throwing of the 'These Kids are Alt-right' song was just to throw people off.

@@ElGiganto17 He gave specific reasons why particular songs were bad. The reverb and grating of 'Venom,' and the uninspired flow of 'Freaky Friday.' And they're justifiable bad pieces of music. But when you throw a song on, say 'it's hated by the majority,' and give no further explanation as to why the song is where it is, it does come across as a little unfulfilling. Anthony gives good reasons all the time, and when a song is good, he'll say why - as will he give a reason why it's bad. What's more, he'll go in-depth. Maybe not as much as he would in a single or album review, but I was expecting a puddle at least. But for the songs he had personal grievances with the message with, or mishandling a message he approves of, he doesn't go very far with it. Surely you can see where I'm coming from.

Venom is pure trash. The movie was trash and when the credits started playing with the Venom song, immediately realized it was one of the worst songs ever.

“L-l-lick salad bowl, Edgar Allan Poe” I feel like one of the problems with Eminem’s lyrics these days is sometimes he says a bunch of bullshit; he says shit just for the sake of a smart-sounding reference and a multisyllabic rhyme. There’s a salad bowl called the Edgar Allan Poe at some place. Okay??? He doesn’t do anything with this reference, he just throws it out there. Nothing against references or multisyllabic rhyming, obviously; it’d be hard to find rap music without any lol. That said, I’d honestly rather a rap song do without some references than just have those things there because it sounds impressive; same goes with a simpler rhyme scheme rather than sacrificing the lyrics to make it technical. If your rhyme scheme is intricate but you’re saying a bunch of bullshit, it’s still lazy. References should be used for a purpose, such as making an analogy

There’s a reason Melon is so much more recognized and liked than other “music critics” such as Todd in the Shadows or ARJ TV (Or whatever his name is). This is a legitimate top 10 list, songs who’s meaning failed to be important, songs that sounded bland. You look at a lot of the other guys, and they’re criticisms essentially boil down to “Oh yea that song was made by famous people and it charted somewhere? Yea that’s a top worst of the year then”. The reason guys like Melon are so appreciated atleast imo, is because they’re not constantly trying to shove their love of rock music down everyone’s throats by insulting anything that’s popular such as Pop, Rap or Country.
