Jim Cornette he’s very charismatic but I preferred the golden era of wrestling. Proper characters and super super heels. I did like the attitude and ruthless aggression eras but in terms of pure entertainment and storytelling you can’t beat the golden era. 1987-1992. Since the Benoit tragedy in 2007 my interest in wrestling has been lost.

Jon Heidenreich was originally going to be a Nazi from the 1940s cryogenically frozen only to be thawed out in the 21st century; he would have had Paul Heyman (who is Jewish!) as his manager. To know how big Warrior was you need to think for a sec. WM6 was Hogan on a streak for the ages and Warrior entering his peak at the same time. This was truly special. The first champ vs champ title match with by far the 2 biggest stars. The crowd was close to 50-50. 12 years later in the same stadium and Hogan(heel)against The Rock and it was 80 percent Hogan. During 1990 it was unheard of to see 2 babyfaces. Then by far the 2 powers. Then a clean match. I loved Warrior and my twin brother Hogan.

Tatanka being back full time and mid card is certainly the weirdest comeback ever. He was my favourite wrestler as a kid until D-Lo Brown came along (then billy gunn)

The Tatanka thing as I recall was a one off originally with a quick appearance against Eugene. They were apparently so impressed that he could still go that they offered him a deal, still wrestles on the indies from time to time.

for the record the Bulldog/Bret Hart match at Summer Slam 1992 was the last match, but not the main event, it was Savage and Warrior that was main event (and no it wasn't a "double" main event either like WM8 was)

However ill-advised Tatanka's comeback was, I appreciated the fact that toward the end they tried to do a completely new gimmick with him instead of simply relying on nostalgia.

Fun Fact: Shawn, Taker, and Triple H were not happy with how the Crown Jewel Match turned out. In Taker's words: "It was a train wreck", in Shawn's words: "Oh my goodness. It totally blew" and in Triple H's words: "It couldn't have gone worse".

One odd thing that stands out is the comment about the Davey Boy Smith's hair. He had long hair for a very short period of time in his career, originally copying his brother-in-law, Brett Hart, and then opting for the braids. When teaming with the Dynamite Kid early in his career he had a standard short cut, and a close cut the rest of his career- including when he was the chosen heel feuding with a babyface Shawn Michaels for the World Heavyweight Championship in the WWF (with Jim Cornette as his manager).

I think the Tatanka come back could have been decent if they toned down the dances and headwear and overall cartoony aspects of it. It still could have been the proud Native American gimmick but make him more gritty and realistic similar to the way a lot of guys changed in the Monday night war era.

I was actually surprised to see Chris "Tatanka" Chavis join the old F as the 1st time I ever saw him was in South Atlantic Pro Wrestling in early 90s. Figured he'd actually join WCW, but, I was wrong lol. Side note - SAPW was also the 1st place I ever saw Ken Shamrock as Vince Torelli, or however it was spelled lol, way before the old F or UFC.

In addition to the international stage, the tag-team aspect and the pay packet, the fact that the Undertaker was involved would likely have been a big reason why Michaels came back for one more match.

The Ric Flair TNA days was golden, PURELY, because of the shine shown on Jay Lethal. That passing of torch moment is meant to be special, but as TNA was known for, it gave an up and comer (though he had years behind him at that time) a chance to shine. Ideally, I wish Ric just managed Lethal... but ya know... biz greed took over.
