Most of these teams had prior chemistry before tagging whether it be in a storyline or backstage. & most aren’t forgotten.

Eugene was also over with the kids at the time, including my autistic nephew. Eugene was his favorite wrestler at the time because, and I quote, "He's like me!" He related to Eugene and didn't see the character as making fun of him, unlike some people try to virtue signal Eugene as doing.

@@RichWhiteUM They kinda did after 2004 though. 2004 Eugene was the best Eugene, where his character was that he was a savant. Socially awkward and challenged, but could kick your ass in the ring. Then that uplifting part of his gimmick slowly faded away.

Only problem is this is a bug to most fans but a feature to Vince. IMO, the complete inability to handle tag teams in WWE is part of the reason for the relative lack of roster depth on RAW and SD right now.

And WWE has 3 tag belts less important than the 24/7 title. Hell the UK belts are more important and I bet you forget WWE had tag team champions in the UK.

@@TheRedOctoberProject they should get rid of the women's tag team titles or put more women on the main roster. And as far as Raw & SmackDown, unify the belts.

If you wanted to pay 60 bucks for the PPVs yeah sure the wrestling was really good but the television? Nah dude it was the drizzling shits and the attitude era was even worse. Theres a reason why people always joked that RAW was an acronym for Rarely Any Wrestling and while Smackdown was a bit better but thats like being the cleanest toilet at a Mcdonalds

Sleep on it? Really? I find that most "smarks" have a boner for it because of the "Smackdown 6" and also John Cena and stuff? Idk... I started tuning out during that era. It's not it's fault. It had to follow the greatest era.

Some of the wrestling was good... from the men. But this was still during a time when women were still seen as eye candy rather than actual wrestlers. A lot of women got signed for their beauty and actual women's wrestling was an afterthought. No amount of Trish and Lita can change that

Idk there were a lot of Snitskys, Heidenreichs and other awful big men being pushed and failing while the Cruiserweight division was relegated to Velocity (which was honestly better than Smackdown in 04).

If only... sadly after what transpired five years ago I don't think that will happen 😕

They should do a collab with Cultaholic at the very least. Imagine them turning plumpy joining the WrestleTwats into a storyline. It would be awesome.

@@ppdantaslima I thought that was going to be the case. With Cultaholic winning and owning mr. Davis's og jacket. I think with the pandemic, plans didn't fall through and they will store it for a big four ppv or wrestlemania.

@@sticketer while I believe things are not the same, it almost blew up Cultaholic before they got started. I love watching these videos, and I truly missed Adam. It can't change why what happened happened. He abused his standing and hurt a lot of people. We don't know what impact that had on the OG Culty boys. I'd like to see a reunion one day, but it unfortunately isn't our decision. We can only hope

Deuce and Domino ruled, though...well, their gimmick and theme song was pretty cool at least.

Nope, Coach replaced Eugene who was out for months with a serious knee injury.

They were kind of an actual tag team, though, as opposed to two thrown together singles stars. Thinking back on it, God, Deuce had a weird career. Obviously being Jimmy Snuka's son and all the baggage that comes with that. The tag team (who were apparently managed by MARYSE at one point? WTF?), then almost getting into Legacy instead of Cody Rhodes... damn, the wrestling scene in 2021 might look a whole lot different if Deuce had gotten that pinfall back in 2008, wouldn't it? Oh, and then being a cameraman plant in that infamous HBK/Taker match at Mania 25, and not catching Taker on his suicide dive, which nearly became an ACTUAL suicide dive. Then, getting released that June, which was definitely COMPLETELY unrelated.

@@TheRedOctoberProject The thing is, today, ironically, I think that a Greaser gimmick would get over as hell in a place like NXT; hell, just recycle the old theme that Deuce and Domino had (one of the most underappreciated WWE theme songs ever in my opinion)

The Women’s Tag division will have a similar story called the Riott Squad.

@@RichWhiteUM check the WWE homepage. There is no mention of it. I know the story, but it does not count. And a team like the Rockers should have had a run with the titles. They never had a bad match.

I remembered most of these but even the Flair/Piper thing had me going "WTF?!". Granted, it was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it reign and I was in college for the back half of the RA era, but still. Geez.

Because some of these teams are actually good with both guys great Wrestlers, Just not the best title reigns.

Depends on how early into the match Trips tore something, honestly. :-(. AJ would have found a way to make it a decent match. (He had a great match with Shane McMahon, ffs) and Triple H is an underrated in-ring storyteller for all of the things he *doesn't* do particularly well. But it's a clash of styles - no pun intended. And Triple H probably knew that, too. Oh, well. Maybe Omos can learn a thing or two rubbing shoulders with AJ.

If my memory serves it kind of did, but then Chavo got healthy and that killed that team dead with Eddie’s failed heel turn on Tajiri

It wasn’t their fault but their reign was what buried those titles so early into their existence.

Wasn't that the same time that the Dirt Sheet vs Word up rivalry was happening. If so it's kinda obvious why Miz and Morrison vs Cryme Tyme was picked over CM Punk and Kofi vs Legacy.
