This is only about cryptids, not all the monsters. The reason theyre all in Appalachia is because Fallout 76 chose to explore cryptids a LOT (and irl Appalachia has tons of cryptids)

I remember in my playthrough in 76, I was chatting with my friends and I randomly turn around and see a Cryptid right behind me. I gasp on mic, saying, "Mothman!" Before it attacked me. Everyone was laughing their asses off cause they said I cried that like I was a villain in Gotham and just saw Batman descend upon me.

The problem was that no one listened when they said there's no npcs year one like yeah guys, we're the first out of the vaults makes sense for people to make their way towards the safety the players made by killing the queen. As a game as a service it was a weird move but I understood the reasons.

The game is mid, still. Besides that, Bethesda's actions against the fans even up to this day is what keeps people away. It came out shit and they blamed the fans. That's why it's hated. It BARELY got better. Doesn't matter.

Fallout has a lot of Eldritch horror in the world, for example multiple entities on the same level as old ones from Lovecraft exist in the Fallout world. You also have a immortal family, due to a artifact (suspected to be from the old ones) found before the great war.

There's a spot somewhere in the northern center of the map in Fallout 4. Its a tiny unmarked shed with some useful supplies in it. And a dirt pit with a giant radscorpion hiding underneath just waiting for you to step and get one shotted if you're low leveled. I have never gotten a worse jumpscare in this series. Fuck whatever developer decided to put that in there. 😂

My favorite fallout theory has been that the vaults were created as a codeveloped plan by the U.S. government and the Zetan aliens. The government wanted the technology of the Zetans, and the Zetans wanted the resources of the earth and to study the many species.

In 76, if I remember the lore correctly since it has been a while since I read the notes and listened to the holotapes, the Moth man was good, and some still are. The hostile ones are called something like "vengeful", or they are mutated/scorched and their cult is taken over by the interloper, which ties into the dunwich stuff.

Fun fact: the most interesting aspect of Wendigos, is that after becoming one, the host develops an instantiable hunger for human flesh. No matter how often, or how much flesh they devour, they will never be rid of the gnawing hunger. In trying to satiate their hunger, they just became forever hungry. Becoming a Windigo is a fate worse than starving to death.

Well, the appalachian mountain range, of which West Virginia is in/very very nearby was ancient when the Rocky's formed which leads a lot of people to suspect that ancient monsters still skulk the forests and mountains. Couple that with poorly identified animals/tracks/noises easily leads to a cryptid. Of course, the fact that you can find and fight the cryptids in this video means that they are not, in fact, cryptids. As the whole point of cryptids is that they "exist but cannot be found"

I’m fairly sure that every one of these monsters is there is to have enemy variety in the MMO video game. They’re interesting but they all come from 76. Disappointed in the fact it doesn’t go over “all known Fallout monsters” in general.

I mean, Fallout 76 was the only game so far to have actual cryptids based on real life stories appear in game. The other games only referenced a few crypids in small bits of dialouge, like No Bark and Chupracabras (which Uranium Fever already included). So it isn't possible for this person to cover "all Fallout monsters", because the only cryptids that showes up were in 76. If you wanted to cover all wasteland creatures, that's a different matter all together

Nux, i know you've never done dnd content before but the LAST dnd 5e adventure is being released soon, (not the last ever, it's just a new edition is being released at the end of the year) i think it'd be a fun idea to cover some dnd lore, and if you want to start with the villain of the dnd module, Vecna, that'd be a fun place to start (he's a litch king who's trapped in another dimension and the only way he knows about the outside world is through his finger and eye that are magic items in the overworld)
