Good picking Bill, that was a hell of a blind pick. The only thing I would have like to see would have been how to engage the "tail piece" (or whatever it's called on the euro cylinders) it didn't seem to rotate with the core and I know sometime there is some sort of button that has to be depressed to actuate the turning mechanism. Either way it's about the pick! I don't know which I like more the actual picking or getting to see the goodies inside. Thanks for the education and entertainment!

Kevin Leonard in the middle of the lock in most cases is a plug that will turn the actuator at the same time the core spins. A lot of times it is a two piece but connected and exactly the same shape. the key is just long enough to push it in until the side the key is in is all the way in the actuator and a little in the core so they work together and the other half of the plug is in the none moving plug sitting still and that is how they get the actuator and the core to spin together while leaving the other core stationary. The other side while not work until that little plug is pushed back the other way. On most thumbturns it is spring loaded so the thumbturn side is always engaged until a key pushes it in.

Thanks Randy. That does make sense. I only have a couple euros in my small collection "no thumb turns but I didn't have to activate anything to get the actuator to turn with the core. I guess the reason I brought it up was because if you were really trying to gain entry you would most likely turn it the full 360 and not gain entry and would be hosed needing to pick it again. So not quite an open.

Kevin Leonard Yeah he should definitely mention it but us lockpickers are really just looking for the core to turn, and he probably would forget it if he ever did have to open a door.

Hey Bill, love your videos, really changed my life, can't look at a lock the way I used to, I live in Japan and my house lock is a specific magnet activated lock, been trying to get one to have you curse it, anyway, on the bright side I'm opening a bar next three weeks.. the lock on the door so far is so weak you'd probably get it by pissing on it... point is, come around to Japan, you can stay over at my place and drink at my bar... open bar for you.... lemme know... =)

Practically a clone of the medeco bi-Axel cylinders with all the rave in the 80s over the side bar, with - out the rotating bi-axle pins..very impressive picking the pain in the butt side bar...Bill your the man..!

I don't know why I even bother with a pinning tray when I'm gutting a lock... I end up having to retrieve everything from under the refrigerator every time.

I have found that if you can fold up a large bath towel a couple of times and place it directly below the lock you're working on, it tends to absorb the velocity of the flying parts, and catches them. This cut down my hunting and tracking time of missing pieces immensely.

I would really like to know how you did that so easy. My guess is really bad tolerances and only a couple false gates. Anyone who's seriously tried to pick an ASSA twin knows that was way to easy. Easier than a Primus.

I don't know if you are already aware, but SKG is not a brand/type of locks. Its a security rating. Some locks have no SKG certification, other may have 1, 2 or 3 stars. Higher are more resistant to brute force assaults by the time it takes to open it, and a SKG *** lock is only rated it the door, frame, hinges and other hardware is also *** SKG rated. You may already be aware, but your title suggests otherwise.

@BosnianBill Did you know there is an "M2" version of the M&C Matrix cylinder? I have two of these and they are really challenging for me, but i managed to get them open and gut them. It has almost the same features except the type of security pins used. It wouldn't be harder to pick than the cylinder in this video but it has one very interesting pin i don't even know what to make of.

oh my god i had one of this security locks but mine had sliders on both sides and they did not bind at all and i think i had no normal Pins just sliders, of Course i was not able to pick it since im a beginner can anyone tell me how to pick those or how to know wich one to try to pick first since they are not binding they just move arround no matter what Tension i had on the core. there are a lot of this locks in europe and without the Card you cant go to locksmith and copy a key, great security lock, one of many many many security locks in europe

Nice lock... I can't see a way to thread or counter mill the bible for lack of access from top or bottom. I'm surprised you found no threading on the core either. That would have made this already challenging lock far more challenging with the pins they chose. This is my opinion, I could be wrong :)

I'm a self taught hack. That lock would have driven me farther into insanity. I say "farther" because everyone ignores my rule not to watch me when I need to pick a lock and I usually wind up with a crowd. It is certainly not a lock that I would want to pick in the middle of the night to repo an aircraft.

It kind of boggles the mind but the best lock companies in the world invest hundreds of millions of dollars to develop "unbeatable" devices, yet an experienced picker like Bill knocks them out in minutes. It must be totally humiliating for them. And the people who spend a couple hundred dollars on a lock have no idea how easily it can be picked. Seems like a racket.
