Phew! I happened across this video while I had a tarp of theirs on order. Needless to say, I started sweating a bit. Well, it arrived, and I'm happy to report that none of the concerns listed here apply to the tarp I received or my interactions with customer service. Sorry you had a bad go of it!

I just bought one of these myself so a little disappointed to hear your opinion. At the same time though I love your honesty and candor, well done!

I had a bit a 'mare' with these guys a while back, first they sent me the wrong colour then they sent me one of their 1st gen tarps that promptly fell apart. I eventually got what I paid for (which very I'm happy with), all that aside if you go into their online chat they WILL make things right, their customer service dept. is excellent. That's no excuse of course they need to get right first time, they obviously have manufacturing, quality control & logistics issues that need sorting. ATB Pete

For the price, it should be as advertised! To be smaller than advertised that’s not cool! I am glad you did this I had been on the fence about one, but now for the price It’s definitely a no go, I think I might make one!

Hi Mark, i cant weigh up to get a 3 by 3 oilskin tarp or a size 3 lavvu. If i manage to get a reputable brand oilskin tarp, would you reccomend the tarp style over a lavvu?

Hello my friend, it seems that you understand what you are talking about, I do not doubt it, even with this I can tell you that I have the same tarp and I loved the quality and the finishes (it is something subjective obviously) I think it is possible that yours has been worse off, I am from Spain, shipping is free for orders over €250, take advantage of your 15% discount now at Christmas and I have been amazed by your products, tired of the typical nylon tarp, I am delighted but thank you for giving us your honest opinion, thank goodness I watched the video after having it hahahaha Since I saw that you had fewer centimeters of canvas, I measured mine and it came out to 3.05 meters x 2.96, I think it is perfectly acceptable .

You should get your hands onto a “CoalCracker Bushcraft” a true 10x10ft I have the trekker tarp and I love it, I can’t wait to get the 10x10 ft from them whenever it’s back in stock.

To get it in to your country is you guys's fault, Brit- Exit remember? I bought a knife from UK and customs hold it because the handle was made with wood that it was protectect by. the EU and the USA, tons of fees because the EU makes it harder to ship stuff in and out of the UK, I got the same tarp and so far so good.I must agree with you on the size we getting rip off with the size!!!

Crickey! That has some issues! It's a shame because wax canvas gear is fantastic to use. I've made my own wax canvas tarp and I'm pleased with it.

What about the waterproof aspect and weight dude? Is it any good?

I just bought the king size wool blanket and it came with the white ends too short comparto others I contacted them and said it’s impossible to make the tarp 10x10 or 3x3 every tarps is a little different same thing with the blanket very disappointed on the customer service didn’t offer exchange or a discount I doubt I will buy anything anymore!

Wow, they should be ashamed of themselves, quite a damning review. I’d be seriously pissed off too. That stitching is an absolute shocker. Like you say, when they can’t even stitch their own label on properly… I’ve looked at stuff on their website and been tempted in the past. I certainly shan’t be looking again

Glad you've done this review bud! Bushcraft Spain are robbers! You only have to check what they charge for 550 paracord to realise how they are fleecing people.

Thanks for saving me from buying one. I suppose I should be happy enough with my AQ Defender but the "magical" oilskin was tempting, plus the fire resistance.

I think you have every right to be annoyed re the size and the quality, but not the import and vat charge. We're no longer in the EU and the charges for importing have been very well publicised, that's not the fault of Bushcraft Spain.

I just got mine. Mine is stellar. Sorry you had bad luck. I'd contact them as their customer service is 2nd to none.

Maybe outlaus tarps are of better quality?

definitely underwhelmed with the quality of the item compared to the price is the politest way I can express myView. I feel bad for your mate after spending that amount of cash to receive an item you can probably make better yourself for considerably less money

A 2x4 isn’t 2” by 4” are their profit margins huge also? Clearly you don’t understand canvass fabric measurements. Tentsmiths aren’t exactly 3x3 or 10’x 10’ it has to deal with how the canvass is made , cute , fold over for seam and sewn!!! Come on man really? Coalcracker bushcrafts are also the same. Canvass drop cloths from paint stores are the same lumber is the same. But to insinuate bushcraft Spain does it to increase their profit margins is just an irresponsible thing to say. As a business owner my self you’re the worst kind of customer. I’ve ordered many items in the bushcraft industry and the service I received from Bushcraft Spain was fantastic, impeccable. First off their products are amazing, the detail in the stitching, the center tie outs, the entire oil and wax coverage. Than the old school way they ship the product to you. I’ve ordered their Nesmuk tarp, king size wool blanket , wool and canvass drip cloth along with the same 3x3 tarp . As well as the leather blanket roll carrier, and their old fashioned smoked line/cordage. Everything is top notch, and you get what you pay for. They are the cheapest in the industry when it comes to quality on canvass goods. I love my 9x9 tentsmith but it was more than my BUshcraft Spain 10x10 and the stitching is much better on the BS tarp. The tentsmith has more center tie outs. But again it was almost $100 dollars more. Anyway, to see someone disparage a great company because of their mismanaged expectations is wrong and I had to say something.

It's all wanky? Gutted for you mate. Really put me off this company. I always use DD or Army Basha MTP. I was looking at one of these but no way now. I think you should send this back and ask them to refund delivery too. This company should be ashamed of themselves.

I would be wanting a 50% refund minimum Martin..75% in actual fact.

I’ve been a leather worker for well over 10 years so know a stitch whether by machine or hand and YEP, that is shockingly bad for a premium product!….use your “not fit for purpose “ rights and get your money back asap.(not sure if the same terms work after brexit} The sewing machine tension was clearly not even set up right. Regarding size I think it is standard practice for any tarp to be a advertised as “cut” size, before folding hems and strengthening etc.
