Glad to see your comments on the oilskin tarps. Yours is the first video of it's kind that I've seen and I appreciate your comments that stem from your experience with the various tarps. Thanks.
Thank you very much for your honest review and for supporting our family business. Sometimes size varies a little due to many factors, including humidity, keeping it folded for some time, a bit of loss of length due to us stitching the different panels together, temperature also... We are really glad you value our artisanal work, we'll follow your channel from now on :)
Im in Germany and of course the shipping is free for us ,I have the same tarp and the Tent smiths charge extra for reinforcements and that is a deal beaker for me.
I have the Bushcraft Spain, oil cloth poncho, and I am very impressed with the quality. I wish you had gone into a little more detail about the wool and oil cloth ground sheet. I am thankful you let us take a look at yours. It does look great. Guess I’ll have to subscribe.
A trick for an easy conversion: 1m = 3ft 3inch 3/8; but just think it as 1= 3-3-3. So 3m = 9ft 9inch 9/8= 9ft 10 inch 1/8. Good video and Tents Smith are really closer to the size they advertise as the overshoot one of the two lengths on each tarp. But I am glad to see that the Bushcraft Spain are not that bad, I would appreciate a follow up to check if the stitching resists regular use. Finally , I hope you will enjoy your family adventure with your little explorer. I always like to see curious kid, they are smart and it’s proof of good parenting since their parents have not killed their curiosity but where able to protect them enough for them to not experience misadventures. 👍
Looks like one heavy tarp, so no good for backpackers but if your vehicle traveling and need a shelter nearby for a good nights sleep in the open, I would imagine useful indeed. However I cannot see the benefit even for that as new technique lighter material would do the same at protecting you and can be utilized for long distance backpacking. Nostalgic and no doubt well made! So so much cheaper. Thankyou for sharing.
bought 2 then had to pay seamstress to redo ALL the stitching and then i bought a poncho, same thing cheap threads, so had to pay to have re-stitched. at an extra $248 on re-stitching. so at the HIGH price i paid for these i had expected way better workman ship looks like a 12 year old made in sewing school. 40% out of a !00% scale.
Dang that’s crazy. Sorry to hear that man! Yeah I only have the 2 items and they seem to still be solid. Sorry to hear that bro. Thanks for sharing the comment.
