I am very impressed with how well those Lee Load All's work, you make them sing. I steered away from them because they didn't have as good reviews as the Mec's, and at the time I could not find a .410 set of dies for the Lee press. Now with 3d printing you can do so much more, and it makes these so much better. I have been lucky finding my Mec presses used for around $100 each, have 3 of them now, one for each 12, 20, .410 and they work great. Your channel is not only informative, but makes my days a lot better when I am doing dull word processing at a desk all day (exaggerating of course)
Yeah Buddy Awesome Video. I dumped a whole scoop of buffer on the bench doing exactly what you did. Thanks for not editing out the little goofs. Keeps it real for me.
Now that I live a in a remote area where stores and reloading supplies are not so readily accessible I have been wanting to diversify my 12g loading. This has been helpful. I will be ordering some supplies for my next trip to town so I can try a few of the things mentioned. I even picked up a single stage press to go with the progressive
Hi, we are new to your channel, just became subscribers. We are enjoying your content. Can you tell us which is your "hair curler trick" video, we are very interested in seeing it. Thank you
I’ve use a basic load like that. 26 grains of pro reach in fiocchi hull. X12x gas seal. Didn’t have card card wads so I used 31/2 felt cushion wads. 12 0-buck. No idea what the pressure is. Haven’t tried buffer.
I really enjoyed your video. I’ve had a Lee press sitting on my Reloading bench for a few years now and watching your videos has given me the kick up the ass to start Reloading, my 12 g ☘️
I'll have to check out that hair curler trick. I just cast a bunch of 00 buck and got timing down so that instead of one long sprue from the Lee mould I got 6 individual sprues. Was going to put them in the pot for next time but thought hey, why not load them? Put first one in sprue point up. then place angle to angle for maximum fit-just have to weigh each payload for data. Ought to have a big tumbling effect on old magazines.
Friend, I really like your videos, I also have a channel for refills and testing refills in Brazil. What white powder is this that the friend used between the lead spheres? Strong hug.
Hey Tyler On that 1 1/4 oz. Load with 31 grn. Of Long shot @ around 1375fps. How much would you back of the Long shot to get it closer to the 1200 fps or even a little less. Shooting double barrel so no cycling concerns. Thanks Steve
Morning Tyler. I was just wondering about load data for hs-6, 1 1/4 oz loads. Hodgdon do not list any for 2 3/4 straight wall cheddite hulls/primers but they do for fiocchi, federal hoa/gold medal using winchester primers. it's listing between 32 - 34 grains on the federals and 35 for fiocchi's. Could I use 32 grains with a cheddite hull/primer, gaulandi green ssw or mg42 and 12 pellets of .31 cal? Have you loaded much up with hs-6?
You should be really careful to avoid chronic lead poisoning my man I love your content and wouldn't want you to get sick please take all the necessary precautions to avoid it brotha we care about you and your well being
What do you recommend on a good trap shoot load considering what’s available today. I use to use hodgden clays with 7.5 shot an clay buster wads but Clays powder is not available much these days
Winchester AA super handicap, red dot, titewad/titegroup, high gun, perfect pattern, e3, wst, green dot, and a few more powders will all do very similar to clays.
You have too then flatten them with something. I’m only using the 10 gauge fiber wads because I can tear them up for use in other gauges. If you’re just loading 12 gauge or are a normal person, get the 12 gauge wads.
It’s not branded, my uncle had it laying around and gave it to me when I needed a scale. If you watch our newer videos I’m using a cheap Amazon fuzion scale that is far more precise. I’d go with it.
Hey Tyler, I have just started to powder coat my buckshot, there’s so many ways to do it and I would like to know how you do yours ! When you get the time , I would like to know your thoughts on it ! Take Care and Be Safe
Thank you very much , Tyler , I do appreciate it ! Oh by the way , Merry Christmas and pass that on to Josh ! I am still not doing well with Holidays . I have seen ole Bubba 's video on powder coating !

@@theshotgunscientists I've watched you and Wade use that nifty trick. But thought it looked kind of ugly in a clear hull. A tiny bit of powder migration isnt going to affect pressures that much to cause a blooper?
In the 8 pellet 000 load you used 23 grains of Longshot. Did you try larger charge weights? Did you find that more powder gave too much pressure or just patterned bad? I would think that you could go to 27 or 28 grains. Great videos, keep up the work.
I'm just getting into shotshell reloading. I've been metallic reloading for over 26 years, and I'm realizing that probably makes me just smart enough to be dangerous. Shotshell reloading is a whole different animal. On the 3" cheddite 15 pellet 00 load, if I wanted to drop that to 12 pellets is it as simple as adding another 1/4 inch fiber wad? I made a dummy round with Cheddite 3" hull, 29.5 grains of longshot, x12x gas seal, 1/2 inch fiber wad + 1/4 inch fiber wad, 12 pellets 33 cal. 00, clear plastic overshot disk with roll crimp. Everything stacks up nicely. The shot I have is Hornady. They are true 33 cal., (measured them myself) and weigh 53.2 grains each, 12 of them is 638.4 grains. If my calculations are correct, just shy of 1 1/2 ounces. About 18 grains shy. Just about right to buffer them if I want to. What would be a max charge to work up to? I simply cannot find any data with that payload weight and those components in my books. My gun is gas operated and I'm only going to work it up to where it reliably cycles it. Or as Johnny would say, am I already about to "blow my face off"?
Yes dropping out a few pellets for some fiber wadding is fine. Max charge for 1.5 ounces is 30.6 with longshot and it’s 1310 fps 11,600 psi. Hodgdon has free load data on their website for all of their powder. The 1.5 ounce loads are typically for 2 3/4” shells but work great in 3” with extra fiber wadding for more cushion. Lowers pressure.
I have a old blue ribbon 12 gage i think its made by stevens i load with black powder with lead shot will it harm the barrel to shot daisy bb's in it ?
If you will take the primer holder out ( little bolt looking object) And go get a stove bolt 1/4 to 7/16 shorter and put in place you can push the resizing ring much better. Thanks for all the good info and watch and record all that I can.
Some states have prohibitions against using buckshot for deer hunting. The laws have been on the books for decades. Nobody even knows why in most cases. Some say it's not reliable enough and therefore "unsporting" and inhumane Others say it's because it's so deadly that it's not "sporting" enough. That's ridiculous. Guess the state governing or regulatory body needs petitioning to correct that in light of there being no scientific or practical reason to justify a buckshot prohibition.
Yeah that one never made sense to me either. I guess one way they could be looking at it is #4 buck being .24 caliber may not be effective enough at longer ranges. No reason to prohibit the larger pellets though.
@@theshotgunscientists You would think that if they finally legalized .410 slug and most handgun cartridges, that buckshot wouldn't be such a big deal either. I honestly think there must be a personal bias against or for some stuff in "regulations". Of course I remember a time in Colorado when .357 Magnum was not legal as a handgun round for deer. Theoretically was not powerful enough. That had to be a deliberate bias to eliminate the most common center-fire magnum revolver cartridge ever used for deer.
Another good video buddy! Talking about old school, you ever dip your toes into black powder or BP substitute loads? I’m going to start loading triple 7 with fiber wads, BB’s, #1 buck and #4 buck
Oh I can't find fiber wads in stock anywhere. I did find some made for black powder brass 12 guage hulls. They are pre lubed with some kind of bore butter. Have you tried these? That are really tight in the fiocci hulls and kind of fall apart. Your thoughts please. Thanks.
I've used the 12ga waxed 1/2 in wads and they are a bit over sized for plastic hulls. I just trimmed them a bit and made them work. I have the right ones waiting in my cart at ballistic Products right now. In 20 16 and 12 ga...
