Another tip, she might just not be a texter and that's okay. I've learned in my experience that it can actually mean maturity in her, in that she doesn't play childish texting games and would rather meet you in person. Asking her out on a date or to even just hangout gives you a way better clearance of her interest then messaging. Texting in my opinion should only be for asking her out and lightly conversating at most.

Jose, you got this spot on. From the perspective of a woman, I see texting as a tool that's useful because the lives of participants don't have to line up in order to talk. You just respond when you're able to and you can share whenever you want to. You're absolutely right about keeping expectations low. Really, if you don't know someone well enough, your only goal should be to get to know this person better. If this person has the same goal in mind, great! Talk things slowly, see how it goes, it's fantastic if you can just gain a new good friend in the process. The last guy who tried to talk to me sent me nothing but "Hello", "Good morning/night", and "what are you doing". Sometimes he'd have something he wants to talk about but waits for me to be online before saying anything. If you need to let something out or an opinion, just say it. I'll get back to you later. If you want to get to know me, ask better questions. If you want me to get to know you, share something. Women aren't perfect when it comes to texting too, of course. You're also spot on that all of this "texting advice" nonsense is just nonsense that overcomplicates something that should be pretty simple.
