I so appreciate the beautiful skills of these dancers! On the other hand, over the years, the hair pieces and costumes have become way too much. I remember when "bouncy" hair accentuated the movements of the dance. These hair pieces/wigs are too stylized. Still, spectacular dancing! Good luck to the twins!
Bring back the long flowing hair and the beautiful traditional costumes. Plus all the steps seem the same and so stiff. They’re ruining the beautiful style of Irish dancing.
Belfast is in Northern Ireland, UK. KARE 11 in Minneapolis. As a former Minnesotan TV reporter I thought it important to share this wee fact with you from Ireland.
I just don't get why they are all done up like little dolls. I did irish dancing as a child in the 60s and won prizes. We only wore black skirts and tops, black tights and our shoes. All those ridiculous costumes take away from the wonderful dancing
@@GaiaDanu Irish step dancing, it's the style of dance in the video based off of traditional Irish dancing. It is now mostly a style of dance performed at competition or for entertainment, in the past few decades this has been the style of competition costume across the world including in Ireland.
The wigs are ATROCIOUS! They should ban them. Not every Irish girl has ringletts and they need'nt need them. It's a conservitive tradition except competiton is known for the beautiful fabrics and embroidry. These COSTUMES may be beautiful but they cost thousands of dollars. Do you know the history of Ireland and how poor it was. It just doesn't seem realistic to the history of the art.

Don't like the wigs and these uniforms are a little over the top.
