Dude that moment at 14:34… like his friend just got done explaining how boogie always has to bring it back to himself and doesn’t genuinely listen to him or care what his friend has to say. Like he’s being open about it and instead of taking a moment to acknowledge that he skips right over it, cuts him off and goes back to his own misery. Narcissism.
I didn’t feel like he was really saying he likes them more, I took it as, he can associate closer with some than others which is true for everyone. It’s like Trauma Bonding. But I totally see where you are coming from.
Yeah it started off sweet when he was talking about how he wants them to struggle together, understand it and to try to beat it. Then in the next frame he talks about how he wants to just enjoy his favourite foods, drinks and just indulge and forget. It's a double edged sword, they could be supporting each other but they could just be enabling each other.
I've had a covert narcissist friend ever since I was 10, and it makes me so sad that Boogie's friends go through the same thing with him. When Boogie is talking about his friend's weight, it's important for Boogie to point out that Boogie always has been the biggest, as if it actually matters. The victim mentally for a covert narcissist will lead them to believe they are not only a victim, but a victim that is worse off than anybody, their suffering is "special". Boogie tries to frame their weight as some kind of bonding/empathy opportunity, but it's really about finding comfort in people with low self-esteem, so his manipulation is more effective. A covert narcissist's target is someone with low self-esteem and empathy. The victim falls into a trap of feeling pity, which is then used as an excuse for his horrible mistreatment of them. "I'm being an asshole right now because of A, B and C" and someone like Boogie will rely on us to be understanding, but never giving US healthy empathy in return (UNhealthy empathy being the pursuit of knowing our vulnerabilities and using that against us later on). Like Boogie talking about himself when he asked how his friend was is such an obvious display of the selfishness and lack of empathy. Interacting with someone like Boogie is emotionally exhausting and my heart goes out to anyone dealing with that kind of relationship.
You guys use this term way too much, you’re not a therapist and have no idea what you’re talking about. He’s directing the conversation because he’s hosting the conversation and is the main role in the documentary smh.
@@troyreactsmuzic The documentary has an entire segment on how Boogie is a covert narcissist and where Boogie acknowledges he could be a covert narcissist. You CAN be officially diagnosed by a therapist, but not all narcissists are told of the diagnosis. So despite the documentary and not being a therapist, I'm speaking from tons of research, therapy and experience, Boogie is talking to them exactly how a covert narcissist would. You don't have to take anyone's word for it, these are just youtube comments, but if you really DO care about this topic, do some research and come to your own conclusion.
I also deal with a shit load of mental health issues. Adhd, bi polar, agoraphobia, panic attacks. It fucking sucks ass to try and go to the store and start flipping out with a panic attack.
You got this tho. Proud of you. Keep on getting strong each day and one day you’ll be so proud of what you’ve accomplished!! I hope you’re already proud! I am!
@boogie2988 Ty bro. I try but I guess not hard enough. I feel as if I'm dying. It's a really miserable state to be in. But I keep on keeping on. Happy Thanksgiving man
mike $hould have left the warmer $tuff in, they look like mooches in the doc + the deep explanation of why you get together makes the whole thing way more meaningful.
It is so funny when his friend is saying the story about how boogie asked him how his day was, then boogie cut him off to talk about himself and how that annoyed him, and immediatley boogie cut him off to talk about himself.
See this needed to be in the doc IMO. The doc focus solely on the negative, this was a nice positive, showing you're a different person then what we see in your videos.
I think a lot of people thought that the doc would be a "puff piece" that would try to stroke Boogie's ego and make light of some of the controversy surrounding him the last couple years. But if anything, the doc was almost the opposite; it made Boogie look as bad if not worse than the other docs made about him in the last couple years. Clips like these would have done a lot to bring a more balanced overview to Boogie's life.
I enjoy these clips that show the very human moments in boogie's life. He has good friends. These guys are compassionate, they stick by you but hold you accountable. I think it's a very positive thing to have these weekly get togethers where you have serious conversations in between nerding out and just being crazy together.
Also the story about you cutting off your friend is definitely a good reason as any for him to think of leaving your life. You do have a problem with narcissism with the way he described it. You have to understand you hurt a friend that literally stuck with you despite everyone leaving and him sharing the same feelings of those that left. I suggest you learn to spot the moments of when you let the narcissistic tendencies take over so you can explain yourself and apologize properly.
Remember Boogie, nothing is like the friends you play games with. Glad you have friends like them. They're great people. I wish you did D&D and Magic videos with them. I think we all would enjoy it.
Your girlfriends family clearly messed her up. And the fact that there alright worh their 18 year old daughter dateing a 50 year old man shows that. I’m not here to troll you just to hate you… but those are the facts
Great stuff! Ever thought about streaming your card games / game nights? Might be fun to interact that way. This type stuff and these conversations are great and its just cool to feel as if you are there in a circle with some folks just talking about life
THIS IS SO DIFFERENT AND THIS GUY HAS A WONDERFUL STORY TELLER 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 I HOPE HE IS DOING ALRIGHT 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
@@AceandDuceI believe he is saying this because it is a fresh content outside of everything else going on in his channel, he doesn’t need to watch it to know that boogie is doing something outside of his norms.
@@Torres289 If we are going to continue commenting and speculating about this person's mindset it's worth mentioning this. Instead of replying here, they chose to go to my channel and comment "this is embarrassing". Which I personally found funny as I constantly embarrass myself way worse than anything on my channel. I should also say, I was simply irked by someone commenting that something was great before seeing it. The video was great but to say so before seeing it is what irked me. As for boogie doing things outside his norms, I am happy for him. The documentary was extremely good and I hope that he continues moving forward positively. I've enjoyed him for a long time and I will continue to do so for a long time.
100g of cucumber, strawberry, mushrooms, cauliflower = 30 calories... 100g of pizza = 300 calories.... eat as much food as you want, just choose the right foods and keep your calories below 1500/day and you cannot gain weight. count your calories! (sugar less than 25g per day)... Food is an addiction, switch your addiction to lower calorie foods.
that will never happen, instead of changing your foods, eat the same exact garbage your eating, but just try and eat like 10% less, get used to that for a month, then so a little less and repeat. it will take will power but ull see results.
Love to y’all! I’m nearly 60 and have struggled with weight. Average to slightly taller and at times have hovered around 300. I think I’m currently around 230. Age has helped with healthier eating but also has hindered the getting moving deal. I somehow managed pretty decently to get through a 31 year firefighter EMT career which helps with health care and a decent pension to provide for me and two cats in an rv that I travel around the country in.
This is amazing insight to what we thought we knew about you. Hats off to your friends for being honest and open. Send us more behind the scenes from your doc.
Enjoyed the talk, always nice to be able to reflect with each other. My favourite quote is "Listen to the ones talking, if you want to be listened to", I feel like you achieved that here :)
Great talk. I'd love to see a series where the 3 of you try to get healthier together and work out and diet and document your progress. It would be such a positife, inspirational video series. Hope you all are doing well.
Boogie probably won't see this comment.....but I really like his latest videos. So much more down to earth and nice to watch. Keep up the good content Boogie
I feel for Seth. He knows it's all in his head, and he just needs a jump to get him going. I always found, first thing in the morning, shave, then go for a walk or lift little weights, boiled eggs for breakfast, some more weights, then lunch, some more weights, then go Gaming then a dinner, some more weights. Need a goal though, so best get weighed first, once a week, and once he see's results he'll drop that weight, feel better and be healthier. It's a lot of little good things, little weights, cut out the junk food apart from a cheat day. Wish him the best, he has a Fan in Me anyway.
That documentary made you look like such an ass the scene that you were talking to your friends, they looked miserable like you were putting them out. This was a great friendly conversation that shows how human you are. It sucks that didn’t make it in the documentary.
I think this clip goes to show that if boogie wanted to start a podcast with or without his friends that it would be a successful one. Go for it boogie!
I think Mike should've put this in the documentary, because the entire doc lacked grounding or people that are close to you that have known you for years, and can provide context. I also think your friends are really thoughtful. I have followed you since the mid-2000s when your Francis sketch went viral on Ebaumsworld, and I had never before seen you and your close friends having such a frank and open conversation.
So if Boogie needs to connect with someone who has same issues then all he needs to do is to find a petite 20-year old girl who has divorced once, lost 200k on sex workers and 700k on crypto. Good luck finding that unicorn Boogie! 😄
It makes me so happy that you have friends like this. It makes so much more sense that you are still around because you have great friends to keep you grounded as much as they can. Shout out to Jacob too, he’s always been a real one.
I don't know what you guys are going through. If I don't exercise 4-5 days a week, I feel like a failure and I'm 6'0, 185 pounds, 37 years old and still in good enough shape to play 5v5 with a high school boys varsity basketball team twice a week in the morning for an hour. My knees aren't what they used to be, but you gotta just do it. You gotta spend one hour a day sweating and breathing hard. Find SOMETHING you actually enjoy doing. I love playing basketball, volleyball, swimming, SOMETHING. Thing is I played from the time I was 6 through college so just playing games and sports were part of my life. If you have kids you gotta sign them up for stuff even if they don't like it. It has to be a habit to get up and move around. That said, I LOVE video games, fantasy, sci fi...................and eating pizza and Mt Dew.........but there is a line you have to drawn between hedonism and hard work.
Totally agree with you boogie. For me as a skinny dude. I still unfortunately have a lot health problems due to my family having a kidney disease that got passed down. But I agree you find people that are similar to you and can talk about things cause I have a couple healthy friends and I don’t talk to them as much as I would someone that had similar issues and interest as me. But it’s been hard to make friends and even find a girlfriend cause of my health issues. So me and you have a lot more in common than you think. Also I’m too skinny 120 pounds 6,1 height I need to gain weight and always feel ugly cause I’m legit a stick. So your like the bigger older me and find that we have a lot in common and find you as a friend I’ve never met but have seen on the internet for years
In the Mike Clum documentary, there was a part where a guy said he didnt think you and your youtube channel could make a comeback. Or something of that nature. I think that's a load of bull. I believe most people can bounce back and that goes for Boogie and his channel. Everyone has issues in life! Nobody is perfect! So, how does Boogie make a comeback? By doing what he is doing the past few weeks. Posting good, quality content and getting back to the Boogie and content that everyone loved in the first place! Keep up the good work Boogie! I enjoy your content. Dont worry about the haters, just keep moving forward. There are a ton of people making money off your name with their click bait titles and feeding off the doc, but it is what it is. Just do you brother and keep grinding!
I think to an extent, he can bounce back. But he has to stick this trend out and not go back into baiting drama with other youtubers, whether it's on or off his channel.
I feel the two friends of Boogie in this video actually seem genuine albeit sad, but not bad people Boogie on the other hand looks like he’s just got them there to tell the internet how great he is, it’s blatant as fuck
