In this video, James Bender (Way Point Survival) and I build a bridge out of thin, dried spruce saplings. It is possible to build this bridge using only a Swiss Army Knife.

The bridge and participation are really cool, I watch his channel too. The bridge was actually good, I was finding the second tripod strange, and yes, I was right haha, but it seems very useful for smaller rivers. The first time I camped, I didn't get as far as I wanted because the river was very deep and I didn't want to get everything wet, maybe one day I'll try to do one of these, someone has to do the trails, right? Who would have thought that we can still be pioneers today?

Maybe a second- longer- pole to help push the tripod frame into place, lashed lower might have helped? Once wet though, may as well work from the water and make it easier. Good project!

Ich wollte schon Kommentieren: Wie einst Cäsars Legion die in 10 Tagen eine Brücke über den Rhein Bauten ohne dabei Nass zu werden und schon waren die Planschgeräusche zu Hören.😂😂🎉🤗 Top gemacht und ein wirklich Cooles Projekt! Ich und mein Sohn Lieben es Projekte aus deinen Büchern und RU-vid Videos im Wald nachzubauen! Die Brücke wird ganz sicher, zumindest in Kleinen Format, ein Cooles Ding worauf wir uns schon freuen zum nachbauen. Ich denke eine Brücke über die Kander wie mein Sohn (8 Jährig) vorgeschlagen hat wird es wohl nicht werden, aber vieleicht über den Lötscbenbach bei uns im Dorf neben dem Wasserrad, sofern wir das Ding jemals hinkriegen werden😜 Vielen Dank das du deine Skills und deine Kreativität mit uns teilst.

Nice to see you two together doing a project together. "Get over the river with dry feet" - lol - instead you were soaked completely. Refreshing these days, isn't it? I think, you'd be better off, if you a) lashed the first tripod to a sturdy pole, pounded in the river bank to stabilize it against pull and push forces, and b) take the second tripod upside-down to the end of the first boards and let the A-frame fall into the river, holding the third pole and erect it - being about 4m long, it should be standing in the right place then without need of adjustment (hope the poles weren't too dry and float away). To install the second set of boards a rope would be helpful that runs over a pulley or carabiner at the top of the second tripod back to the first one to tie the set of boards to it and lift the end up to the A-frame. Better luck the next time.
