Summary:
1. Beans - We wanted to start with one that isn’t too scary if you’re new to the world of healthy eating. You can find a million and one awesome and easy recipes that can help you incorporate more beans into your daily meal plan.

This was great, I have been researching "can you lower blood sugar by drinking water?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Just wonderful, I have been researching "what should i eat to maintain my blood sugar?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Lemons and limes as well. I am uncertain which is the better to consume. I experiment with how I consume lemon and lime from lime/lemon water before meals, lemon/lime-water between meals to hydrate, frozen whole and grated lemon-lime in water or just squeezed juice in water or mixed/blended lemon/lime to puree frozen and then grated in water or grapefruitjuice to be diluted with sparkling mineral water. Garlic is also important for its active component allicin. You bring out more allicin by letting your cut, sliced or mashed garlic breathe for 10-15 minutes before cooking with it. Beetroot, beetrootjuice and beet-tops are also really good. Mushrooms because you can up vitamin d2 with letting them soak up sunshine. You can basically store some sunshine in your mushrooms. Meat of all kinds not just fish.

I was diagnosed with prediabetes after which I changed my eating lifestyle. Now my blood sugar is back to normal and I've sworn never to eat the way I used to. Guys,I cannot overemphasize the importance of eating right. Not only with diabetes. These RU-vid tutorials have worked for me better than the drug trained doctors. Thank so much ladies and gentlemen keep up the good work of teaching us to live healthy lives.

When I ate these high carb foods like beans, oatmeal and fruit, my blood sugar numbers went off the charts in a horrible way. I went keto and lowered my numbers and lost weight!!

I’m super confused by this list. I was told beans, oatmeal and fruit were not friendly to diabetes. Like you, I am finding success with the keto diet and exercise. But I use to eat the things they’re saying are fine and I became diabetic.

Yep. I eat 11 out of 13. I plan on adding the other two in the near future. Latest and recent a1c came in at 6.6. I've been diabetic for 19 years.

Blood thinners such as warfarin limit the amount of green leafy veggies your to eat. I love them all. Lisinopril limits you from consuming grapefruit and grapefruit juice. I like everything on your list. Thanks for posting.

I have some dark chocolate every day. I have 85% and higher and have oatmeal with blueberries most mornings. Love salmon with brussel sprouts or greens. Good luck everyone.

Some these foods are ok for some people. Not all are ok and some in moderation. Oatmeal in small amounts. Also, except for berries, watch the fruit! Many are high in sugar. Each diabetic must pick what they can tolerate best! Intermittent fasting works really well! Eat during 8, don't eat for 16 hours. Burns fat off your cells and improves insulin resistance! Two thumbs up!

you get the best results out of the most basic veggies, except maybe for potatoes. Tomato, onions, spinach, mushrooms and cabbage are great foods to include in your diet. i substitute rice with grated cabbage or cauliflower. avos are a bit pricy where i live, so i only buy one or two as an occasional treat. i can feel the difference it does to my body.

Hi.. make video on Indian millets.. in India it's usually called "Siri Dhanya" meaning "rich millets".. these grains include Sorgam, Branyard Millet, Little Millet, Proso Millet, Pearl Millet, Fox tail Millet, Ragi or Finger Millet and more. My husband is type one diabetic.. I make tortilla with Sorgam flour and his sugar level goes in a beautiful straight line.. no hike at all.. we check in CGM. We are Indian vegetarian. I make Dosa and tortilla using these millets. It's amazing. They say it's very rich in fiber and protein. I need.more inform about these.. looking forward on you. Thank you 🙏🙏😊

Caroline Gregory. I was a Type 2 diabetes and I ate all these foods. With exercise and eating right and with the right amount of food to eat and getting rest and sleep, I started to feel good and my AIC readings went from 9 to 5. no more medicine. It took a mind-set process and change of eating and lifestyle.

I was diagnosed diabetes last month, im on diet, i replaced Cauli rice with white rice , and without sugar now, and i avoid some fruits that are sweet, no chocolate drinks and milk tea....no soda anymore,, omg, couldnt believe i lost 10 kilos in just a month . You can eat steel cut oats which has low glycemuc index. You can start taking sugar knocker ayurvedic capsules. It helped me to lower my Hba1c from 8 to 6.8 within 4 months.

I agree about some of those foods being two high carb. There is a recipe for keto porridge made with nuts and seeds. I do think eating some beans like organic black beans are healthy.

We do exactly all that. And, interval fasting once a week. Breakfast - after that nothing. Result: The tests each quarter went down, from 7.2 to 6.2, 6.1, 6.0 and recently 5.9

I did enjoy this video and l do eat the salmon fresh shrimps and others too and my pink grapefruits l eat one almost everyday and the fresh oranges too and the greens spinach cabbage broccoli aand even cauliflower and collard green which are my favorite. I have Auntie that has type II diabetes and she eats all of these, for long time she didn't eat eggs, for whatever reason and her BGL and A1C skyrocketed and she said never again. The tomatoes, she likes to slice them have them with a tiny bit of salt and pepper and some cottage cheese. Between my Auntie and my grandpa its hard to keep blueberries around that isn't no joke!

I just got diagnosed with diabetes 2 yesterday and I'm on some drug... I forgot the name as I just got them today, how are you eating? Can I use those zero sugar syrups for coffee? I'm just all over the place and still in shock but I'll be damned if I'm on medication after next year...the nurse sat there and told me I have to take it for the rest of my life...no way am I doing that. Do you eat oatmeal? Sorry,I'm still in shock at the news... and on top of that I'm anemic.

Good Vid for people just getting started on a healthy type two eating regime. Knowing that EVERYONE is a little different, some folks here need to loose the dogmatic outlook and understand that some folks CAN have certain foods as well as some who cannot. IMO clips like this get people thinking and help them to become more proactive with their food intake. Open mind folks.👍

These foods really help my doc wanted me to take statins I said no changed my diet lost 2 stones in weight got my blood pressure down and my cholesterol to 4.8 took about 18 months just doing it nice and steady I'm 65 and feel great

@@gaillam9574 I carried on as normal really ate meat etc but loads more fruit and veg ,oats on a morning and stopped eating junk food. Not hard really, just smaller portions of normal food and a portion of will power

I have watched lots of stuff about what is good and bad for diabetics and some of these foods have been regularly recommended to avoid. The worst being whole grains.

Advise and experts for diabetes change every 24 months. What is good today will be horrible next month and so on and so on. I do what works for me regardless of the expert's comments below.

Avoid oatmeal and whole grains spikes my blood sugar. I also find avocado oil to be good and can be stored in the refrigerator.

oatmeal isn't bad when its just the plain oatmeal, add a few nuts and blueberries and its high fiber and delicious. it affects people differently, so it may affect your blood sugar but not my moms.

Try oat bran it’s actually very good, remember it’s all about fiber. Fiber and soluble fiber will knock down the carb count.

All Oatmeal is bad because once the body breaks it down it becomes sugar and it will spike your blood sugar. I have tested every type on my husband (Type 2) and best friend (Type 1 Brittle) both of whom are diabetics and oatmeal was the worst things we tried.

Correct natural oatmeal is great for diabetics and for cholesterol. Oatmeal that contains fake sugary fruit and sugary yogurt is what will spike your sugars

Thank you so much for this video. I was pre-diabetic for a year and a half, and I asked and asked for help with understanding it and how to eat right, but my doctor just kept saying, "we'll get to that" and she never did. All I knew to do was to try to research about foods that lower blood sugar and cholesterol. I dropped all the sugar in my diabetic and most all carbs..I didn't eat anything except vegetables and wild salmon till I was sick of it and I walked everyday trying to lose weight. I ended up a diabetic anyway and I don't understand why. Most of the things that you had here, that's what I eat now, with the exception of the nuts, and that's just because I can't chew them. But I am still having problems with my sugar being high and I don't know why...I watch a lot of your videos and that's how I'm learning more about what I need to do or don't do and maybe I will get a handle on it soon. Thank you again so very much...

How old are you? You need to report the doctors you’ve dealt with. You should NOT have to come to a RU-vid video to help you figure out how to handle your diabetes. This just annoyed me. Just wow!

Fallow a chanel of someone who is type 2 diabetic I had my problems I am stopping drinking any sugary drink any bread and banana it spikes my blood sugar level like crazy I eat a lot of fruit like Berry strawberry I drink almond milk soy milk not regular milk because that spikes my bloodsugar

a lot of this info is good, but i would not eat eggs. these guys have some good info, but obviously don’t do nearly enough research on what they talk about. eggs have been shown time and time again to be incredibly harmful for people with diabetes and is a food that ups your risk for diabetes as well.

1.) Beans 2.) Blueberries, Raspberries 3.) Oatmeal 4.) Eggs 5.) Oranges/Grapefruit (personally, I'm thinking these guys are a bit further down the road with diabetes) 6.) Broccoli, similar veggies 7.) Olive Oil 8.) Salmon 9.) Dark Leafy Greens (Kale, Collards, Spinach, etc.) 10.) Walnuts 11.) Whole Grains (see oranges and grapefruit) 12.) Tomatoes 13.) Dark Chocolate (again, something consumed more when the situation is a bit better)

Just because carbs are in it doesn't mean you should avoid it. Carbs are essential for us and saturated fat doesn't allow insulin to enter the cell so glucose spike, therefore you should avoid that rather than carbs which people like the blue zones eat in high amount and live very long lives. I also disagree with the 4th one because they increase the risk for diabetes.

@@grandpa1011 Eggs do not increase the risk of diabetes. That is patently false. As for the other stuff, nah, its more the other way around. The good stuff is/are exercise, regular sleep, water, fiber, healthier fats, some protein for satiation, omega 3's, bioflavinoids, vitamins, minerals, etc. The bad stuff are refined sugars/high fructose corn syrup, no fiber, artificial/processed stuff, trans fats, no exercise, not enough sleep, and alcohol/smoking/tobacco/drugs. Grains/starches, fruits, veg., beans, nuts, seeds, meats, dairy etc., all are fine to eat. Its a question of quantity/how often each of these foods are consumed, etc. rather than food groups being all bad or all good, etc. Nutrition absolutely depends on the unique health/bodies of each individual. Everyone is a little bit different...

Some of these foods are too high in carbs for diabetics....carbs should be kept as low as possible and ditch the fructose, berries should be the way to go for fruit

Exactly. The only citrus fruits that don't contain too much sugar are lemons and limes. Berries are good but only a couple ounces per day.
