I would also be wary of answering this question early on as well, thus I believe I would follow up with my own question for her…How much do you feel a future boyfriend must make as a minimum? And as long as her response is a reasonable minimal amount, I would probably simply respond, that is about what I make. Mrs. Rick asked me some tricky questions when we were dating. She wanted to know how much I liked rice and if I would be sad if I had it every day for the rest of my life. Also, if her long Filipina hair accidentally tried to strangle me at night would I insist that she cut it short. And would I take her on a cruise for our 50th anniversary (she likes to plan ahead). I have eaten rice most every day since we've been married, I've never asked her to cut her hair short regardless of how much of a pain it may have been in some circumstances, and a few months ago we went on a Caribbean cruise for our 50th anniversary. 😍😍
LOL Nice story. I remember when I first married my Filipina I told her that I didn’t think I could eat rice everyday with every meal. She gave me a serious stern look and said “That’s not funny.”. A couple of months later I sat down for dinner and complained “Rice, rice, rice, do we have to have rice with every meal?”. Without even looking up at me she just nonchalantly said “Shut up potato head.”. 😂😂😂 Over the years that has changed for two reasons. The first is I am a significantly better cook than her and do most of the cooking. The second is she is vain about her figure and in her mid thirties discovered that keeping her sexy figure was incompatible with eating a lot of rice. It is interesting Filipinas love for rice. If our house caught on fire and we could both run back in to grab just one thing I would run in and grab our small safe with our important papers. I have no doubt she would run inside and grab our rice cooker. 😂😂😂
I agree with most of what you said but I dated 2 Filipina's and only been to the Phillipines once and one of the 2 girls was OFW in China. Both were long time LDR and I made efforts to learn basic Tagalog and studied the country and culture therefore the Filipina's liked my type of experience that I have had. It seemed to be a healthy mix of knowledge without any big body counts and not been to the Phils that much. For me, it was mostly a lot of effort to fit in and never judge.
I also dated 2 pinays at the same time, they were civil to each other but as time went on tempers flared and the fight I never wanted to happen happened 😢
LOL I courted my Filipina a year and a half before we got married and she never asked about money or asked me for money though I would send her modest amounts so she would have the loads to call me regularly and so she could go to the movies or pocket change but again modest amounts. About 6 months into the relationship she started hinting around about wanting to know what I was earning and I wouldn’t tell her. 😂 I did tell her after we were married that my gross salary was $4000 a month which, 20 years ago was just above the U.S. median household income at that time. She thought $4k per month (200,000 PhP/ mo) was a huge income as that was more per month than her father earned in a year. Unfortunately it didn’t take her long to realize that though certainly a decent wage it was far from wealthy considering the cost of living in the U.S. So though she’s never really been good about managing money she’s always deferred to me on money matters. Which is a bit odd as she has a business degree and I’m a science geek. Now 20 years later she has blossomed in her career in Hotel management. She currently earns, when adjusted for inflation a little more than I did when we met. I used to tease her that the day she started earning more than me I would retire. Last year when we did our taxes and due to me investing heavily for my retirement her adjusted income before taxes was just a little more than mine. So I started teasing her that I was going to retire. A week later I got promoted at work and was back to earning more than her. She then got even with me by teasing me that I couldn’t retire now. Oh well they say that the one who laughs last laughs best. 😊
Hello Steph, good video about common sense information. When dating anyone it's just better to to be honest in what and who you are looking for. Asking questions is part of dating and learning about someones interests and what they want too.
It's more a concern if she's not trying to have you meet her family lol. Though it's really awkward to meet them AND their brother AND Lola AND nephew at the same time :P I never had anyone distance from me after learning I'm not religious. I think they are more concerned about the kind of values that you have. Interest in baby or no is a good early question so nobody wastes time on what is a pretty important compatibility item.

Yes and no. There have been plenty of horrible people that claim to be religious, but religion shows you believe in a higher power, not you are the king of the universe. And if she is religious and you are not it can, not will, but can, be a source of conflict in a long term situation. Just like if you like dogs. Or do you get along with your family.

My answers: Don't believe in any God, earn enough to support myself and my hobbies, don't mind meeting her family once we've established a connection and are both clearly interested, single digit body count, never been married, don't have kids but if you happen to be the right one, I might want to have them. My turn: tattoos? piercings? married? kids? ex still in contact? social media history? body count? willing to submit to my authority? virgin? has a job? FYI: I will NOT date any single mother period!
