Guys, I understand Korean fairly well (studied for three years and some months now) and they weren't actually making fun of his accent or what he does; it was more like they couldn't believe that a 13 year old could be, or sound, that mature...like a kid that young talking like someone their age (the hosts are all around 40 or older). As for my views, I fully support this young man; he's passionate, driven and intelligent, and clearly a talented trot singer too! Of course, he really should focus on his own safety by using the appropriate equipment, and it would be ideal for everyone if he focused on his studies just enough to get into a good agricultural high school (and hopefully, university).
@astricalexVODS
@astricalexVODS 6 лет назад
Sarah he called himself a country bumpkin. He knows the way he speaks isn't normal for someone his age. They weren't mocking his dialect, more of the way he speaks like an old man. That's why they said "he sounds like a friend of mine". I don't even speak Korean that well and even I could understand that, the OP of this post studied it for years so if anyone knows what they meant then this guy would.

Ashemarine Okay so all I’m wondering abt rn is, did u self study korean or did u go to an after school tutoring?
@h.i.m.3200
@h.i.m.3200 6 лет назад
I support OP. He talks completely like an old man. It's hard to explain but it's true. And when they say "country man", sometimes what they're saying is "ajae" which like is a diminutive of "ahjussi". So basically an older man. They had a lot of people with accents before and they did not make fun of them. It's just his manner of speaking. Makes sense if he's always around his grandparents. Edit: To add to that, the MC in orange (forgot his name, part of the Cultwo duo IIRC) keeps saying how the son feels like his "friend" (another way of saying someone's your age), said the teacher who let him go for his goat's birth must have called him her elder, and how the way he talks is intimidating (like, he sounds older than the MC is so he can't talk back)...etc. Seojung (sp?) from gugudan speaks in a similar way as an example. She was raised by her grandmother.
@zczll4512
@zczll4512 6 лет назад
Sera I’m pretty sure whichever country you are living in, if a kid speaks like a really old man, everyone especially adults will find him surprising, hilarious and cute. I’m Korean and trust me this kid has a really strong accent and speaks Dialects. Also his tone and the words he is using are quite old fashioned. However People in the video are obviously not making fun of him but are astonished at his behaviours and the way he talks. Also, this is an entertaining program. The reason people are watching the show is in order to have fun. I’m not saying that an mc does not take people’s concern seriously but still he should provide some funny scenes in order to make the audience to give a reason they are there for. If you want to find a program that takes people’s concern super seriously, I would recommend you to watch a documentary program🤣🤣

He seems like a good kid. His work ethic when it comes to farming is very admirable. However, I understand his Mother's worry. While he may already have a life goal, he is still very young. A healthy balance between maintaining his grades and the farm would be ideal. We change as we age. He still has a lot of time on his hands so it is good to keep his options open.

It's not about being good at studying, the thing is knowledge is power, and being a farmer isn't just about farming. Firstly, there is economics, even if you farm, if you don't have buyers to buy your product, then you are going down. So you have to learn about buyers and suppliers, and not just locally but also internationally, because of the imports and exports business. Secondly, there is legal issues, there are legal requirements and laws about farming that you need to know and in order to expand your farm, buying new land, these are legal processes

the first thing that came up to me was that he could actually study something with regards to improving farming since he is so passionate bout it. he could take up a university course that studies smart farming, urban farming, bio tech etc. its combines his dream of farming and study/get a good earning like what his mom wants.

That's why he needs to study. So he can learn more about agriculture and safety. It's not that he can't learn that without conventional schooling but it seems he doesnt want to learn it in any way. Hopefully it works out for him, he seems like a hard worker.

i think he is a great son! he is drawn to cultivate the land following his grandparents' footsteps. it is his passion so I think he should do what he loves to do as it is not harming him...being a farmer is healthy...enjoying mother nature's gift to mankind...unlike others who are stuck in the office, stuffy rooms and stressing over passing exams...if he is keen then he can make a name for himself as a farmer. not all younger generation are keen to do farming...but this little lad is enjoying it. education is not all about learning from the books and sitting in the classrooms.

She seems to be a very sweet person, they both looks incredibly nice, some of the nicest people who came to this show ever. But I just wish she would support him with her whole heart... He would be so happy then. I don't want him to ever feel insecure about doing the job he loves.

Christopher Musibay money isn't the issue ever haha, as a society we should support people doing what they like, not doing whatever makes the most money. A farmer, especially with a farm as large and lucrative as his, makes enough for a modest life (aka they have enough for necessities, and a little left over for whatever else they want).

Since most countries needed vegetations and all and a high rate of wanting of resources. Farmers would probably make tons of money cuz of that

honestly I don't see much of a problem...yeah maybe he should try harder in school and spend less time farming now because he is in school and at least some time should be given to studying...but if this is his dream, then let him....yeah, okay, farming is not the ideal job you'd want for a child in the age of tech because you don't know if it'll be economically wise, but the profession itself is very important and we do need the younger generation to take interest in things like framing or we won't have food once the older generation...dies

The real concerns of this issue are.....the viewpoints of South Korea people's towards a teenager that goes waaaay productive at his age that not involving dancing, rapping, singing, entertaining, acting, ass licking, twerking, plastic surgery. Farming is another forms of humanity approach to science involving flora and fauna knowledge and should be preserve and improve. He's definitely don't belong in South Korea where visuals and false prestige over the real reality of what humankind really need for their preservation of the species. Get out of there kid.

Hmmm that’s a bit overboard what you’re saying honestly but you’re not wrong either, that’s not only in Korea but that’s true even in other countries, those kind of works, manual works tend be seen as a failure whereas top university are on the spotlight. I’m on engineering school actually but i definitely praise all farmers and all other work in general there should be no distinction and classification for work. I’m at ease with mathematics but i would be totally clueless if i had to work in a farm. But the blame is not on her either, that’s just how that works now.

He's actually a good kid and there's nothing wrong with what he's doing rather than bumming around or having bad addictions like some other kids. It's rare to see kids being so hardworking at an early age but when it is school time, he should also focus on school activities and study. He needs to balance things first until he graduates high school then go full on farming after ☺

He is so kind, so sweet and very humble too. I totally understand him in a sense that I have similar experience as him being born and growing up in the small village in countryside farmland and doing farm work with parents since birth. The bond with plants and animal is no joke. There is no bond as such. And the nature, getting up early in the morning like 3-4 a.m. is just normal and it's really refreshing. Now, living in the urban city here in Hong Kong, I miss my old self. I hope I can continue my simple life doing farming and planting more trees. Keep it up. You are a humble human being who live to protect others lives. 😇

I don't blame him for farming. His mom is probably worried about him not experiencing how to be a "normal" teenager. Nobody is normal, we all do things differently. South Korea is pretty urbanized and industrialized. Many of their ranks in many category are in the top 1-20s at least. That should be a worry because in every country there are rich and poor farmers. He should at least go to agricultural school.

I think he's really into farming is not a problem even if he's only 14. He seems knows what he does and it really is fascinating to see teenager his age already set his dream and want to pursue it. Just lije what Shindong said, there are many people who's in their 30s but still haven't decided their dreams are (me included T_T). The only tiny problem is he gained too much confident of what he currently doing and he feel right, then rejected his mom's suggestion to study harder for a better future (typical teenager issue lol). Well, for me, this boy is really talented in farmin since he passionately farms himself. This made him look really cool! Keep up what you are doing, boy! And dont forget to do your job as a student as well so you can be a great farmer in the future!^^

He could study in the agricultural field. At least that would satisfy his mom and it'll be a huge advantage for him as well. I love what he's doing, he's so passionate about it which is really admirable

He has a passion. He is logical and good at his passion. Apart from taking a bit more safety precautions, I don't see why he should stop. Understand his mum is worried about his future, but his future seems quite bright. He could become a very successful farmer.

From all the cases that i've seen from this TV show this young man was the best child & he did positive thing to help his family. Nothing wrong about farming, his mother just worried too much.

So Korea doesn't know that without the agriculture industry they'd have no food to eat at the table? They should be happy there are still people interested to work in the field because right now it is slowly beconing neglected due to modern tech. He's not even lazy. He's really cool

Study won’t always define you a better future. It’s how you enjoy what you’re doing and make u happy wit it. He knows what you’re doing. He’s looking happy.

I feel like I'm the only one who somewhat relate with the guy hahaha I've always complained to my friends that I want to be a farmer, I want to take care of animals and plants and agriculture, and they always think I'm joking because my environment is the city life and they can't imagine I'd be able to xD Although now I say it as a joke, I think I actually meant it long ago haha So I'm really happy watching this story

The only problem I see here is how often he gets hurt or nearly gets hurt and he doesn't tell people. he mentioned towards the end that the tractor flipped and almost trapped him underneath and he would have died, but he speaks of it so calmly. I can appreciate that this kid has a goal. He's 15, but because of the Korean age system (where you're counted from age 1 at birth and your age changes at the beginning of the year even before your birthday), he could be 13-14. I'm thinking 14. At that age, he deserves to keep doing what he wants, but I don't think he should sacrifice his grades if he can help it, and he should tell his family when accidents happen. I can see why the mom got concerned.

This young man is very happy to find his talent - which is agriculture. It is possible to turn agriculture into something profitable, maybe the mom should encourage him to study to go into an agricultural university which would help him a lot and cultivate his talents more.

👏👏 He is more mature than those adults. you are already a good person and farmer. I wish these people would stop laughing and making wisecrack remarks. this is not a concern, it is a blessing and an honorable lifestyle. The only drawback is that it’s not lucrative money wise and it’s backbreaking work. Going to agricultural academies might be the ticket for the future, as he could devise better ways to farm and therefore making a good living, enough to support a family . Lord knows we need more farmers in this ever expanding population. So I say give this boy/man lots of encouragement for his endeavors 👏👏. With love from 🇺🇸 🙆🏻‍♀️❣️
