I may have watched too many Mc Nally shorts before bed, I was expecting a sharp impact as well since the brass one looks a bit like a Master(un)lock 605
Factory 1, "We'll make it with this flaw, you make it that flaw". Factory 2, "Good idea, the thief will have to carry 2 covert instruments. Keep'em guessing ". Both factories chuckle, shake hands, part ways.
I was 100% expecting LPL to say: "These are Hermex sliding padlocks... They can be opened with Hermex sliding padlocks" followed by him banging them together McNally style to open them.
after years of lockpicking, it would be pretty boring doing the same little things all over again. Everyone does their locks down, and he could basically open anything. I guess he is starting to work on bank doors, an advanced safe system, and probably hacking digital doors, since that could be thenically be calling lockpicking 😂
Honestly, for once it's a redeemable situation. If the two factories compare notes, they can borrow each other's solution to their flaws. Only problem is that those are probably not the ONLY flaws.
Might be that Hermex is just buying up Chinese locks and having their name slapped on it. They'd have zero input into the design and manufacture, they'd just be a branded reseller. It's an old practice.
These look as safe as the lock that came with my 6 year olds princess diary. I don't read the diary, I just wanted to see how good a kids tiny lock is. It can be opened with a hex key. So about the same as these ones here.
I purchased the beginner set from Covert Instruments a few days ago. It arrived today and I picked my first lock in about 30mins. Showed my 14 year old daughter and she picked her first lock in about 15 mins. Great videos!!!!
Glad I'm not the only one. My teen daughter has started besting my times as well. Talk about a proud moment, that's almost as good as when the kids realize they can change the toilet paper!
That was exactly my thinking, both factories should have the correct pantone colour for their card backs. Absolutely mad that they're such different shades of yellow
What's the problem with different shades/colors - it's different products! (One is 60 mm, the other is 75 mm, and they are made from different materials.) The big problem is that both locks have laughable flaws.
@@runeodin7237 Because real brands have very specific colours they associate with. You won't find green DeWalt tools, or a blue CVS Pharmacy logo, because the particular yellow and red is part of their brand identity. If not even a registered trademark. Given that they don't care for stuff though in Econ 101 class, it's no wonder they completely dropped the ball on actually making a semi-decent product.
Hey LPL would you ever consider releasing a book, a sort of pocket guide of (X) lock, type, layout, build, materials, blown up images of it disassembled a few common attacks it is susceptible to and your comments. Basically one of your videos on a page. Love the channel, and have learned alot from you. Merry Christmas.
I bought a lock once…it was in 4th grade when the school let us start riding are bikes to school. It was one of the barrel locks with a four digit code. We sat there at lunch and we all took turns opening it without knowing the combination. Took 4th graders about 5 mins a try to open it. That was back in about 1977. I have a bike lock now called my apartment. Which has fire SaFtY doors so no security other than the town I live in is an old folks retirement village with a negative crime rate. BeWell and StaySafe Everyone ✌️💚🖖
Masterlock finally found a way to prevent LPL to emberras them any further: a hitman. Let's hope LPL is on an amazing vacation with his family and will return soon :)
Well, if the current trends are anything to go by, he is either preparing his 4 hour "I'm not a plagiarist" video, has fled RU-vid because he actually did actually plagiarize all his lock picks from other indie lock pickers, or he has just decided to retire. Other thought. He found a lock he couldn't beat and is still working on it. Hopefully, that is the case, so we can all have security again.
Can you throw locks that you like in a playlist or on your website? I get hesitating to endorse locks when no lock is perfect, but highlighting a few that make sense within their usecase and perform without issue would be more valuable than dunking on the many, many locks that do not. A "Hall of fame" playlist would go hard.
This channel has added to my daily amusement. All I have to do is go for walk around any local self storage facility and have a quick look at the locks on the units!
This guy is great. Not gonna lie, aI go straight to his videos when I am in a bad mood. Listening to him talk while destroying any lock I see in the video is absolutely therapeutic lol. Definitely my modern day hero lol😂😂😂😂
As always you make it look so simple. I've been wondering if you might do a video of the newer "credit card" type locks, the kind with the different sized holes that need to line up with the internal mechanism. Thanks, I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
I'm mostly astonished there are so many different locks out there. While it wouldn't be as entertaining, it might be easier if LPL showed us locks that are worth our time vs ones that aren't - lol. At this point I'm led to believe that the only secure 'lock' is to weld shut my doors and safety boxes... which may be the actual point.
Hiya LpL, just wondering if you are going to do a destructive video anytime soon, miss these . Such as the one with gallium and an aluminum lock.. 😂 that was fascinating... Either way thanks for the content. Btw have you heard from Bosnian bill at all ? How's he doing?
I think the reason we hadn’t heard from you, LPL for a while, is perhaps you were locked out of your house? 😂. In all seriousness though, hope everything is ok, and I think I speak for everyone when I say we’re thrilled that you’re back. 😅
