"Did someone say steak?!" - The looks on your faces were classic!
@Sundownersailsagain
@Sundownersailsagain 8 лет назад
OMG....I LOVE steak. Out traveling on the sailboat good steaks are hard to find, we ate fish 5 days a week for the last 5 month we were out there...The best fish in the world, but still and all, nothing beats a good steak. I was so grateful.

HaPpY BiRtHdAy! Running at altitude is very challenging. Good to hear that you are keeping up the workouts on the road. Keeps you looking ten years younger. looking forward to the Montana videos.

Thanks!! I have found out quickly that the altitude really does make things harder. At least it's that and not me being Terribly out of shape:) Montana has been incredible. We are uploading our first video as we speak.

Thank you! I think I have pretty much lost my tan now...lol. In just a couple months we'll be back in the BLAZING SUN AND HEAT of Panama and the tan will return rather quickly, too quickly really.

Out West, a National Park Pass - $80 - is well worth it ... Jewel Cave, Mount Rushmore, anything Federal -- Free. PLEASE upload all or some or those (20) possible camping locations so that others can find them ! ! :-) The year I went - Going To The Sun road was not open till July 4 weekend -- try Grand Tetons and Yellowstone first - truly Amazing ! !
@Sundownersailsagain
@Sundownersailsagain 8 лет назад
HI!! We have the National Parks Pass and it has helped us get into quite a many places but Rushmore's parking wasn't free and the free part of Jewel Cave was only for the 30 min one room tour. We sprang for the full tour, which you have to Pay! Tate has reviewed most of the free campsites we've stayed at but I'm also keeping a tally of them to post on our blog in the future, when we have time and reliable internet for a longer blog post. We have heard the Sun Road is still closed but we are going to enjoy what Glacier has to offer in the mean time.
@barb9124
@barb9124 8 лет назад
the "squirrel " you saw was a chipmunk, and Tate you were right, it was an elk. It may be a few weeks too early for Glacier. the elevation is high and it will still be fairly cold. Perhaps a trip to Yellowstone first might be a good idea. You should beat the crowds at Yellowstone, then head up to Glacier. If you make it to Washington, hit me up, I'd love to play tour guide.
@Sundownersailsagain
@Sundownersailsagain 8 лет назад
Thanks for the tips on Glacier, we've been hearing much the same from many. As far as yellowstone goes... Well we're saving that for another part of the trip. I know that sounds odd as we're so close now but you'll understand later. And yes... The chipmunk. Dani had told me it was a chipmunk but I thought it must be a squirrel. There was a positive infestation of the little things in the black hills.

As a side note, we'll be in Washington pretty soon. Where in the state do you stay? We'll def be heading to Seattle at some point as we have close friends there.

I'm in Vancouver. Its in the SW area of the state, across the Columbia river from Portland OR. Lots of stuff to check out around this area...Columbia river gorge, Mt. St Helens volcano. do a little online research and figure out what you would be interested in.

I don't know any good boondocking spots but if your in Seattle area check out Anacortes. Whidbey Island is beautiful and Deception pass is one of my favorite rides. You can take the bike (RV also just spendy )on the ferry system out to the San Juan Islands or over to Port Townsend.There is much to see and do in the NW.

I've never heard of Mitis. Looked them up online and they sound cool. Once we have free internet again we are going to look for some more music! (free and copyright cool music)

New subscriber. Just found you guys today. Love your work. Sadly you would have driven right by us on your way to Billing MT. Enjoy Montana. We will have our RV in the Great Falls MT area next week, if you have not left for Glacier by then?

Hi! Welcome aboard:) We took hwy 12 instead of interstate 90 and the drive was beautiful. We didn't go to Great Falls and instead are right by Kalispell near Glacier. Sorry we missed you! Montana is a GREAT state. We are in love.l

Welcome, and we are glad you love it. Cant wait to watch your video about it. We are in Great Falls now, and will be riding vintage motorbike this weekend with a club along the Missouri river. Its always a fun time.

That sounds awesome! We are camping right now in Flathead National Forest next to the river. So beautiful!

Does the slide not work? And that was a cow elk. Nice buff touchy. If you want to see them up close, go visit the south rim of the Grand Canyon. They are all over the place around the Village and they don't care if you're nearby, neither do the mule deer. Lots of Nat'l Forest in Northern AZ too that is easily accessible in that RV. I'm from Flagstaff, so I know the are pretty well. I'd offer you free hookups at my place here in rural Scottsdale, but it is going to be pretty toasty by the time you get down this way.
@Sundownersailsagain
@Sundownersailsagain 8 лет назад
The slide does work we just don't feel like messing with it each time on the off chance it gets stuck out and we can't get it out. We don't need it really. The RV is Gigantic compared to the boat so we would rather leave things as is as most of the time we are camping in a forest or off the road somewhere where help is hard to find. Cow Elk huh? I wonder if they are good to eat? We plan to be in Flagstaff in early September actually. Get in touch if you will be around and want to meet up.

Just a quick question, Why don't you guys use the slide out?
@Sundownersailsagain
@Sundownersailsagain 8 лет назад
Honestly we don't feel like messing with it and the RV is huge without it. It works but we just didn't want to risk something breaking so that we have to fix it in way out places.

Great video! I'm with Tate on the cave thing, don't like them much. Can you please post the GPS of the boondocking locations that you've found? To bad about the asshole camp host, but really, if the Ranger gave you permission then the camp host can get bent.
@Sundownersailsagain
@Sundownersailsagain 8 лет назад
We didn't actually take GPS coordinates of the place, but I'm sure I can google map it at some time. Its about four miles down Lightning Creek Rd. There were MANY spots a small RV or van could stay along that road. I was honestly shocked at how many spots there were. And no one, and I mean no one, was there.
