Did you notice any belt smell after you replaced the Vbelt? I just changed mine at the dealer and noticed a smell. Would that be just the belt breaking in or should I bring it back so they could check it out?
No, I didn't. Is it really bad; like it's burning??? Or just a rubber smell? They may have gotten some grease on the sheaves when installing the belt, and that may be making the belt slip some and produce the smell. If it doesn't go away soon, take it back!
bigwheelsturning didn't smell while I was riding. only when I stopped at the house did I smell it. I called the shop and they said that it was part of the break in. told me to bring it back if it kept smelling after 100 miles.
I ordered it from my dealer (who's now out of business, so's the one who sold me the scoot) for about $70 US. Your dealer should be able to get it for you. The US part# is LIT-11616-22-08 This is for the type III Tmax. Ask "Hughie" on the Maxi-Muppets site for info on the EU version.
