That's been one of the more useful things you've advised: putting blueberries in a post-workout shake (with EAAs and extra leucine and collagen, which I use to chase about four ounces of shrimp.) Wearing a CGM, I can literally see my blood sugar spike and come right back down in a matter of minutes. After it comes down to baseline, I have a keto meal.

I am not diabetic (that I know of) nor am I prediabetic (again, that I know of), but what I like about your videos on lowering blood sugar and insulin resistance is that the advice you share with us in them is good advice for anybody ... no matter how healthy you think you may or may not be.

Have you tried the strawberry- or chocolate-flavored vinegars that Thomas recommended a few days ago as substitutes for apple cider vinegar? Though apple cider vinegar doesn't have sugar, those alternatives that Thomas recommends have 10 grams of sugar per serving. That's the advice Thomas is sharing with you.
@lisabeck5582
@lisabeck5582 11 месяцев назад
@@gerawan No, I have not, but let me just say that this was not the nugget of information I took away from that video. I think what Thomas was trying to tell us is that some vinegars have more polyphenols than others. As for the sugar content, I do know that not all vinegars are created equal and that some have more sugar than others. Even apple cider vinegar has some sugar in it ... granted, it is such a small amount that it usually registers as zero on a nutrition label. And though I am no expert on the art of making vinegar, I do also know that there is some degree of flexibility or creativity when making it and that this can alter the amount of sugar that ultimately ends up in the product. I guess ultimately what you have to weigh is this: Does the amount of sugar in the vinegar outweigh the benefits you get from the polyphenols? Again, I am no expert on this, so I don’t have much more to say about it and I suspect the literature on this topic is pretty scarce, so I’m not even going to try to hunt it down. Ultimately, as with any information, an individual must decide what is best for him or her based on available research and information. As for Thomas , I like his recommendations. I’m not going to lie ... I don’t follow or try to implement everything he says. I think he’s a genuinely nice guy who is trying to help others be the best version of themselves they can be. If the titles to his videos are a little clickbaity and therefore, perhaps, slightly off topic to the material presented, so be it. I, myself, have been guilty of this in the past and, to be honest, I find it kind of amusing. It’s tough to be an influencer. It takes a lot of hard work and talent and strategy. It may look easy, but I’d be willing to bet it’s a lot harder than it looks. In a world of clickbait, maybe you’ve got to be a little clickbait, too, just to stay in the game. So, I try not to be too critical, especially when I’m getting something for free and especially when that person could be doing 101 other things instead of sharing his knowledge with me.

I never thought I was because I worked out a lot and was very muscular and fit. But sure enough I was hit hard outta nowhere with leaky kidneys etc. Just watched a video with a young very fit triathlete who just out of pure interest got himself a continuous glucose monitor...only to find out he was a fullblown type 2 diabeteic due to his high carb diet. It's a quiet disease that silently sneaks up on you.

If you want to get your blood sugar back up, then see Thomas's "Apple Cider Vinegar is NOT the Best Vinegar for Fat Loss" video where he recommends you use high-sugar vinegars instead of no-sugar apple cider vinegar. If you follow his advice by using those alternatives before each mean, you'll achieve consuming as much sugar as a can of Coke each day. That should help get your blood sugar back to where it was.
@Strengthandconditioning60
@Strengthandconditioning60 11 месяцев назад
Those numbers you're quoting are A1c number values and A1c is a measure of your average blood glucose over a 3 month period. No way your A1c dropped from 7.9 to 5.4 in 9 days from taking anything let alone berberine. It's literally impossible because of how A1c is measured

Hello Thomas, I didn't know you have diabetes. I have been following your channel for quite some time and I only just heard about it in this video. My diabetes is under control when I am on the keto diet and fasting on occasion.... But I did take 2 years off of dieting and I gained 10kg. I also take metformin, so my question is what to do or regulate my dosage ( I realise you are not a doctor ) when dieting well or fasting. Perhaps some you could talk about some personal experiences with this. Thanks.

The difference between 2 and 4 hours is huge. I have to wake up at 1am for work, formally 3am. I can't get to sleep earlier regardless of what I do. I was only getting 4 hours of sleep before, now only getting 2. I get to sleep in on weekends and get a good 6 hours. I can't sleep 8 regardless of how hard I try. I tried all the things.

Not to be too critical, I counted 16 life style changes, not 17. Getting a Continuous Glucose Monitor is really sub-part of "Monitor and Learn" it is a way to monitor and learn, not a separate life style change.

Just a few days ago in your "Apple Cider Vinegar is NOT the Best Vinegar for Fat Loss" video you recommended we sometimes substitute apple cider vinegar with high-sugar, flavored vinegars, that would amount to as much sugar as a Pepsi or Coke each day. But now you're saying it's beneficial to lower blood sugar? If so, then why did you suggest we consider flavored vinegars that have 10 grams of sugar per serving?

Vinegars are fermented which “eats” up the sugar and blueberries and the other flavours of vinegar he recommends have the high levels of polyphenols.
@gerawan
@gerawan 11 месяцев назад
@@camellia8625 So, are you saying that the labels on the vinegar are wrong? When they say they have 10 g of sugar per serving, they actually don’t? That seems so strange. I have seen vinegars that don’t indicate any sugar, but the two that I was referring to that Thomas recommends have 10 g of sugar per serving on the label. Are you saying that for vinegar we could ignore that? It’s not accurate?

That cgm is so expensive it is out of reach for 10y at least. I would pay 200 for 2 months right now. That would tell a lot when coming from prolonged fast and transforming for the new diet. Strips for Abbot Freestyle are like 20c per unit so there is no competition. You just need to hypothesize more when using strips. For that 400 you could get 2000 strips. Strips are really easy to use and they appear to be reliable and results are consistent. For example if value is 3.6 mmol/l it corresponds very well to faint feel in the morning if keto value is not enough. But it is not always like that. There is possible days when body is in balance and despite low G there is no faint what so ever. How can I produce those jump days with some exact method? I suspect it is L-carnitine. Both of my L-Carnitines powder(with and without acetyl) run out and after 5 days the faint came back. Before that I was able to write computer program first time since starting the long fast. I had been fasting 50 days and suddenly there was all the energy for 2 weeks. That change happened exactly 1 week after starting the L-carnitines. But it could as well be any other factor....I have some other supplements too.
