Thanks for this review, it helped me a lot! I have a client next week who want's a demonstration of the camera and I'm home with a nasty cold, so I can't even try it out myself before seeing the customer. Your video was the only one I've found that shows every aspect of the camera, so again, thank you very much!
Lens juggling in a kayak while fishing is exactly why I bought this camera. It's not the same picture quality, but it's still pretty good, and still gives me full control of my shot with more convenience.
I would say this is a "100% kickass" review. Just now finding this excellent summary and review of the FZ300 features and performance. Based on yours and other reviews, I ordered one. Thanks for sharing your opinions.
I just got a Panasonic Lumix FZ300 and I am wondering how to set it up for video recording. By just not setting anything up in the camera and just pushing the red video record button, I have not managed to take one video without it being recorded in a very jerky fashion. Anything I try, the clips always show very jittery. Even resetting the camera didn't make a difference. I have tried it with the stabilization 'on' and 'off' - the clips are never smooth. I love the camera for still photography, no problem in that regard but, the video function is only frustrating so far. My old Canon D20 water camera is easy by comparison: just click the record button and it takes awesome stabilized videos. Can you give me a tip as to what to do to get my FZ300 to record jitter-free video ?
+Mick Martin Thanks. Yes, it's just an outstanding camera in every respect. I usually go on a hike or get out on the weekends and taking pics is part of the experience and as always the results are outstanding. It's very satisfying being able to capture the moment accurately and with ease. I usually shoot in manual mode and even that is a pleasure. This is now my go to camera! Remember to like, sub and share. It's really appreciated. Thanks :)
this is a great little camera i have this one and the FZ2000 and i have took some great photo's with the FZ330 all this does it match a DSLR and is it as good as this camera or that camera drives me mad!!! No camera is perfect even the one's you pay mega bucks for its how you use them in good light this camera produces great images good enough for A3 photo's and the video quality is superb and it save's you taking extra lenses with you, I have shot with Nikon camera's and there great too but i can't see that the pictures are any better but i don't pixel peep and have printed alot over the years and iam happy with the Lumix cameras, This of course is just my opinion.
it says recording time is 30 min, is that continuous per clip or total recording time for the camera, I bought this camera for filming hunts it came with a 64 card, I will have more than 30 minutes total recording time not necessarily at 1 time.
Great video man. Excellent job! I've had someone ask for advice on a camera for making professional looking youtube videos under $500 which this currently is at B&H. I'm going to recommend this after seeing your video. Thanks so much for a well done review!
Wow, you're still kicking around. Haven't seen a video of yours since the 90s when PC modding was all the rage. No more wife presenting product like Vana White? lol
Can somebody please tell me if this camera is better than an iPhone 10 as a daily vlogging camera. I have both of them but I just can’t help thinking that the iPhone is better. Even though this one is bigger, I just don’t know enough to know so with some camera knowledge I’m sure one of you could tell me why it is or it is not
I bought one for filming April this year, But have gotten hung up on settings etc and had ended up using it more for photography as it's really intuitive there and the photo quality is just brilliant and really no need for post edits if desired. There are a couple of other videos out there that helps explain (in there opinion) there best settings etc for film like quality. I suggest as I have done just keep playing around with the video settings and keep experimenting with it till you take on any real projects. Also look at getting a vari ND filter, they help soo much as well as get a U3 sd card for the 4k.
Just got this camera. I have space on OneDrive... What's the easiest way to transfer the pics on the camera to OneDrive? Is going through the smartphone my best option? btw thank you for the vid.
Hi, nice video. I recently bought this Panasonic fz300 camera. But I found on the lens, 3-4 mm from the edge of the lens, a scratch, about 1 mm, the thickness of a needle tip! Can it affect my photos or movies, condensation ..., are there other things like that? Thanks.
Could I consider this an upgrade to my Nikon D3200. I will mostly be using it on holidays for both vlogging and photography. I want to eventually go to a Panasonic gh4.
Only prob I see with it so far Is the internal mic and location of battery and having to change while it's on tripod. I have had to buy an external mic, but still not impressed. I also bought a ac/dc inverter which is very handy ( when you are were you can use that option).
+4K Sports / Film Scotty Film The Cameron T100BH Tripod works with the FZ300 as the mount doesn't cover the battery/SD cover :) Remember to like, sub and share. I appreciate it. Thanks :)
+CapcomsHero It might be a little overwhelming for a first camera, but it's doable. Having an understanding of basic photography would definitely be an asset when shooting in manual mode. It's one of the best all around best camera's I've used.
+3DGAMEMAN Yea I'm studying now ..lol..I was looking at couple of cameras including this one, lumix g7 ,Nikon b700(didn't come out yet) and some others...I wanna make short films

its not the memory size its the class i found out why it was saying that i needed a Class 10 card and UHS of 3 but i got a 1 but stills rec fast so im good.
does it give a clean live HD video out from the HDMI port that you can connect an atomos ninja2? A video feed with no camera setting overlay i.e. clean video out.
I'd recommend a lapel (lavalier) mic, wired (cheap) or a wireless. More details about you comment/question is this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Is0RbCSxZDE.html
+Sam Verbruggen from what I have seen it has 4k burst mode, and a 4k photo mode where it just records in 4k and you can choose a single shots from the video in camera. Possibly in all resolutions as well
+Sam Verbruggen Yes, it indeed does have a 4K burst and Cody is correct, you can select pics from the video. Personally, I haven't found myself using it much, but it can be real handy depending on what you are shooting.
No, a dslr has a much larger sensor, meaning less noise, better low light performance, and larger enlargments. I'm not saying that this FZ300/330 is a bad camera, it isn't, but just answering your question. No, it can't compete with a dslr. That being said, to get the lenses needed to have the same reach and a camera that has 4k, you'll be paying lots of money, plus I don't know of any dslr lens that has a constant 2.8. So, it's all about what you can live with, and how much money you are willing to pay for it. Also, how much you want to carry around with you. I hope this helps.
This IS NOT a "Point and Shoot" camera! It's a Bridge Camera! It 'Bridges' the gap between a Point and Shoot and a DSLR. I do wish people would get it right BEFORE they make a video!
it will NEVER be a 2.8 600 mm :) A lens like that would be gigantic! Bud sadly enough I have be able to find any review that talks about the AF in videomode :( does it even continous AF during video?
