Tate and Dani spend a week in the Flathead National forest so close to Glacier NP that they can actually see it! They also meet with some good friends and take a couple of trips into Glacier park itself to check out the scenery and wildlife.
Their adventures seemed truncated because Going to the Sun Road is still buried under 80 ft of snow, but fear not, they found other avenues into the park and other peaks to ascend. They climbed up Huckleberry Mt looking for huckleberries and possibly for trouble, since they forgot their bear spray.
Next they explore MacDonald Lodge which is a historic landmark. And of course they enjoy the beautiful Flathead Forest.
(Apologies for the blurry footage at first...we have had a HELL of a time exporting this video and are thankful at least to have this edit! We'll get better in the future)

I know this was tougher than the presentation shows. Makes me really appreciate the air conditioned space I'm in. You know, the human comforts. Even the creatures want it too, it's why they're always trying to get in. Makes them wonder why we want to be in their space. :) Enjoyed your videos as usual. Next time don't forget your BEAR SPRAY! I don't want to hear about the two idle-less RV You Tubers, that went into the forest and never came out. :) Then everyone will get into your lost found footage and make a movie out of it.

I was pretty worried about leaving the bear spray! The conditions off the grid for us really aren't that bad...we got pretty used to basicaly living in the unclimate controlled outdoor air when we lived on the boat. To be honest AC makes us cold unless it's REALLY hot. Nice to hear from you.

My wife says that the curved trees was done by the Native Americans to mark trails, not sure if that one in particular was but just to put our two words! 🤓

Hi Tate & Dani. Thanks for the video of your travels. Dani, the large Moose are not moose, but Roosevelt Elk.

Great videography! Thanks for taking us along. Have you considered a Thermacell? Works great to keep the bugs away at your campsite. Keep on keepin' on!

Your videography is stunning. Seeing vlogs like yours is why I bought a GoPro camera, but I am finding out my attempts at making a video pales to what I see in your videos. Have you put out a information explaining what equipment you use? Do you use stabilizers? What cameras give such sharp-in-focus shots? I love your videos and I appreciate the opportunity to travel along with you.

Wow, stunning huh? You give us way more credit than I feel we deserve. We are truly amateurs at filming. The gopro unfortunately isn't the best at up close detail shots. We also have two other cameras, a Sony handycam cx330 and a Cannon handheld SX 260. Both of those camera do alright with being just handheld and panning for smooth shots, but reallu I think the best thing we use to stabilize the image is a monopod. We bought a cheap aluminum one, it's a Dolica WT-1003 and I have a ball tripod (it can swivel 360) on the top. The monopod is nice because you can walk around with the camera attached and the monopod collasped and have more stability or you can extend it and then move the camera for a stable pan. Attach the gopro with a tripod mount. Also try changing the gopro settings to medium and narrow for closer shots and get a polarized filter for outdoor shots. We got a cheap one that fits inside the camera but there are nicer ones that clip on. Good luck with your videos!

Great vids guys. you are so close, have you considered coming to Canada? world class sights, and the cdn dollar is low now meaning great saving on gas and food.
@Sundownersailsagain
@Sundownersailsagain 8 лет назад
We did consider Canada but really we just dont have enough time this time through. We still have to explore the West Coast and into Arizona and then pack it up and head back to the boat:)

Some trees think being straight is too mainstream so they change it up a bit.

Love your video's but, what is the deal with that music. (did the previous RV owner leave a 1960's era porn and you used that?)
@Sundownersailsagain
@Sundownersailsagain 8 лет назад
Haha, which music in particular? We have a set of songs we pick from. We use free source music and have been meaning to download some new stuff but really haven't had good and free wifi to do so.

LOL....I was being sarcastic mostly (trying to be funny) as you guys do a great job but, specifically around 4 min to 6 min's. I hope that did not come across wrong!
@Sundownersailsagain
@Sundownersailsagain 8 лет назад
+Johnny Gerhart Oh yeah, actually that section IS from and old video we found lying around;) No but for real the music we have is the best I could find at the time when we first came back that we could use without infringing copyrights. We need some time to discover more! We'll probably keep the same themes for this series of videos and then have new music when we start with the sailing videos. Im happy you like the video:)
