You should play adventure quest (any version of the franchise really). It has this kind of feel of rpg fantasy with comedy. I mean if you see adventure quest world's trailer, it says it all. If 2d or side scrollers are not your thing though, there's also adventure quest 3d, wich imo is even better. All f2p :)

The animation is good but can't carry it. The pacing is poor because the "bombastic selfish nobodies in a fantasy rpg setting" bit has been done to death. Especially the kind peppered with video game references. We've seen most of this before. Is the overconfident leader going to get a date with the girl who gave him the quest? No, because his character has to be a loser. You see, for "comedy". Is the dorky mage going to magic the cat down from the tree? No, because being powerful would let him solve problems by himself. Which would kill the chance for "comedy". Is the girl who joins them going to be highly attractive? No, because it can't look like her joining the guild is a joyful event. Whether they have a reason to reject her or not, you know she's going to join them anyways. She's so bland and uninteresting that she has to be a main character. I want to compare the excellent 8-Bit Theater, but that's not fair because webcomics have the advantage of beat panels and quick linguistic jokes that take a half second to read. Here, way more effort was put into the "chicken fat" than the plot or characters. For taking advantage of the medium, the best part is the fedora joke at 6:00. Part of it is the defied expectation of a hypercompetent Mary Sue setting the plot on track. Mostly it's compressing jokes into the animation (dropping his sword, his silly tongue, the dragon cringing to death). If the whole episode was that compact, it would be fantastic, and thirty seconds long.
