The fan is electric on the GL650, direct mechanical on the CX500. This is a nice example. I had a GL500I for eight years, after not riding for almost forty years, and it worked out extremely well. The GL650 should be less top-heavy than the fully dressed Interstate, but that isn't a big problem, it handles very well with good tires.
I just got the custom cruiser model. You figure out your brakes ? And the fuel petcock ? My oil filter bolt is stripped. The new one I got has a bigger bolt head. Turns out the smaller bolt was a design flaw...Don't tighten it too hard. snug is good enough. P.S,you changed your own fork seals? good for you. I now have to do mine...they were fine for about a week. I'll figure it out.
