Ah that 3 port thing. Either my HF didn't have one or the previous tweaker mechanic removed it. Thing took me a while to figure out from the few red pepper pictures that are still floating around

The HF didn’t have the 3 port vacuum block for some reason. But the HF have a small ECU to control the carb and emission stuff.

Thanks for the information, it help me a lot, one question, if I don´t have the AJC (Air Jet Conector "3 port vacuum block") shoul I close the lines or leave them open? once again, Thanks for taking the time on this, Regards

Cap the 2 that are located on the back top of the carburetor. Then Just run a vacuum hose from the one nipple That you would have use the T with and run it straight to the vacuum advance canister.

Unfortunately nothing I’ve ever been able to find. You either have to fix the one you have or see if you can find something at a wrecking yard

I’m doing this currently, only the bottom port for the distributor is used by a vac line, the top is just left as is? No plugging?

Hello I did this with my 86 Honda and it seems to be building to much pressure in the manifold, I used a weber carb and hooked the only vacuum it has to the distributor where air was coming out, how can I fix this problem. It seems to be causing my brake power booster to leak just a little where it connects to the master cylinder. I really need to get this figured out because I worry it will damage my head gasket that I just had replaced. P.S. Since I got the car it also appears to have quite hi oil pressure as well it tends to come out of the oil filler cap very lightly when I go faster. Please help me get to the bottom of this I really need this car. Edit: I made a dumb mistake and plugged the other vacuum hole on the distributor.

First off, hats off to you Roy for making this series. You inspired me when I first saw them (and made me laugh), and I finally took the plunge with my old 87 this weekend. Got two questions for you: First, what is the function of the air vent cut-off diaphragm (AVCO) that sits on the right hand side of the carb above the viewing window? When I took mine apart I found that the rubber diaphragm itself is in rough shape, looking stretched out and a little rotted. The carb service kit I got did not include the right part to replace this, nor the oddly shaped gasket that goes between the AVCO and the carb. What do you recommend? Second question: What happens with the long port at the bottom center on the back of the carb (seen clearly at 8:42)?

Cory Garms So start off with the longer nipple at the bottom of the carburetor on the backside that is for coolant to run through the carburetor to help heat up the carburetor so the coldstart and stuff is not as bad. I usually leave it unplugged or capped off but depending on where you live and the climate it may be suitable to keep that coolant hooked up. Second AVCO I have never ran across this scenario. I don’t usually take the carb that far apart. You can try without using a vacuum line to it and just cap off the small nipple.Trying to find a gasket or diagram might be almost impossible other than maybe making your own gasket.

Does the black box with all the vaccum line connections share the vacuum across all those line? I don’t have that on my civic cause somone deleted some stuff before I got it so I was just gonna use splitters to connected them all instead.

Yes, that box does share vacuum with all the other ones. If that’s missing, you’re better off just removing them all.

I think the CVCC makes the plugs look rich because of the way the combustion happens in these engines. Makes tuning by plug a bitch on weber swaps. I also wondered about the o2 sensor, i wonder if the wire actually goes to one of the black vac boxes or if its just not connected unless its the Si models

The fuel pump is mechanical and it is located right next to the distributor.

Do not cap it. It has to stay open to allow the diaphragm inside to move when the vac is applied to the other side

Hey man if there is anyway you could messge me and help me out I put a Weber carb on my 85 1.5 hatch and it runs great until you get on the interstate or are at a higher rpm it’s like it don’t get enough gas and I changed fuel pump still does it and I’ve adjusted it and adjusted it but can not figure it out

Did this on 87 CRX DX. Take a look at your routing of the vacuum lines in this video. The description that you gave does not match the way you haven't hooked up. Not sure whether you did that on purpose to see if we can catch it or not. Can you explain which is the correct connection of the vacuum line please.

I would recommend making sure that all your ignition components are in good working order and Make sure the fuel filters are new and clean there is one by the carburettor and then there is one by the drivers rear wheel.

Matthew Winters you have to turn the screw on the top of the carb 1/16 of a turn at a time and rev it a slight rev after ever adjustment

Started with pouring some fuel down the carburetor and see if it starts up. You may have to do this a few times and eventually the fuel pump will get fuel to the carburetor.

I have a clear inline fuel filter that has fuel in it. Also this car came with an inline fuel pressure regulator right before the carb

Pretty sure the fuel pump is a mechanical fuel pump so it doesn't have any wiring.

im willing to even pay you to direct me man but here: 84 civic 1500s hatch i initially had issues with the ignition coil, replaced it, then after a while if i did not leave it accelerated it will die, like it will crank on, then die if i don leave with a little bit of throttle. then changed the main relay after not firing at all, that did not fix it. i had current from the switch to the coil, then no current from the coil to distribuitor, somewhat distribuitor had current flowing in but not to the spark plug wires, but it had current going back from distribuitor to coil. then i changed the coil like 3 times, then the distribuitor out of an 85 which i have attempted to see if it will fire up, then it blew a 45amp link fuse which only napa has it and i have to order it. i ported it with like wire or something then the lights on the cluster are very dimmed when i open the switch even with a new battery. then i still have all the vaccuum crap all in the car

They don’t really have an ECU so I’m not sure how that would adjust it must have something to do with the emission boxes.
