1985 Chevrolet Corvette - How to replace the power window motor and regulator 1984 to 1996 Corvette. 

I've had a 75 and a 77 Vette , did a lot of work on them, and always found them to be quite easy to work on. Did a lot of work on a friends 77, and as soon as he left, he sold it. I had even asked him to contact me if he was to sell it, but the $$ he got for it was more than I had to offer! Keep up the good work!

I have just replaced both window motor assemblies in my 1990 C4.. Changing them is easy. Adjusting them so they'll work properly is a major pain in the ass. Mine are exactly like the aftermarket one he is using. the old ones with the nylon teeth are garbage. I suggest leaving the two top motor mounts slightly loose to start with. That will allow you to move the assembly inboard to outboard slightly. Make sure to losen the travel limit assembly (2 x Mount and 1 x adjustment bolts). Then just gently move the window (with power) up and down slightly while checking ease of travel especially when the door is closed. It's a real paing in the ass but eventually it will work. Be especially careful not to allow upper travel to go too far up or the up and down roller will pop out of it's track. The window travel limit bracket on the aft of the door is very important to watch while you gently click the switch to find the proper setting. Don't forget the adjustment pads along the top. If the ones you have are missing or in bad shape, I would suggest ordering new ones before you begin. They are cheap and readily available and will stop the window from rattling..
