I owned this ninjette for a year and 2000 miles. Would I recommend it to you? Find out about my experience and a bit about the history of the little GPZ250R (or EX250F, or Ninja 250R) in my review of the pregen Ninja 250!

One nice aspect of the pregen Ninja 250 is that it can easily be stripped down to a streetfighter and end up well under 300lbs, increasing its performance greatly at almost no cost.

True, but I really like the way they look stock, personally.

I loved this thing. It was all I ever wanted out of a bike. Then again, I drive my car like Miss Daisy is in back.

The analog gauges are so much nicer than the digital ones on the newer bikes. Here in Asia motorcycles are serious transportation and few people have bikes larger than 250cc.

Great review of a timeless bike. Not many modern reviews on this bike. Good information. I’ve had mine for about 2 and half years and put over 7k miles on it. Love it

Great review. Very accurate and in depth. I love my ninja 250 and take it on the freeway everyday as it’s my daily rider.

I love my 2006 sv650s but I think I like my 2004 ninja 250 better. It's cheaper on gas and more fun on small backroads by my house. Scrapping pegs on a 250 is awesome. A lot motorcyclist seem to dismiss small displacement motorcycles as only for beginners but honestly small bikes are some of the most fun you can have on the street. Not too long ago when I was in high school my friends and I would modify and race mini bikes that topped out at 60 mph. It wasn't anything fast or refined but looking back that was the most fun I've ever had on a bike.

I had one of these, they love to rev so hard. Have to keep the revs above 9K on the freeway so you have power for maneuvering. Great review and nostalgia trip - your one is very pretty.

Fun fact, these are about just as fast as a ninja 300 and faster than the efi ninja 250s

Thank you so much. I hope to do a review of my 2000 VFR800 next, and maybe even do a video talking about the first to second bike transition, and everything I learned.

I have a Y pipe on mine and it seriously sounds like a bigger bike haha

$1,500? They’re actually holding their value more. As actually ppl like myself prefer the look of the 08 model over the newer ones. 400s and such are hard to come by. I’ve found 350s for about $3000 give or take. Been considering getting one but it seems like they need a lot of carb work

Why is the windscreen warped?

It's an action camera so it shoots with a high field of view. Otherwise you'd only be able to see very little in the same sized frame
@mayiofferyousomealternativ7205
looks like it's broken on the bottom left side.

Oh that. Yes, the bike had been down and things definitely broke. Lol

Couple of things. If you take care of this bike.. getting 70 thousand miles out of the original engine is not hard to do. This thing is a swiss watch made by the Japanese. Or maybe a swiss army knife... if you are one of the rare people who put bags on it. I predict you will see more OLD Riders buying nice ones.. because of the 304 lb wet weight. My other prediction is old farts like me are going to work out ways to make it more comfortable. Too much knee bend.

I did already sell the bike and bought a VFR800FI, but I do miss it. Honestly I think with 1” bar risers or a conversion to a MX bar and grips with a little higher of a hand position would be perfect. The foot position doesn’t bother me but I’m fairly short at 5’9”. All and all I think they’re, fantastic bikes but I was commuting on the highway and it’s just not the best bike for that. I actually moved and my current commute is on a twisty road that the 250 would be perfect for. You never know when you’re making the right decision or not haha.

@@ErikSeastead Aint it the truth ! Sold my K-75 low seat because I was hurting myself getting it onto the center stand. Bought TU250X. I sold my TU250X which I loved, because it was too painful. Realized later that lowering the foot pegs 1" or so would have probably licked that. Bought a Honda PC800 because it was one of the few bikes that combined really good weather protection with low seat height... and ergonomics that seemed like they would be right. By far the heaviest bike I ever had at 622 lbs wet. Took me 2 years of very sporadic effort to get it back in service . Just now getting to ride it and appreciate how good it is for couple of hours at a time. Meanwhile, bought the 2002 EX250...as a hedge against the day when the Ghost is too much to handle. But, I think it will be hard on my old knees...which really dont want to bend like that anymore. Not nearly as easy to lower the pegs on the ninja 250... so I hope I can find a junk seat and play around altering the seat height. I am 5'8 with 29 inch inseam...and old enough that pain is a constant companion anyway. Hope to find others who have worked on this. But, as you say.. it strong suit is going to be in the twisties... not homing in on Omaha from California.
