@@kevinthomas2906yes the Rams of the 80’s were quite the challenge to the 49ers dominance. I laugh when people say the 49ers had it easy in the 80’s in the NFC West. If it weren’t for the 49ers, those 80’s Rams team might have won a Super Bowl or two.
Thanks for uploading these games I’ve been watching this all this week. I’ve been a 49ers fan since 1998 so I missed this era of Niners football so it’s cool to watch these game for me
Interesting in the beginning they talk about the hits Young took and how they pretty much blamed the o line. But they never talked about Young holding onto the ball a long time, scrambling, and his overall style being to play physical as reasons for those hits too. Young liked the contact I think, and Young was always a bit of a drama Queen, peeling himself up off the ground every play. I used to watch him and be like come on man, 😂. He was still a great player though.
Candlestick Park was originally designed as a baseball stadium. Both the 49ers and SF Giants played there until 1999, when the Giants moved into Pacific Bell Park (now known as Oracle Park). And because the end of the MLB season coincides with the beginning of the NFL season, the infield dirt and base paths remained on the field during the first few weeks of the 49ers' seasons. The Miami Dolphins, San Diego Chargers, and Oakland Raiders also had this on their respective fields, too.
@@tecmoguy That is so interesting... I had no idea. Thank you for that detailed explanation. It must of been fun working at Candlestick Park during the part when baseball and football seasons coincide!
@@davevolskysbackdoor5673 So HOF Steve Young, Jerry Rice , Barry Bonds and Ozzie Smith all played on that same field within 24 hours. That is absolutely amazing!
They shared 🏟 candlestick park with the San fransico giants of the mlb for years. This was a regular thing back in the day to see a baseball diamond 💎 on a football field because nowadays its rare. But alot of teams shared stadiums back in the day. Nowadays every team has their own stadium. The ny jets used to play in Shea stadium 🏟 where the ny mets used to play baseball.
