1s USB lipo charger are okey. but not more, how about Storage charge for rainy days? or discharge!
1s are dirt cheap yes, rip to 3.3v yes? but if YOU want make the most of it. storage charge is needed.
make youreself an Adapter to work with youre hobby grade XT60 charger! simple and easy.
Update: a better solution • Charging 1s Lipo Batte...
yes yes yes, you can always buy them ready to go. but after a little misshap.

Love this video I keep going back to it to learn but little confused as you have smart charger set too umm 4s but charging 1s batteries so wouldn’t you put it too 1s to charge/storage? I’m a pain I know but I’m newbie and now trying to learn what to set my Isdt Q8 which is doing my nut in as instructions are crap lol 😂

example : 4s 1000mah lipo pack. its made of 4 batteries connected together in series, ergo a 4s battery. 1 battery is just 1s. so in the video i make a cable adapter to connect 4 1s batteries in series to make it a 4s battery. but IF i only plug 3 1s in this adapter. the charge would tell you somethings bad with one of youre battery cells... for a 3s adapter cable i would need to make a new adapter specific for 3s only, same for 2s,5s,6s etc. if youre 1s lipos are lets say 300mah, and you use this 4s adapter. i would set the charger to 4s (since 4 batteries is conected in series) and 0.3a (1a = 1000mah... 300mah = 0.3a) you will now charge youre battery pack at 1c rating. wich is recommended

This is a great idea, especially for discharging, or storage purposes. The only downside I can see when using it for charging, is you will always have to charge 4 at a time to complete the circuit, or you'll get an error message. For most people that wouldn't matter though, since they tend to have dozens of 1s cells anyway. Just thought I might point it out though, for anyone wishing to try this. Also, you may already know this, but It would be safe, and faster to charge 4 450mah lipos at 1.8 amps, since the charging lipo's is recommended at 1 amp per 1000mah. Eg: I charge my 1300mah lipo's at 1.3 amps, and 1500mah at 1.5 amps, and so on. If I'm parallel charging 6 at a time, I charge them at 7.8 amps. It takes way less time, and doesn't harm the batteriesat all. I've got lipo's that are well over a year old, with hundreds of cycles on them, that I fly on my 5" rigs. They still perform exceptionally well, considering the natural degradation of lipo packs. Thanks for the info!

hi buddy, this is a great point! before i used to charge only at 1c rating. but today its 2c min or more,same at the field. Another pointer would be to check the batteries specs that you own. when charging my bigger packs 5000mah etc i just have them at 1c i often charge 4 or more at once :) but thats my way because then i have time to prep the rc too. theres alot of whoops going on these days with tiny 2s or 3s, could a vid about adapter to make 2x 2s into a 4s or 2x 3s into 6s incase people realy arnt keen about paralell charging? also thanks for the great input

🔥Parts used are listed in the description.🔥 1s Lipo still PACKS a punch! charge them in a bag or case. One of the lipos shows hv3.8.. it is an hv4.35 its from another batch. new label maybe..

I have the same issue with the voltage already being at storage voltage right after I have flown my 1s packs to 3.5v. When I say discharge I'm looking at the voltage readout on my vtx, but when I disarm my quad I see the actual voltage sometimes around 3.7v. Should/Could I discharge more untill I see about 3.5v when disarmed?

the good thing about these ones. well atleast the ones im having is they recover fast. with these little guys i often land on 3.3v too. for me its just a habit of landing on 3.5v because i dont want to dmg the expensive lipos. but these 1s lipos are so dirt cheap and i want to get most out of it.i just bought a few 5x paxks packs ended up beeing even cheaper. im at 30 1s lipos now. in fact you have a good idea for a test video. thanks buddy.

Very good explained, thanks a lot. What do you have to do to build a 2s or a special 1s adapter? From my point of view: xt60 connected with the 4s balance connector and only connect 1 (black) and 5 (red). Afterwords these two (1 and 5) connect to one adapter to the battery and leave 2, 3 and 4 empty (for 1s). Is that right?

Hia, special 1s? if on 1s you dont need a balance conector, just + and - solder what ever connector you want. for a 2s adapter you would need a 3s balance connector. pin 1 is pack - , pin 2 connect between cell1 + and cell2 - , pin 3 is pack negativ.. hope it makes sorta sense hehe :)

Will this work if you have: 2 batteries fully charged and 2 empty. Then you want to put them all on storage level? Anyway I believe you have to connect four of them every time if you want to charge or discharge.

hia! thats true this is a 1s to 4s adapter so you would need to connect 4x 1s lipos. nope i wouldnt do that. with my charge i have an option to discharge the lipos. you could also make a 2s 3s 4s 5s 6s adapter all depends on youre needs.

with this setup each cell has to be identical. or you risk,no you will beovercharghing the cells with lower mah.. but you could always make a 2s adapter :) i made some myself just in case.
