Absolutely love when the video is put into chapters that don't just say a number for the game and instead has the name of the game. So much better to go back through and see which ones you were interested in.
Anomaly Agent is best game i have ever played this year. Animations and character designs, attacks are soo soft. You can actually feel you are control character. Bravo cherryson!
Same here. My wife and I co-op 6 nights a week, and maybe once or twice a month does an AAA game get mentioned (and it's ALWAYS ❣🧡Tiny Tina's💟 💕Wonderlands 💞❤🔥(we LOVE that game)!!!)
I don't understand how people keep complaining about there not being good games releasing when there's always amazing games like these and more coming out left and right. Gaming never really went downhill, you just gotta get your head out of the AAA space.
I absolutely loved Harold Halibut. It has a unique beautiful art style and a story that, while a bit slow to get into, really draws you in. Interesting and inventive and the ending was just wonderful.
Maybe it's just me, but I really wish lists like this wouldn't include early access games. Highlight those on a separate list, but they aren't finished games, so I'd really prefer they get rated and called the best when you can actually play through the whole game. But I also just may be an old fogey on this, so feel free to ignore this comment as you want.
@@Wildstrider It's THEIR list, tell them what they should and should not include on THEIR list based upon your feelings. Let's see how well that one goes over!
7th game Anomaly Agent has unique fighting mechanic that everybody must try. Dodges does not interrupt your combo, it feels kinda fluid, with good sense of humor even you don't finish it you need to try.
I am playing Banishers right now, though flawed, it is a lot of fun! Too bad most AAA games are unsatisfying when compared to some of the AA and indie games coming out
Enshrouded probably deserves at least an honourable mention, no? It's still early access, but it's something that blew up a bit when it first came out in January. It got overshadowed a bit by the short-term juggernaut that was Palworld which released only a week before. Enshrouded is yet another open world survival game, but it's one of the better ones, I think. I think they've been actively developing it this past year as well.
I completely agree with your position. Enshrouded and Nightingale were on our (wife's and mine) wish lists, we got both, and after ~50 hours, dropped Nightingale like a hot potato. Enshrouded, however, we've put ~250 hours in (each), and we're still having fun- it's just a basically great game, no B.S., no silliness, it's just solid and fun. 👍👍👍
I literally just started playing manor lords a couple days ago and I'm in love. The fact that I recognized the thumbnail and knew right away, made me smile
Every time you make videos about smaller games, I will always thank you guys for it. Representing the peeps who don't have as much game time as we used to.
Dark and Darker is F2P for a 'limited' version of the game. The F2P model is meant to bring in new players who want to try the game without purchasing the full game while it's still in Early Access. You are limited to one character slot and have trade limitations(implemented to mitigate RMT in the in-game item auction house). If you want to have additional classes/characters you will need to purchase the game for $30 USD. Otherwise, I believe the F2P accounts aren't restricted from any of the gameplay modes or matchmaking.
sledders is an early access game on steam that will most likely be released on console by the end of the year. it is a snowmobile game with multiplayer but it does not have proximity chat or chat yet. the developers are working on the backcountry/mountain riding deep snow physics and will probably make fun updates in the future. The game is immediately fun if you ride snowmobiles in real life, but some people don't like how it isn't a racing game. it is a snowmobile game with freeride multiplayer with a handful of maps and focuses on deep snow mostly. there isn't that many snowmobiles (sleds) to choose from but the ones that are there look pretty realistic. the developers are working with GGB exhaust to make a more realistic sound for the sleds. i hope they add more sleds from freestyle/snocross racing in a future update.
Great list, thanks! I am very happy to see Anomaly Agent getting more international recognition. It’s the passion project of a guy whose job has been reviewing games for many years and it was made by only 3 people. Thanks for bringing these smaller-budget games in front of wider crowds!
@Gameranx just wanted to point this out because it seems youve misunderstood a bit❤ *Dark and Darker* is NOT a dungeon crawler, *(the dungeon isnt as big as youd think)* its a PvPvE "Extraction Shooter". *Medieval Fantasy Tarkov* basically. and it was released almost a year ago but was removed from *Steam* due to a Copyright dispute. The game has been out for a long time..
Core Keeper is a huge recommendation!!! It's a fun casual pixel art game that you can play alone or with your friends. It kinda combines minecraft and terraria. The game is not huge but has an active community and active developers. There is a big update coming the 27th of August! Anyone here that played Core Keeper as well??
@@jessemiller3108 I've never played Terraria. I kept dying in very stupid infuriating ways. So I stopped playing after 1 hour or so. Core Keeper had a big update not to long ago. Maybe it's more to your taste now.
@@missnutrix if you give Terraria another try, I will give Core keeper one It can be very frustrating (the learning curve is rather steep) but there is a reason it’s the highest ranked crafting game of all time on steam. It has the best tier progression (the reason I love crafting games)
Not sure if Early Acess counts, but Abiotic Factor did it for me. It is such a unique spin on the survival crafting genre, and ends up working extremely well.
No love for Indika? 😞 I found this game incredibly intense in its storytelling, and the mix between the "now" Unreal-infused increasingly weird landscapes and the pixel art memories pretty brilliant.
Thank you Thank you. You hit my sweet spot with this one. I am not a $70 a game player. I would much rather support the devs and the best way I know is through smaller games.
Please keep the title of the games in the chapters, Always! We're going to watch the entire video everytime no matter what, even if we know what's coming.
Shoutout to "Abiotic Factor" as a honorable quick come-to-mind mention. If you enjoy the indepth job/class system and skill progression (sorta like Project Zomboid or Runescape) along with Crafting/Survival/Horror elements, youll very much enjoy the game. Cheap as well only 25 bucks off sale but on sale its like 18-19$ USD.
Great video! Found 3 new games to play!!! Havent been playing anything for a while...so happy to try out these titles, starting with the crab one, and enjoying it!
They mispronounce SO MANY simple terms, I have seen people, including myself, questioning if they ACTUALLY play any of these games 😮💨🤦♂️🤷🏼♂️ Sometimes, I TRULY doubt it
Steamworld Heist 2 really nailed it, it's a wonderful gem of a game! Released about 1 week ago, loving it even though I have so little time to play it. I had been waiting for it so much, it definitely lived up to expectations
I played a few of the big games that came out this year, but for about a month, I was pretty obsessed with games that came out years ago (i.e. Vampire Survivors). There's always good stuff to play, even if it's not brand-spankin-new.
Last Epoch is GREAT!! If anyone liked Diablo, then you will LOVE this game. I honestly play it regularly almost everyday. I have put in over 1000 hours in D4 too, but mostly cuz they have released new content more regularly. I am NOT playing season 5 tho, just waiting for the (ridiculously early) paid expansion. The skills are FAR more rewarding and CUSTOMIZABLE than D4 will ever do. They also recently added a dodge roll. Which was a big turn off for a lot of the D4 players that tried it at launch. That being said, there IS a dodge roll now and there’s really no reason not to try it. The gameplay is honestly REALLY good. (Go Rogue Falconer or Marksman 👍😉)
Just a quick plug for one of my favorite books: if you dig Pacific Drive, check out reading Roadside Picnic which is the source material for stuff like Stalker.
Dungeons of Hinterberg is also a really good smaller game that came out last month, it's got a pretty cool art style and the puzzles are actually good and interesting
Take a look at the Outcast remake called A New Beginning. Great game. A little glitchy and many optimization issues, but Appeal Studios just released a patch. Plus, the open world is amazing. The quests can get a little repetitive, but I find that it kind of works, and a lot of the jokes land really well. Plus, it implements a lore glossary during dialogue, which I think more games need.
Finished The Thaumaturge and enjoyed Children of the Sun! Will continue Banishers as I began it. Love this kinda video, thanks! Checkout Flintlock : The Siege of Dawn too!
