I could pursue that kind of workout. But do I have to have some type of martial arts experience?

To be intense, it would be good to have some experience regarding body mechanics for many of the moves and to be familiar with your flexibility ranges to prevent any kind of odd joint movements that could leave you with some minor pains or pulled muscles afterwards. But, I would say many folks could easily follow along and not be perfect in there movements and get a great workout. Done enough times, you will begin to adjust your movements and learn how to do them more precisely. Exacty how folks just starting martial arts training do. We all start somewhere and have to learn the techniques. Just pull back on the intensity if you feel any joint pain or over extension of your muscles
