There will never be another broadcaster quite like John Sterling. The man made radio exciting and intense enough to make you feel like you were actually at the game. Thank you John. Happy Retirement!

His Yankees win call concluding the 1999 World Series is the best he has ever called.

I'm a Mets fan, why's this making me cry? Farewell Mr. Sterling, you were one of the voices that made me love baseball and your unique turns of phrase and clear love of the game and the Yankees will be sorely missed.

I remember my friend and teammate on my softball team said he wanted to hurry home and listen to the Yankee game because of the funniest cool announcers was calling the games . When he started in 1989 . One of best we’ve had here because of his style and iconic calls . Definitely will be missed !!

"It's Gleyber Day!" "Giancarlo, non si puo stoparlo!" "It's a Judgeon blast. All rise, here comes the judge." I'm a new baseball fan and only started watching in 2022 and these are some of my favorite calls. He really made the players stand out and gave them personalities. Legend of the franchise in my opinion.

The single greatest sports broadcaster of my lifetime. Without a doubt. Whether you're a diehard Yankees fan, or like me, just a casual viewer of baseball, you know intuitively that there will never be another John Sterling. The wit, humor, and passion which he brought to so many lives will never be replicated.

The best part of this segment is Rick Camps HR. It was the 18th inning but the game was delayed a couple of times due to rain so it was about 3 or 4 in the morning. Even the Atlanta fans just wanted Rick to strikeout. It was also July 4th and once the game was over they were promised fireworks so around 5am they set off the fireworks. People in the neighborhood were woken up by these blasts that they called the police thinking the town was being invaded. “Wacky” was the perfect word for this game.

It's funny I remember watching on tv when judge hit number 60 and as he was coming up I said "he's hitting it out" and what do you know he does Yankees came back to win that game too 😂 was at i think a game or two before he broke it and they played the orioles every time he came up every pitch thrown to him the whole stadium went quiet just shows you how great baseball is

My fave HR call was always Jorgie juiced one. My fave as a kid enjoying the late 90s Yanks dynasty. The A-Rod game tying 2 Run HR in GM 2 2009 ALDS was also excellent.
