I see others have said it too, but yeah there's many crosses around the map for people in the DayZ community that have sadly passed. There's one for a friend/mod of mine called Balbanes at Willow Lake.

7:28 I think this actually references a Czech fairy tale called "About twelve months" The fairy tale tells about the girl Maruška, who is driven out by her stepmother and her daughter Holena into the winter woods for strawberries, blueberries and finally for apples, which are imposible to obtain during winter, but twelve magical month brothers have a large bonfire in the woods an will help her complete the tasks. Later the stepmother and her daughter find out about this and they go to the twelve months, but they are rude to them and the months freeze them to death

Thanks for the excellent vid Rav. There is a grave marker with a U.N. helmet near the pond south side of the NE airfield. This as added to the game in memory of DocSatan, a well liked member of the U.N. peacekeeping faction on the 'Dayz Downunder' servers. He unfortunately passed away in approx 2020 from a lung infection if memory serves. Boydy from the podcast was good enough to organise his memorial with the devs.

Back in 2014 I was exploring the rocky mountainside between Elektro and Cherno and stumbled on a cave. I took a couple screenshots so I know for a fact it happened, but I've never found that cave again since. A couple weeks ago I was looking for it in the map editing mod and no luck

Eagle nest was where I stored my survival gear, and then buried valuables in the bushes around the area. Just hanging out in the cave was pleasant

My fav part of playing dayz is coming across places i had bases,gunfights and just good time,man good memories

Pond stashes are the most OP. You wont find them unless you are actually in the water looking for them and there is so much water in Chernarus.

Let me tell you, Skyrim mountain is the perfect place to hide your base. I remember taking freshies in my giant base until 3 months later, we were raided.

Love the video. If a lore video is to come. I have a very interesting theory on the Hannah/yellow king story. Crazy is how most of the lore comes from Arma 2. Plus there's a diff in Dean's original dayz mod explanation of the virus and bohemias. Good content man👍👍

@RavPlays As far as I know, there's actually a few more crosses that the devs have added for people (Including one of my own friends). The first one is on the main road going SW just south of Three Valleys. Unfortunately I can't remember who it's for, but it's a large white cross on the left-hand side of the road (going inland). The second one was added just recently in 1.17 for a long-time DayZ friend of mine called PauliC (ru-vid.com). My group and I, as well as his family unfortunately lost him to suicide back in February of this year. The cross is located at the brown ranch-style house on the dirt path just North of the NE Airfield. It was his favorite kind of house which he called "Olive-With-Dome", and we used to start NE loot runs up there a lot. Stopping there for water when there used to be a well in the house's yard in previous versions. Even the creator WOBO was nice enough to include a segment in his 1.17 update video about him. You know what's pretty cool. I've seen all of these things except the 3 rivers area, but never knew what they were before this video. The grass pyramid sign I thought was just some bullshit they squiggled onto a sign but good to know it actually makes sense!

I found the skyrim mountain location myself and It lasted about 3 weeks before being discovered. Then I youtubed hidden locations and the it brought me here I was glad to see it in your list

When I first started playing I used to always get lost and have found a lot of these on accident. I remember wandering around in the woods north of Svet, I stumbled across what looked like just a concrete pad, kinda like a really short runway. It reminded me of a military base but there were no buildings or fences or anything just the long strip of concrete. I'm not sure if it was meant to be there or not, but that was probably five or six years ago and i haven't seen it since. In hindsight I wish I would have taken screenshots...

Me and my friend once stumbled across a water glitch while running toward stary which allowed us to see barrels underwater in a pond (the barrels looked lit up for some reason). We ended up stacked to say the least.

Personally if I ever wish to have a marker of remembrance, I'd like to be remembered as a casket in Novy Sobor church, where I have always liked to build my base OR a cross near moustache house in Rogovo, where I've set up my first base ever (I am rather new player to DayZ SA, from June 2020, but I was interested with this concept since 2013, but as I was too young I could only play Minecraft version of DayZ) OR a little note about my death on a paper in Severograd office building (near fire station), where by helping them defend against a raid we got know each other well.

I think the witch ring may be a refrince to the blair witch because the symble the sticks make looks a lot like those symbles in the blair witch project

hey bro, idk if you still do mythbusters but if so i have 2 myths. First is that the unknown food can has a slight chance to give you kuru, and 2nd is that if you have kuru and go into F11 but dont fire your character will eventually twitch and pull the trigger

Me and another player once found a few barrels stacked full in that little Eagle Nest Cave. We emptied them and moved them to another location and filled them up again 🤣

I've always put gear in ponds or my personal favourite is cutting down a tree and burying the loot at the base of the tree and when the server restarts it covers the dirt. All you have to do to get your gear back is cut down the tree again and dig.

Great vid. One final question remains. Sumrak has mentioned that there is one easter egg in the north of chernarus that no one has found yet, at least publicly acknowledged. I have no idea what or where it is, but it’s awesome that there are still secrets on chernarus.

Best spots to stash stuff are between the pine trees and buses. Look for ones that are grouped together. I’ve dropped 5 crates between a tree and bush and you literally can’t see it from any angle. Store a whole back up kit in there and you’re good to go. Do that at a handful of spots on the map and you’re set to be quickly geared up after your inevitable death.

I know an easter egg that I believe nobody knows about. South of Swarog there is that dark wooden house. Very close to the house in the bushes there is a miniature fenched garden with miniature trees and a green flag. Its like the size of my hand, very cool. I wish I could put a picture of it here. Anyway just look around the nearest bushes.

Does the Cherno industrial one still work? That used to be my stash location until the movement update, I can no longer get across. Before I would just sprint off the edge and it would launch me over. I could JUMP across before, but it was much more difficult to make it. The sprinting off the edge method no longer works, does the jumping method still work?

The devs should start looking into like adding a couple variations of small slow jon boats.

East heading out of severograd is a river leading into the woods that lead to a pond and my friends and I build a makeshift camp there to call home. I miss those days

A friend of mine has a grave in dayz, near the pond by the airfield building NEAF, DocSatan. He passed too young. Great guy.

there is another grave behind NE airfield main building, a couple of small ponds are about 40-50M south, and there's a cross and gravesite there, with a worker's helmet sitting there.

My favourite is a stick shelter base. Build a flagpole in a clump of pine trees and camouflage the stone base with stick shelters. Build wooden crates in your shelters and bury all your real nice gear within the flagpole range. Locks are useless in DayZ. You can't steal what you cant find. LOL

i have always just put crates in water. best way to store your loot. There was a few locations I havent visited, better go wear out some boots on Cerno!

The best place Ive got for a small stash is at 0.19 0.85. There is a cliff there that Ive lived at for the last 8 months.

And still, after all these years, at least 1 stone circle remains unknown ;) No mentions of it anywhere. Probably everyone passed right next to it without ever seeing it. All i'm gonna say is that it's around Plotina Pobeda ;)

The statue north of Balota in the woods is suddenly missing as of 1.23 and I have zero idea why it's suddenly been removed after it being there for years
