I wanted to say thanks for the videos. They have helped a lot. I have never worked on an axle. I was a little scared, but I have tackled this project and it is going well. I found a lot of problems which have caused me to order some extra parts that I was not expecting, but it is working out. Don't know that I would want to do it again, but oh well. Thanks again.
I used a 1 foot long piece of 4 inch schedule 40 pvc plumbing pipe to install the vacuum seal put a board on the end of the pipe and tapped it in place once the axle shaft was in place. The hub bore of the knuckle is exactly 4 inches so the seal drives in there square and even, worked for me in a pinch, did not damage seal at all
Great video, thanks for taking the time to make it. I found the people out in Utah that you were referencing and they are Ventures_Truck_Parts. I found them easily when i went to eBay. they have a huge selection of of Dana and Dana-Spicer parts. We are getting ready to do full ball-joints, seals and hub bearing assemblies change out on my sons truck. Thanks to your mentioning these guys from Utah, you saved me quite a bit of money and gave me a better choice of better quality of u joints and ball-joints. In my opinion you can't get better quality or more heavy duty than Dana parts. I own some semi's and that's all that's underneath them. There's a reason for that. I didn't even know Dana offered ball joints and u joints for our f350s prior to this. Thanks again.
I am rite with you on that. I can't pay somebody to do something I know I can do myself. I like putting my tools to use and getting my ha ds dirty. We are a speacial breed.
I love the video has help a lot but I wish you would have added your removal process because I'm having quit a time trying to remove mine mine is a 2004 f250 everything is the same except for my has what it looks like a built on dust cover which make it hard to try and chisel the seal up off the flange
Great videos !!! Just have one question how do you change out the tube oil seals ?? What all do u need to take out ?? I ve done all the other things just not the oil seals . Thanks.
Great video series. I'm working on my 2002 F250 right now. Did you have the phone number for the Utah company that you bought the Spicer Master Seal Kit from? I think I found it (and I'm in Utah), but wanted to make sure. Thanks again for making these helpful videos.
