YOU CAN KEY ON THE IGNITION AND HIT THE BRAKE THAT PIN WILL DROP WITHOUT USING SCREWDRIVER

For anyone who has had this happen, don't panic!!!! if it has literally just broken off you can just fold the arm up and over and store inside the speedometer cubby as it has a wire connected to the arm. then you need to find and good side screwdriver preferably flat head and you can manipulate the system with it.. use all the gears drive it home if need be... to get key out once you turn ignition off just use the same screwdriver to hold down the bottom electronic contact for a second turn and your key will come out!! feck it, I will try and make a video but it really is very simple ish

I have the same problem ! 02 explorer parked in NYC AAA can’t tow it they said because of the car in front and back of me ? And because it’s not able to go into neutral! But I saw vids of trucks getting cars out of spots in NY . But I’m gonna try to do what you showed . Just concerned about the airbag going off ? Ahh who knows .. ps thank you for the vid and a laugh as well .

Did anyone else find the replacement part 905-104 had two subtle differences that caused problems. The width of the part where gear shift lever is attached via pin is wider thus pin too short. And snap ring groove to the shoulder is shorter distance thus can't get snap ring properly seated when reassembling. All videos I watched end before these two situations come up.

whats is the name of the little metal tab connected to the light blue small box? I accidently moved it off while trying to put the shift coupler back in.

What is that part with yellow paint marker dot called? @0:15. .. some valet guy busted my car up real bad and I have to replace that part too! any help would be appreciated !

Every video I've seen is based on if the whole piece that hooks up to the shifter is broken off and you can just slide the whole thing down and out...in my case only one side of the piece that hooks up to the shifter is broken (the piece that the little pin goes through to hold the shifter in place) and the rest is still not broken off so I can't just slide it down and out. Somehow I have to get the piece that you guys have been hammering off in a socket (back in your garage or on the sidewalk) off while it's still in place on the column in order to pull it up and out. If anyone could please give me some suggestions on how to do that I'd really appreciate it! I have to have it fixed by tomorrow so my wife can go to work. Thanks!

Unfortunately the one I'm fixing is on an incline...and they didn't put the ebrake on..so how the hell can I shift it manualy..or I cant..
