My mom always had Saabs. My first car was an 87 900 turbo convertible. Once I graduated high school I had a 2006 9-3, basically this same car. It was so reliable and nice and good in Maine winters. I wish Saab had made it.
I had a 9_3 SS (for Sport Sedan) as a loaner when my '02 9_3 5-door was in for warranty work. Thought it was a nice car, except I'd hit my head on the A-pillar and it didn't really feel like a Saab. A few years later, I sat in a 9_3 Combi at the Auto Show and remember that it felt more like home. The "utilitarian" comment of a car with leather seats made me laugh. My first Saab, a 1983 4-door base car had cloth seating surfaces, but vinyl everywhere else, crank windows, manual locks, dealer added A/C, and it came with front speakers but no radio or antenna, steel wheels and non-halogen headlights. Now that was utilitarian (and I loved it)! I miss Saab!!!
