Thank you for this. If anyone is having problems with the exhaust or heat shield from the underneath try getting to it from the top by removing the air filter housing. I had my starter replaced today by a mechanic friend. Showed him your vid a few days earlier and then again today, so he could get a good idea. It clicked for him straight away but after he got under the van he said "Oh I think I can get to it from the top as well if I remove the airbox. It might be easier", which he then did. I saw him working BOTH underneath as well as from the engine compartment (he had to lean very far in - almost climb in, lol). He had it all done within 30 minutes (if not 20) and I forgot to mention that it was by the ROADSIDE too.
Just did my starter today, 4 hours and done. Thanks to your video it was quick. The heat shield i took out from the other side of the exhaust pipe. Was hard to get out and in, but i just looked where it was hanging up, and bent the heat shield flared out and it tugged in place, next time it should be easier to get out now that i bent the heat shield enough to clear the starter.
