2004 TOYOTA PRIUS WITH AN INOPERATIVE MULTI-DISPLAY MODULE 

My 2009 Prius just started having this same problem. I thought maybe a bad fuse, until I found this video ... thanks.

I changed my display on my 2005 and it still doesn’t work radio don’t work and climate still says “check the connection of the air conditioner”

The original complaint was for the AC, The TSB is not listed under HVAC or Radio on Shop Key so I wasted some time checking out the HVAC controller before googleing the problem and found the TSB that way. It is listed in Shop Key but it is under the instrument cluster heading. You can buy refurbished units for around $450. I replaced this one with a used unit for around $100.

I just switched out 2004 prius display with 2005 prius display, working great now. only cost me $100 bucks

any programing or initialization or was it plug and play?

This describes my problem with my 2004 Prius with one exception. My display looks and acts just like the one in the video until the radio "shorts" out. I can turn the radio on manually, and after a while the radio will cut off and then both the radio and temperature displays will work just fine. Could this be a problem with the radio connection?

How did you diagnose? just a TSB?

No programming or initializing was needed, just plugged it in.
