Thanks man, I just replaced mine with old oem injectors which were brought on ebay and refurbished through some guys in Cornwall! All in all it costed me £160 and your video saved me £200 ❤ from 29mpg the car has shot upto 49mpg on the dash. Though I know the car computer is not accurate but definitely is showing huge improvement.... Plus the car is more responsive now, it used to struggle on reverse but now it's smooth.. 👍
Did my injectors today and I think it would have been easier to unclip and remove the fuel rail rather than trying to pull them all out with the rail attached. Of course that method would make a huge mess, but I spilled gas everywhere anyway. The injectors were in there good tho... I had to pry the rail up with a screw driver in order to get them out and it's easier than I would like to bend the rail. Got everything back together without leaks and my fuel trims look like they should now (no longer always highly negative). Thanks for the video!
I had a little fuel squirting out from the first injector. After I got Honda to diag what’s really going on, it was GUSHING out from the injector. Had to get my car towed home lol. Turns out the safety clip and o ring were missing!! Wtf! Gonna fix it as soon as the parts come in. So thank you for this video! 👍
Great video and thanks for posting it. I'm having same issues with my 2008 civic...a ticking noise but not constant and shuttering at times. I suspected the fuel injectors, but after watching your video, i'm pretty confident i have the same issue as you. Thanks!
I replaced my fuel pump after I had ran out of gas one day and the car obviously died and stopped running and then after putting gas in it it still wouldn’t start, would fuel injectors go bad because of that situation?
Helpful video! A bit jumpy with the video, but overall well done. If possible, it would be helpful to see you actually remove/insert parts instead of jumping to the completed assembly/disassembly. Maybe on the next one. I realize it would mean more editing, but super helpful to see the challenges during that process.
No I get ya! I invested in a GoPro setup with a head mount so I’ll have both of my hands free for future videos, that’s why I couldn’t show the removal of parts.
George Sims Great tip! Ever since I did this job I’m concerned the oil will cause the o-rings to be too lubricated and eventually wiggle out of place. Hope it doesn’t happen.
Did this fix your engines error code? I did a similar replacement with the refurbished ones and the engine light came back on the second day of driving
I didn’t have any engine codes up when I did this replacement. I had misfiring issues and thought this would fix it but it didn’t lol. I had bad spark plugs causing the misfiring.
I just finished my fuel injector replacement...great video and thanks. I was putting on that white plastic fuel line cover/lock cap, and the thing broke. The fuel line seems secure enough as it's clipped in place on the green retainer clip, but I would feel better with the white cap on it. Any idea what that part number is for that white cap? Can't seem to find it. Thanks
Mine was missing which means previous owner has worked on the fuel rail or injectors. I believe the part number is 16725-RNA-A00 but for some reason shows as doesn’t fit these vehicles on the Honda site I use. I ordered it anyways and will report back on if it fits
So I have found that there are two clips that can fit over the green one. One is the white one (16725-RNA-A00) and a slightly off white/grayish one (16725-RAA-004). The white one did not fit my 2006 Civic but it does look identical to the one in the video. The light gray one did fit mine because my fuel rail has the tab below and not above like the video and thus I couldn’t get it to go around the 90° turn on the rail.
Sorry I wouldn’t know! Honda slightly adjust the design of the engine bay setup once the 2012 civic came out, I would assume the fuel injector placement is the same though.
I found them on eBay but unfortunately they removed their listing so I can’t find them. I’m sure there’s other people on eBay that offer the same service.
kyle griffin I was having shuttering/low power issues and assumed it was my fuel injectors, but that didn’t fix my issue lol at least getting them cleaned and had new filters installed helped the injectors perform better at least.
@@awayfromk Swapped my spark plugs on my 09 civic since Im experiencing hiccups while stopped and jerky acceleration while going 40 mph, was gonna swap fuel injectors but it seems that didnt work for you. Did you manage to find out what was wrong with your civic? Im been reading that it could also be the coils causing the issue.
salvalo22 I did install new spark plugs recently, my car was idling really poorly and even having a flashing CEL - replacing the spark plugs fixed that issue (my plugs were pretty burnt out) My civic now is riding fairly good now, I’m going to do a valve adjustment soon since I’m very overdue for that and I heard that improves engine performance greatly so I would try that for your civic. I tested my coils a while ago and they were fine, they’re still OEM but I also had a mech look at it and said they’re fine too. Are you still experiencing issues with your civic now or did the spark plug change help you? I feel like me changing my spark plugs fixed the shuddering issue I was having or the “hiccup” motion it was doing.
@@awayfromk Replaced the spark plugs as they were in pretty bad shape and thought that was the main problem. Issue went away for a week, now its back. For some reason, dont get a flashing CEL when experiencing the hiccup and my mechanic is not willing to repair anything else until the light turns on. Cleaned the MAF too and no luck. Was reading on the civic 8th gen forums to swap the PCV valve as that could also be an issue and if that didnt work then swap the coil packs but that option is a bit expense even tho they're easy to swap. Did you only experience the hiccup while idling? I feel it sometimes when driving, not sure if its a misfire but recently added some injector cleaner too see if that would help but no luck so far.
salvalo22 salvalo22 Yeah I only had the flashing CEL because my civic was misfiring so badly due to my plugs being so worn out but hey it’s good that’s not happening to you because it’s not good to let your car misfire that badly. I would recommend changing your PCV valve for the hell of it and see if that helps, it’s easy and a cheap install (just have hose pliers at the ready) Sounds odd but how I tested my coils was just buying a new pair, seeing if my issue was fixed or if my car performed better, if not then I knew my OEM ones were fine and I returned the new coils I bought. I experienced the hiccups around 50mph when I would hit the gas, it’s like my engine was shuddering and struggling to accelerate but it was brief. Hopefully you can find a fix, it seems it’s a struggle with 8th gen civic to troubleshoot idling/performance issues.
I have honda civic 2008,my car just stopped on de way was told is brain box,I changed brain box but change light kept blinking I changed plugs it didn't stop I changed nozzles it didn't stop until another electrician came and made it work...now I feel like selling the car cos I feel like the car will give me more electrical problems I need advice
I have idle surge and rpms barely staying above 500rpms. My mechanic said it might be my fuel injectors. Idk what else they could be, he checked all my air flow and hoses for throttle and there were fine.
Maybe check your spark plugs if you haven't already? If so, maybe a bad alternator or battery, I would go to another mechanic to have a deep diagnostic done.
@@awayfromkmy spark plugs were changed recently and are running good, had him hook his scanner up and told me the injectors are giving gas enough when you rev the engine, thats why the rpm dips when you accelerate. Also the battery is 3yrs old and might need changing soon.
@@skradaddy Yeah I would get your battery tested (alternator can be tested at the same time too to see if it's giving correct charge voltage) and go from there. Just to rule out it isn't those two things.
thor thunder if you mean torque specs, there’s a few bolts that are usually 10ft lbs of torque but I honestly would just hand tighten them until they’re snug. If you don’t use a torque wrench properly you risk stripping or snapping bolts.
Changing/cleaning my fuel injectors didn’t solve my initial problem, but I believe it does improve fuel economy a bit if your injectors are cleaned and performing better.
The fuel rail won’t come out is what you’re saying? If so, I would put a long screwdriver under there and see if you can use that to pry it upwards, being slow and careful of course doing so.
I was having misfiring and poor performance issues for a while and just started replacing a few things to see if it would help. Turns out it was just my spark plugs ironically enough, but it was fun to learn how to replace my fuel injectors lol.
Romeo Miguel Gatus what other parts? The only thing I skipped was removing the cowl cover, which I included a video tutorial in the description how to do it. If I included it in my video it would’ve made the overall length too long.
