2006 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9L Cummins Diesel. Replace the fuel injectors, fuel rail, and fuel lines. Have some videos of testing before and after. Ordered from S&S diesel and BD diesel. part numbers below. #cummins #dodge #diesel #injector
Great and informative video. Word to the wise, using a "crows-foot", the opening has to be 90 degrees from the torque wrench for the proper torque. Straight on the torque is actually higher. Side note: If the fuel lines are stainless, they are more forgiving and can be tightened a bit extra for positive sealing.
Yes sir I figured it would be a little less with the crows foot. The online calculator would call for 5 to 15 lbs difference, but everytime you reset the the ratchet it applies difference force. I just tried to keep them as equal as possible and watch for leaks.
Great video / walk through. I am curious, you cleaned the valve cover, but why didn't you clean the lower portion as well (only did injector holes)? (note, I don't have any experience doing this, so honest question) I suspect it is difficult to do (or high risk of making the situation worse). Thanks in advance, I have saved and will watch before I attempt.
This was my first time buying injectors, but I can say S&S was more personable to deal with than exergy. I knew that the previous owner installed Exergy injectors, but when I contacted them, they weren't any help. S&S not only walked me through the testing process to make sure my issue was the injectors, but took the price of testing out of the cost of the injectors. I just choose my brands based off of 5.9l cummins forum suggestions and I wasn't disappointed.
@treyhaberman awesome video buddy, that's cool is that normal for thet setup that boost # is hi i love it, is the waste gate just set low on mine to be at 38 psi I just prob so a smoke test
My remans are at 130,000 miles with each of my fill ups ,I treat my fuel with optilube xpd. How long will these injectors last? Your geuss@@treyhaberman
@babybullsmith001 you can never guarantee how long they will last. I got some diesel algea in my tank from a bad fill up and it made it past my airdog filters. S&s did say I had bad solenoids though. This is my first time using them, so we will see how long they last. Their customer service was great. I can vouch for that.
