I've never seen an information video so perfect. Extremely easy to understand, you cover every point and explain it very well and the duration of the video is just right. I just watched a 34 minute video before coming here and I learned way more and still had time to spare. So I'm spending it to type to you so thank you.
I want to thank you. After watching your video both my fans are now running. But it's still not blowing cold air. At least I'm one step closer to solvng the problem
,👍👏 I'm an old guy I was looking for a video to send my son since I'm not near him right now about the specific subject you're talking about the cooling fans immediately saw your video first and sent it to him I just want to applaud you because I get so sick and tired of watching videos with people that talk about themselves for the half the video then they finally get to the point and don't talk clear and waste my time with a bunch of nonsense and over produce themselves you got to the point crystal clear no BS and quickly I wish every video was like yours again thank you and keep it up awesome video I just noticed after I posted my comment every body below me actually said the same thing 🙂
This video is the reason I was able to route my belt . I had spent all day doing the water pump and dealing with that 8 mm tensioner bolt. I bought a brand new belt made sure it was the same dimensions as the old belt and I couldn't get it on to save my life I had the routing wrong. Started looking for more videos found this one and I was able to get it done because of the shots you took before taking the belt off if it wasn't for you I'd still be outside right now lol Thank you!
Thank you ❤❤I’ll go check my fuses and relays. I just got back from Kansas (1,100mi trip) with running a wire to the AC fan as I didn’t have time to bother checking fuses and all that
So that big relay labeled RAD was keeping my fans on and in turn was draining my battery completely so I guess any time I would try and jump it or connect a fresh battery it would honk. Took my horn fuse out and gave that RAD relay a tap fixed all my problems, thanks for the video
Question, just pulled old condensor fan out and compared it to replacement. Original has the small electrical box just behind the connector but the replacement does not. Everything else matches up. Contacted the parts company to verify but no answer back yet. Any thoughts are help would be greatly appreciated.
A/T radiator fan is larger than the manual radiator fan it’s larger because needed to cool the transmission fluid and engine coolant thus needing a 30 amp fuse vs 20 amp for manual trans I’m no expert it’s just my humble opinion also great video thanks
Good info. However mine just started spining on high. Cars has been sitring for 2 weeks and today they started doing that. Both fans on high cold or hot car. When i turn the key they just start without me turning the engine on... what could it be...noticed the low comdenser pipes turn white when ac not on also. Not sure if that is making the fans do that.
H! Do you have any idea how to test the low and high speed of the radiator fan? Also does the ac/condenser fan have 2 speed? Or only 1 speed? Thank you!
my fan stop turning on and off it used to do so, they both turn on when i have ac on, but do not do anything when ac is off ? what could be issues its 07 civic ex
I have a 2007 Honda Civic. My AC is blowing hot air thru the vents. I checked under the hood and neither fan is working. Just want to make sure that it's okay to take out the relays and switch them while the car is running. Correct?
Hi I have a question. My temperature gauge is fluctuating so I changed the thermostat and bleed the system but during the system bleeding usually the fan turns on which never occurred. But just to activate the fans i switched on th ac and both fans turned on immediately. I believe it's something to do with the rad fan any idea. Would cancel out fan motor or physical fan since both faned turn on when a/c turned on but just no fans turned on during bleeding process any thoughts thanks. Also during bleeding the bubbles stopped and i bleed the system for atleast 15mins
Ok question? New fuse inside the cab and both under the hood. AC condenser fan only runs when fan control relay is partially pushed in. Both fans run at low speed when partially pushed in. Fully pushed in only the radiator fan runs. Ground issue? Both fans knew and all 3 new relays replaced.
my fans only turn on only on high speed and When I turn my A/C on, neither fans spin and the clutch doesn’t spin either. Do you know what my problem may be? Thanks
Hey loved your video. I just want to ask. I have a problem to my honda city. the radiator fan seem running in a low speed while then condenser fan is running at highspeed specially when it reach the 95c temperature.. is this normal? or should both fans works on the same high speed.
I just purchased a new radiator fan and I plugged it in but it doesnt turn on, so that might mean that the fuse inside the car might be blown right.? I'm going to check that out before I move on to the engine fuse and relays box...because it can't be the new fan...maybe the connector attached to the car is no good.? Help please
My daughter just picked up an 08 and we have the opposite problem the fans run as soon as the car starts (cold engine) and they don't stop, any ideas? A/C apparently doesnt work
my rad fan stops working... and when i on the the a/c, still the rad fan not kicking i try to connect the ran fan straight to battery it runs finee then i check the fuse and line connection works fine too I'm confuse what's going onn my ect 1 is newly replace i'm confuse why rad fan not working
Help, My 2006 Civic engine running cold…. I changed radiator hoses, fan relays; thermostat and upper and lower coolant sensors but still having a cool gage.
Once i start my car both fan turn on what could possible causes that?? Plus the ac compressor clutch activated without me turning on the ac. PLEASE HELP
Excellent video. Still Troubleshooting my fans. Both aren't working. All fuses and relays work. About to hardwire the fans to a cordless tool battery. Just wanted to share that this is another important test. I also like the tapping idea. Thanks!
Both fans bench tested and working. Still would not turn on when key is in ACC position. Solution: the AC wasn't working (compressor clutch not spinning), so after charging the AC by adding refrigerant, both fans kicked in. Now that the AC works, both fans turn on when key is in the ACC position.
@@luismonterroso3318 You can add refrigerant when the compressor isn't spinning. Once enough refrigerant goes in, (high side around 5-10 psi) the compressor will kick in. Edit: this is using the AC charging manifold, not sure if it would work using the auto parts store can with a hose.
Hey I changed my radiator but now the radiator won’t stop running But when i turn the car off the fan is stop When i turn the engine on the fan is running crazy Any advance?
My drivers side fan comes on mostly when the ac is on , the passenger side never comes on, and I’ve checked the fuses and relays switched them around and the driver side still comes on. With either relay , so I’m thinking the passenger side is just a bad fan , it does spin tho
Great Video !!! THANK YOU !! I have a question there's one Sensor A the bottom part of The RIGHT side Or Driver's side Fan , What's exactly what it does that sensor ?? If someone wouldn't mind Responding me ??! I APPRECIATE IT !! 👌🏻
My radiator fan is only coming on when my ac is turned on not by itself causing it to heat up could it be one of the relays ? If so how should I check it ?
Thank you for that. I have a honda civic 2008. At times, the aux fan does not work, i switch the relays, both fans will work but it keeps running even when i turn the engine off. I have had it checked with the dealership and they're not sure where the problem is and i was told to buy the whole fuse box assembly. I hope you can help. Thanks
Hello thanks for this video!!! For some reason my car is getting hot because the fans are not coming on I check all the fuses, relays, temperature sensor, fan control sensor and still can get the cooling fan to come on it works when I turn the a/c on but not when it gets hot also both fans turn on not just the condenser fan.
Fans come on only for short time they can come on and off on a hot day ect. It only 1 fan comes on Wen u turn the ac on both come 1 will stay continuously on and the other cycles on an off
Dude. You just helped me figure out why my fans weren't engaging and why it was draining my battery. You've saved me probably hundreds of dollars. Thank you so much!
I love the video thank you . I have an 07 civic dx with non working fans. Heat up the car and no fans at all. I have replaced the entire cooling system minus the heater core. Other then replacing all the fuses I did check if they had resistance and not open. All seemed good. I still get no fan car has hit high temp 2 times now and boiling rad fluid out the rad cap. Mechanic thinks now it is the PCM/ECM for the car. Any ideas what else I can look at. This is the worst troubleshooting I have ever done and still it does not turn on. I am at a loss to figure it out now. I need some other ideas?
When I turn my A/C on, neither fans spin and the clutch doesn’t spin either. Should I still troubleshoot the same way’s by swapping the relays around or is it another problem? My hot air still works though. Thanks for the video!
I have the same issue. However my refrigerant was low. When I topped it up with a recharge kit the AC Clutch now engages. The system has to see a certain pressure there for AC Clutch. However, my two fans don't run still. Still troubleshooting that.
hello i have 2007 honda civic si my condenser fan not working i thought the problem is the relay i change it but still not working but if i direct wire the condenser fan to a battery it works and if i bypass too relay fuse box put wire it works but if you put new relay not working whats gonna be the problem?
my Both fans turn on AC but these does not turn on (At low or High Speed) when AC is not ON and car is overheated to max .... What could be the cause and how to rectify ...? Thanks
Great video mate!, Is really useful, but i have a question, i hope you can solve it. In that honda civic model, for the engine, it has 2 fans, i think the first is the principal fan, for radiator and cooldown the engine, the second fan that is near of the alternator is for the A/C condenser, and exist another fan, knowed as blower, that is inside the cabine, below the glove compartment, and it works when you turn to the rigth the knob of the A/C, and the question is if the fans of the engine must turn on when you turn on the AC?, or only start to work when the tempateture of the engine is high?
@@LehewTech I have replaced the fan, made sure all the fuses/ relays were ok. I probed the wires going to the condenser fan with the ac on and im getting ground but no power. What should I do next?
I checked all the fuses and relays. When I turn on ac the fan and compressor doesn’t kick in. The condenser fan(only fan and not the compressor) was working before I gave my car to the mechanic. But now I have no clue why even the fan won’t turn on. Is there anything I can do?
@@neilmackinnon5573 shouldn't the engine temp recognized by thermostat engage the fans also once at rated temp? I have similar issues, I'm about to check my fuses and relays. But I also know that my readout on the L ac refrigerant like is very low. BUT, in order for accurate reading, the condensor needs to be operating, right?
So for my 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid all fuses/relay were good. I was able to get my AC Compressor clutch turning again by adding some REFRIGERANT but that wasn't the problem. It ended up being the computer under the hood. And it's like 1600 bucks so I had to give up on it. I put in brand new fans. Was thinking maybe I'd wire a switch to them for hot days but I don't have any cooling issues because I replaced radiator as well.
@@neilmackinnon5573 I just finished checking fuses and relays. The driver side fan does work once engine temp gets hot enough. The passenger side fan and ac compressor still won't cut on tho. I think it could be the switch in the dash. Bc the dash button emits, but it doesn't turn on the AC compressor. 🤷🏽♂️
Can i ask something, my radiator fan, doesnt seems to work even its already 9 bars on the temp, but when i turn on the AC they both work, is that normal? Thank you
i also have this problem and my car will slightly overheat but sometimes just goes back to normal temp for a minute before going back up. really looking for a fix
@@LehewTech Good afternoo i have a honda civic 2008 both fan working when i turn on the ac or heating mode only dont work on low speed may i ask why please thank you
Nickole, Cheva, and Mohammad I have the same problem as you all. The fans work when the A/C is turned on, but no fan comes on at full, hot engine, operating temperature. Did anyone get an response or find a solution...??? Thanks!!
@@LehewTech Thanks very much. Yes there is ECT2 on bottom of Rad. So, this being bad would stop engine heat from turning them on..?? Would a bad Thermostat keep hot fluid from reaching this sensor also...?? Thanks again.
A bad thermostat could cause an overheat.. generally speaking if both Radiator hoses get hot then the thermostat is operational. I would start by replacing the temp sensor on the Radiator and making sure that the coolant is topped off.
@@LehewTech Thanks Lehew Tech. How can I test that radiator ECT sensor before changing it out...?? (It's $50) Would a test light on the female plug end connector lighting or a paper clip in that same plug end and the fans going on do it...??? Thanks again
My radiator fans only works when i turn on AC without AC they dont work And car gets Heat to MAXIMUM 🥵. If anyone had the same issue kindly tell me how did you resolve. I changed temperature sensor. Coolent. Thermostat but didn’t works.
I'm having the exact same issue right now I've replaced the coolant temp sensors both of them changed relays fixed the ac so they work when it's on but can't find anything beyond that so must be wiring inside the fan motors or bad wiring to the coolant temp sensor themselves
I have the same issue, fans only work while ac is on. I have changed two temp sensors and the thermostat. Why won’t the fans kick on when the coolant gets hot?
I've also found no issues with wiring so now my last option is to order an actual radiator burbing tank with all the connections because I don't think you can get the air out of a civics coolant system with out it because this system has to pressurize
I actually fixed my issue I changed the engine coolant temp sensors the thermostat an I changed fluid an made sure to get the air out I also bought new radiator cap
Thats a real mechanic richt there with the leatherman plyer You know that man know his shit just by the way he explained stuff in this video good job sir 🫡
Hello! Great information, I hope you can solve my cooling fan speed problem. So i have a Honda 2007 Civic FD1 which has been having overheating issues ever since i picked it up from my friend. I would like to know the stock operation first so i can confirm my cooling system behaviour is good! My car kicks in both fans at HIGH Speed only at 105cdegree temp, is that normal? I was thinking it should start its LOW speed mode around 96cdegrees. Secondly, after a few hours of riding my AC Clutch starts cycling on and off every 10 to 20seconds and fans come on at HIGH Speed when AC clutch engages and turns off completely for merely 2 seconds and then kicks HIGH Speed again, this keeps repeating. Then when does this LOW Speed mode ever work in this car? I checked my friend's CIVIC which did the same above but doesn't overheat during traffic or idle while mine does still. I have been desperately finding a person who can solve this issue. Thank you in advance!
Hi, did you get the answer to your query ? Do you now know the sequence ?..If yes then please share it ..i have the same query for my honda city 2013. Thanks.
That’s what they should do, if you turn on your car at home and leave it running for about 20min, eventually your left fan should turn on by itself to avoid the radiator overheating. Sounds like your car fans are working fine!
Actually that’s not true, both fans should kick on after car reaches a certain temp. Mine won’t kick on and car overheats, but if I turn on the A/C both fans come on. New thermostat, all fuses and relays working.
Fans don’t work at all for me! My checking for relay ground is non existent. Power is good! Seems that an ecu is controlling the ground side but won’t activate at all
