They need to do a class in Colorado like this. The crowd loves these races. It doesn’t matter they are running 16’s or 14’s. It’s so much fun to watch. We have all seen the 10 second races and yes those are fun but there’s nothing like looking at old American muscle in the pure stock looking form.
This racing is 100 times better than street outlaws, cash days, whatever racing. A working man could afford to do this, and have a lot of fun in the process, plus you don’t need $250,000+ for a (basically) pro mod car.
yea the other classes where they look stock but can have strokers, hogged out heads etc just isn't the same to me. I'd rather see them run slower but have them more original then look the part and be heavily modified internally. anyone can throw a bunch of money at a car and have them go faster but it takes real skill to work with what the factory gave you. I know the stock tires make the stroker cars require knowledge to setup so they hook but still, rather see the slower more original cars run.
To be competitive in this kind of racing you would need to chose the right make and model of car with the right motor then spend a lot of time building the motor then spending weeks on a dynamometer.
Good show! I grew up in the "muscle car" era. Big and noisy and loads of fun but my little Benz SLK 350 (6 - 213 cu") is quicker in the quarter or top end. (14.0 and top-end over 160 mph)
Yes it's on bias ply tires and they actually have better traction than say a bf goodrich radial T/A . the old bias ply have square edges and narrow rain channels , there is more rubber on the ground and they have softer compound. I am racing in this video, it's was the best time ever.
