Man people don't know the trophy you have there!!! Amazing condition, low mileage, congratulations!! She's a beauty. I'm going to get myself one hopefully soon with 5k miles. 👌
06 zx10r rider here and I have to totally agree with your response to that bike..it was killer then and in my opinion still is. The throttle to power response is unmatched excellent bike.👍🏽🏁🏁🏁🏁
K5 and K6 will definitely be a collector just as the 98 R1 is already. I've owned 2 of these and regret selling them forsure. Enjoy it they're fantastic bikes and engines
Great video. Thanks for showing us around your K6++. It is quite the machine as you say. Always good to have a slice of another snapshot in time to keep forever.
Peter - as a new motorcyclist, I'd love to hear the story of how and why you learned to ride and what drew you to motorcycles in the first place. Your bike content is really inspiring!
Just picked up this gem today and love it. Cannot believe how good it is even by todays standards, having owned an 09 repsol 1000 and 16 s1000rr. The k6 1000 is just so raw and punchy in the mid range and the ergos are so nice, being 5'3 the seat height allows me to put both feet on the ground, ive never been able to do that and the handle bars arent so low either. For the money its hard to beat, love it. Great vid and thanks for sharing
@@SR22VET-S15 I am bro im skinny af my bike feels a lot faster than it is due to my weight suprisingly I can handle the bike very well and flat foot it and push it around no problem which I was surprised about when I first got it
Absolute gorgeous piece of machine .. congratulations on your purchase .K5/6 definitely on my list next, as these are the fastest 0-60 even till date, I love my 09 hayabusa, but I definitely need a lighter super sport. Either the K5/6 GSXR or old classic Honda CBR 954
This was my 2nd love. My first love and still is is the 2007 gsxr1000 only because I bought the 07 as a left in 2008 as my first liter bike. Then in 2014 I bought my first K6 and rode that for one summer before selling for a small profit. But now I just purchase the 07 gsxr1000 in black and orange. This winter I want to find This same bike and red scheme to add to my new collection. Nice bike bro. She looks minty
Forks and wheels are amazing,, I've ohlins shock and loads of mods K6GSXR,, black low mileage,, keeping it,, and all the stock parts ,, your bike is amazing 😍☘️☘️☘️☘️ from northern Ireland
I 100% commend your taste in bikes and styling! Keep all the warning stickers and the stock licence plate holder, but a true connoisseur will go "WOW"!!
I bought that exact bike brand new in 2006 put that same exhaust on it and a power commander 3. It destroyed everything. I’ve regretted selling it from the moment I handed over the key.
I had a blue and white K6. Was a super quick bike and at the time they were dominating every race around the world. Kind of wish i never sold it but the frame defects put me off.
What a great bike you have! I have Thou K5 and I will never gonna sell it. What a machine. With those mods and only 6k miles on the clock, I think it pretty sure have been track/race use. Or someone really had a lot If extra cash 😊
I did find out the back story on this one. Basically, the original owner had a lot of cash. The story goes: He did one track day, didn't do so well, so some buddies convinced him he needed all these parts to improve his riding. Did a second track day, determined track riding wasn't for him, then just rode on the street for the next few thousand miles. 🤷
I have a 2006 1000, blk,sil/gry color scheme. I'm original owner. Always garage kept, never seen rain. Completely stock with only 1544 miles. I hate to think about ever selling it, but have come close to putting it on market a few times. I don't know what it would take for me to sell it. More so, I have a hard time valuing it's worth. It is a classic and seems few actually know and appreciate it's place in sport bike history. What would people in the know value it at?
I bought one to use in the Isle of Man, still have it. I can tell you the best mod $5 fit a Yamaha R1 throttle tube it opens the throttles faster and when your on it you will not be opening the throttle as quick as this bike needs. Next reduce the wheel weight and this is not easy as Suzuki wheels are light anyway, I fitted $6500 of Whitestone carbon, this improves turning at 120mph+ make it as quick as the 600, braking, acceleration and suspension action so yea expensive and just bling if your not gonna go 120+ on twisties. Dont junk the exhaust or the back pressure valve, this is a full titanium system from stock and you will loose torque without that valve, just listen to that intake snarl. Mine dynoed at 162 and with the carbon wheels was 162Kg wet, thats 1,000BHP per ton, crazy fast comfortable bomb proof missile, what a machine.
Bro, i have the same bike (stock) with only 11k miles on it, stock everything, i´m just to change the solo seat (carbon fiber) and the double bubble wind sheld soon. I bought a R6R 2018 blue 5 arm rear rim, just to change a little the look on the bike (obviously gonna paint it black), just to close the looking on the marchesini style (i have thinking on this mod like a years ago, this is actually my second k6 on red graphics, the first one was 600cc, i got the 1000cc now), anyway, hope to be on touch, watching you on track of this beauty. Cheers from Mexico city
Nice mods,I have a complete stock k6 1000 I just got out my shed after 8 years. It's blue and white ,I'm looking for a left hand fairing as mine has a small crack. Just found out how expensive and hard to find some parts are in Australia.
This bike in stock form had 159hp at the rear wheel, while every thing else like Zx10R,r1 & fireblade had 151hp, just a fun fact if you didn’t know lol
Wow that thing is decked out. Full ohlins suspension is exciting. Ohlins suspension should be soft and float down the road. Its frustrating, I think sportbikes of all brands should only come in the factory race colors and the suzuki white and blue is just to good
Fun fact. The 2006 GSXR1000 still holds the world's fastest 0-60 of any stock production motorcycle at 2.6 seconds. That is faster than the Vmax 1700, H2R and any other you can list. Crazy value for the performance. I went with the 750 because I truly believe it's the best street chassis and power level balance in the market.
I have a 2024 with 900 miles on it and it looks like someone shot the front end with rocksalt loaded in a shotgun with all the paint chips and dings it has. No idea how people keep their bikes looking like this they must not ride. I’ve done Two track days and some road racing and this new gsxr already looks like it has 50,000 miles with less than 1000 on it. Thats what happens in a race environment at 160 mph +
I'm looking at a super clean blue 2006 17,000 miles got him at $6,000 ,whats everyone's thoughts on the milage and price im going to pay? Don't know if anybody will ever answer this but I figured it's worth a try thanks to anybody that does! Ride safe y'all! Great video by the way honestly, and it not only gave me a lot of info but really got me hooked into the bike! Great content!
i paid £6600 for my k6 with 6000 miles on it in the uk, i would try and get it for as low as you can and keep it and never sell it. mine has fully setup suspension, racefit exhaust and ecu flash and it goes as well as any modern bike
There's some proper kit on that. I have just picked up a k6 with lots of goodies too. Nothing as exotic as those forks tho, what do you think they are from? S1000rr maybe? Its a shame u arnt going to use it on track. I would 😂
be interesting to no what the dry weight of this bike is with the lighter wheels and exhaust i believe in stock condition it should weigh 166kg as far as i know there is no other road going 1000cc sports bike that weighs less than 166kg in stock trim the new gsxr 1000 is 202kg you would have to buy something extremely exotic and expensive to find a bike that in standard condition weighs less
Bikes outfitted like this one rarely come around, but if you do see one, it will be well north of $10k USD. If it's less than that, buy it immediately.
Amen my brother it is a beautiful bike I have the exactly the same one he only has $7,000 mi on it that's it or original parts the only thing that I change was I put a slip-on muffler and a power command it is in mint condition and I love my baby I have wrote the new ones from 2023 but nothing is better than a K5 and the k6 I enjoy my baby and I take care of it very well here in Florida but I'm thinking buying the stabilizer that's ready to put on top and the nice customized brakes that you have there too let me know what else you doing on the bike because it will give me ideas God bless you my brother and God bless the whole world 🌍 in the universe Amen Freedom 🇺🇸💜☝️🤟😁🙏😇✝️💟🛐🦾🛡️⚔️🗽🌍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
You may regret taking it to a track day due to the hooigan factor probability of a fairing buster is not zero, not to mention not being set up for you.
