This is a great video! It didn't help me, I'm a career mechanic and the only reason I look at how to videos is to see bolt sizes before I go to the junkyard to grab parts for a car I'm going to work on, so since you didn't show the socket size I didn't get any information from this. But it's certainly a well put together, prepared, and expedient video, all in one take, no long drawn on commentary or shakey unfocust camera, and showing well everything removed. Thank you
Ok! mate just take a hand full of 8 to 18 mm spanners sockets and your good, but being a career mechanic you should be able to look at a nut etc and basically know the size. Just saying you know.
If anyone needs socket size, 14mm and 10mm. Helps to have plastic pry tool, and a thin screw driver for the black and yellow piece. That’s important-gave me hardest time that black and yellow piece. (Eye glass screw drivers wd work well) Also make sure battery is disconnected. Goodluck
Thank you for your step-by-step instructional video on how to replace a Toyota Corolla front (driver-side) seat belt. After watching your wonderful video, I was able to successfully replace my seat belt in one hour. I had to do it because my state vehicle inspection failed due to my driver-side seat belt being frayed for about 6 inches in length. Googled for a similar part online, called a few Reused Auto Parts shops and bought a reused driver-side seat beat for $45 from an Auto-Part shop. At the Auto-part shop, vetted out the reused part by pulling the seat belt forward and retracting it before making a payment. Drove back home, thoroughly cleaned the reused seat belt by soaking it in a bucket of hydrogen peroxide and oxy-clean solution for about a couple hours, brushed the dirt/grime off, dried it off with a clean rag, and let it dry in the sun for an hour. Looked bright and clean like the rest of my seat belts. Then, I was able to remove my frayed seat belt from my Toyota Corolla 2010 and re-installed the second-hand one. Voila! It works well now and am sure it'll pass the state vehicle inspection. (By the way, an OEM Toyota Corolla seat belt costs $322 plus tax and the installation labor cost (2 hours) of $275-300. I could save at least $500-550 by doing it on my own.)
You are welcome my friend and have a good year full of love, joy, happiness, health and progress. May God protect you from all evil and bless you and your family richly 😀😀😀😀
Is the driver's belt of the 2006 toyota yaris crumpled, if I let go of the bolt underneath and put the belt back on without twisting it and then tighten the bolt does it come back straight? Thank you very much!
I bought a second hand replacement... I tried to pull the strap, to see if the cloth was in good condition, but it seems to be locked... Is this normal, will it unlock only when it is plugged in and installed? Thanks for the video...
@@JoseSilva-ep2ww Only with the test will you understand whether or not the seat belt works. Also watch if the seat belt is folded anywhere by pulling it out along its entire length.
My seatbelt is a little bit lazy. It cant wrap itself. I will open plastic parts like in your video. And then i will spray (like wd40 or silicone spray) around green seatbelt part. Do you think it will help ?
Use furniture polish (silicone based) to speed up slow seat belt retractors Materials: *furniture polish *gloves *thick paper towels *sun and or heat : to allow the polish to dry off of the belts, maybe about 1 day *5 minutes per belt, without cleaning them. if you clean them it can easily take 30 minutes per side. Optional: *degreaser for the seat belt to clean prior to applying polish *soap and water instead of degreaser for seat belt cleaning Steps: a) pull the seat belt all the way out, without removing anything from car. b) spray 1 to 2 feet worth of foam on the seat belt, it will soak through the belt. c) release seat belt and pull seat belt back out, 3-4 times to let the polish get squeezed into the retractor assembly. d) wipe off access polish on seat belt, seat belt pivot clip on the b-pillar and the seat belt cover (going down into the seat belt retractor). e) repeat if needed.
great video!!! dude, can you tell me the name of the part that is covering the seat belts, mine broke and i don't know how to search for it. thanks in advance
