My apologies. I haven't been able to respond as I've sold my bike several years ago. ( Never got the issue fixed btw ). I do hope this channel/video thrives on so that those experiencing the same problems, can troubleshoot and fix. 🙏👍🙏👍
If like my 05, adjust the tps sensor, back off both the cold start and idle screws. Go to the cold start screw (smaller one. Tighten it right up to where it just touches the love. A feeler guage works best, then stop. Start the bike and ensure the cold idle valves and cams rotate. If they do the bike should rev up to 2k+. Back the idle screw back down to 2k. Let the bike idle to till temps reach 80 degrees.the valve should fully open an the cam rotates to the low side. Then go to the idle air and just touch the valve arm.and screw it till the bike idles at 1200 rpm
So whoever said check idle air lines. Thanks for the suggestion! That was exactly the issue on my 2017 1000. For reference I too had installed a K&N filter the season before. Not 100% sure its the cause but this extra tiny bit of oil in the throttle bodies potentially clogging things up makes sense to me. 🙂
Just an update. (A very late update). I sold the bike just a week or two after making this video. I never found out what the issue was. Btw, sold the bike for 6200.
@@yakupkose7306 just try to cold idle adjustment your rpm should be 1200~1500, in the video i can see is on 1000 rpm ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3Sxn0TZ-m_Q.html
@@TheMoviesforall It was just the fact that the bike cannot idle correctly until it warms up. The cold weather hit and to fix it, I would hold my throttle open a bit. I would even ride it without ever letting off the throttle (and pulling in the clutch to stop) so that it warms up faster.
@HolleyGsxr I was thinking it would have been fast idle screw or throttle bodies sync but if you've had those things done can't be that only thing I can think of is valve clearance which I dont think it will be or maybe try getting hold of a new ECU which may solve the problem as someone on youtube had this problem and he changed the ECU and said it was fine after that. Only problem with taking it into the shop is they don't have a clue what it is either so it'll be very expensive.
I had that problem and it was the wires going to the engine coolant temperature sensor. My actually wires were cut by a mouse, your could be the wires or the sensor itself. The sensor is on the left side of the bike on the on the engine block in the middle of the bike.
FOUND THE PROBLEM and the solution.....had the same issue with my K9, 750. Vacuum hoses were blocked, take it apart, clean it or even better replace them and that's all. Because of the oil(lube) on the air filter. When mixed with air and water goes into the vacuum hoses and at the beginning comes and goes but when once the bike is cold that dirt is blocking the hoses and basically the bike is not "breading " properly. PS- I had very same, same, same issues. Easy and cheap to fix.
Todd London which houses are you talking about? On the air box? Mine is doing this but bad blue smelly smoke. But oil seems to stay the same. Cleared up as soon as I changed plugs and gas. But now doing it again
send me an email at todd_london@hotmail.com and I'll send you a diagram of what do u need to basically to clean ... the "T" and "Y" connectors on mine were totally blocked . I had the same problem before I clean the vacuum hoses rotten and dark smoke coming out....basically the bike is not " breading " properly . Cheers
GSXR 750 - same problem. Having to rev the bike a little in Neutral till the temp hits around 180 F then idles fine. Not sure of the underlying problem but if you can get it to idle for just a little to keep it warm it helps temporarily.
I had the same problem. 06 gsxr 1000. I changed the plugs, air filter and fuel pump filter. When i reassembled bike, i didnt reconnect all the vacuum hoses. There is a small hose( very small) that goes to the air box. I didnt hook it back up. It goes on the rear left of the airbox. There are 3 hoses that need to be hooked back up on the airbox. Hope this helps anybody with similar issues
@@zestyarreguin3685 not 100 pct sure because its been a year since i did all thst stuff. But the hoses were pretty small. But there are 3 hoses that get hooked back up. I remember when i took the fuel tank back off i almost missed it again. Its that small.
😂 I remember I changed the plugs on my friends 06 1k put everything back together and it wouldn’t stay running, boy I was embarrassed because it looked like I didn’t know was I was doing and low and behold the damn vacuum hose came loose when I was working on it 🤦🏾♂️
I hope this is it. This started happening shortly after I changed my air filter . So do you think that’s the issue I loosened the hose which btw I got no idea which hose lol
wow, I finally found a video of the EXACT same issue i'm having. I have a 2004 Ninja ZX10R, doing EXACTLY the same thing. If I hold the throttle in for a minute or so and keep the RPM's up, that usually does the trick. But I never know when it's going to fire up, or when it won't. This makes me uncomfortable taking a ride anywhere other than local. Did you find out what the issue was? My guesses have been that it has something to do with the Fuel Injector system, or the Spark Plug. But you said that you replaced the Spark Plug.Any info would be appreciated.Thank you mate, J.
Motor is toast.. your getting blow by flowing from crankcase vent tube into your airbox and choking the motor out.. guaranteed your plugs are toast also.
just try to adjust slow idle your rpm should be 1200~1500, in the video i can see is on 1000 rpm ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3Sxn0TZ-m_Q.html
If heard right I didn't hear the fuel pump coming on, please just put the ignition switch on and listen for the fuel pump running for a little while an then it stops. You should put the motorcycle on dealer mode, that should give a code flashing on your bike cluster.
I’m having this issue with my k2, Check shows up but no codes, replaced spark plugs, oil change with new oil filter, brand new throttle body (used). I’m waiting on new coils to come in hoping it fixes the issue.
Let me know if you have it fixed. I have pretty much the same issue. What I do is I have to play with the idle adjustment screw several minutes several times. I did the dealer mode by jumping two pins and it shows no fault errors. I changed air filter and spark plugs so far. Keep me posted.
It's the ICS. Possible code C40, Suzuki had a recall on the k7. It's not TPS or temp sensors. Your ICS is located on the right side of the throttle bodies. Not to be confused with the TPS or STP. DO NOT MOVE THE STP!!!!
Ian James hey man. Got your back if you need some help still. On the right side of your throttle body theres a black box with two connectors on it. The small one with one screw can be adjusted so that it doesnt die. Take your tank off, take your top of the air box off so that you can see the butterfly valves, take that screw off, close the butterfly valves, put the sensor and screw back on and turn the ignition to the on position, and flip the red button. If your BV opens and then closes, you should be good. if it continues to die, replace the TPS. The whole $200 deal onEbay. .
I have a 2014 gsxr-1000. Starts but only runs for about 10 seconds and turns off and won’t start again. I wait an hour does same thing. Can’t figure out. New gas. New battery.
@@deniscarp9637 you may need to reset your ISC (Idle Speed Control) Sensor and change the whole speed control valve as well. You will need a OBD Tool to reset it tho. You can purchase the OBD Tool on the link below. www.sportbiketrackgear.com/healtech-suzuki-gsx-r600-04-17-onboard-diagnostic-tool/
Could this be one of you floats arent seating the needle right. or movng the proper amount and it cause one cyclinder to flood with fuel over so many cycles of the bikes motor? Whats causing it to slowly die once it starts to run, is probably the vac line that helps the fuel to the motor, right?
For those with the same problem, I have a temporary fix for getting around this problem: Rev the throttle just enough to keep it from shutting off and hold.Hold until the engine is warmed (140 F). Let go of throttle and enjoy. I do not advise this method and Im still trying to find a solution. Any mechanics with suggestions?
I'm having the same problem with my 09 r1, unti it shuff and never started after that. I replaced the stator, regulator, sparks and battery still no luck, the injectors are spraying and it's getting spark but not firing up. If I put a little starter fluid it fired up for a sec. Help if you ever got it figured out please.
I have this issue and I do this exact same solution. I rev it a few times until the rev stops going off and it'll idle properly. But I just don't wanna keep doing it this way so I don't know what the problem is really. Had any update?
Been a while and not sure if I'm getting a response but did u end up finding a fix? 07 gsxr 600 doing the same thing, changed plugs and worked fine for a couple of days then back to the same issue. Let's out a weird smell from exhaust as well. Thanks! @craigstreit5283
Hey man... Sorry for such a late reply.. I issue is the throttle control sensor ... TCS. Issue is intermittent. Cold days that's just what the bikes do. I haven't replaced mine of anything. This hole summer season it has not done this to me. It's just one of those things where it will take care of itself and fix itself. Very very common issue with these bike when it get gets cold outside. (40 or below) It got so bad that I had to just my ideal control screw all the way up untel it gets warmed up enough (170 or so), then all of a sudden, my rpm's spikes up to 5k or so cause my idol Screw is way up. Every time I have an issue I would just screw up the idle screw to the point where my bike will stay "on" on it's own . It's weird I know . It's like there's Gunk in there, then it gets hot enough that the gunk clears out and all of a sudden my bike is fine. Revs fine and everything. If it happens again, turn on the bike and hold the throttle and tighten up the idle screw until the bike stays on on its own. It might sound shitty for a bit, but when I gets hotter enough you'll see that your RPMs will spike up . Your rpm's spike up, just you idle screw down till your rpm's is around 12 to 1500. Then turn it off, Then turn it back on and you'll know that everything is back to normal. Nothing is getting hurt and nothing is really wrong when this happens. Just have to go through that phase. I promise you. Anymore questions, let me know. I'll send out my number and we can talk over he phone. Later man
TheArch001 TPS. I just changed mine and it had to be adjusted. Take your tank and top of your air filter off, go to the right side of your throttle body against the frame and you will see a black box. That's the secondary TPS. Theres a little black connector on the tps, take that off, use a small flat head so that the butterfly valves close and put the little black connector back on. It's all head with a singular screw.
Check your stve (secondary throttle valve) I have the same problem and after checking the code thats what I had come up. My stator was also shot so idk if that has anything to add to it
@@nathancollins5822 My Secondary Throttle Valve motor was shot so it wasnt moving the butterfly flaps , it also caused me to burn 2 exhaust valves to almost nothing so If you want to test it. Pull up your gas tank , remove the airbox and then turn on the bike for a second and you should see the top flap in the throttlebodies move, if you dont see them move then it means that the motor isnt working properly.
@@WaterwalkersofAmerica, you are a lifesaver, cuz is was gonna get a motorcycle with the bad stva motor. you can hear the motor go click click. how much was the repair on the motor in parts and was ir hard to do? just in case i can make a lower offer if need be.

Hey man did you get it fixed ? And what was the problem I’m having this issue with my bike right now. I hold the throttle just a lil bit till it gets to about 150 degrees and it stays on please reply
hey whats up bro. I had the same problem with my first bike i just got. i fixed it and then it would turn but not start and then when it got warm would stay on but cut off. what i did was ajust the idler i increased it and i have not had a problem since. the bike idles at about 1.5 rpm and starts right up and stays on. just use a flat head and turn it slowly whiles you have the bike on when it warms up. My bike is a k4 600. my brothers bike was the same and it worked for both of us but his bike is a R1. let me know if you fixed it.
Hey what’s up bro? I will try that for my fz6r. The engine cranks but it sec. On cut off. Oh yeah before it stop starting i experience smoke not a lot but enough to spook me out. Please help!
This problem on my motorcycle, I have a gsxr 600 k7, and it struggles to idle sometimes, mad I have checked lots of thing but don't know what toe look at anymore
Your obviously all just guessing, I'm sure it's your alternator, it's not charging your battery then just slowly turns off. Thank you everyone, I solved the case.
hi i rudy well help u guys fix this im try to work in on of my friends bike the dose same shit and i think is that throthel sensor the one on the carbs cus this one move all the time when im trying to keep it runing but im goint to try all those thing on top first
100% yes if your bike have milage over 25000 KM then yes it will be your Valves cleaning problem. As company claims that you have to clear them after 25000 KM driven.
After instal pc3 and custom remap i have same problem. When weather is cold bike work like 1,2 sec and go off... If i keep throtlle it start normal and every second time when i try to start bike without throtle it start normal. After 1, 2 hours again se problem... Maybe pc3 damaged?
Something else to check is the cold idle screw on the side. I had same problem an some how my nut came loose an idle needle fell out so on cold start wasn't open the throttle body. Just a thought. There is a write up on it about regular idle screw an cold idle screw

@@andrewruddy7578 My issue was the cold. I literally have no problems after I run it for a while keeping the throttle on manually. I suggest even riding it while giving it a little throttle at stops.
I was just lazy to buy a STVA repair.... on ebay search " gsxr stva" its a guy in indiana that once you purchase the $50 item he will email you the address but you just pay to send it to its no more than $12 then he sends it back quickly
its the STVA the motors suck and need repair. mine works fine now but i ride hard and aggressive so FI light comes on when i get hard on it but i just restart bike at stop light... i can make a video for you if you want?
Did you get it fixed? You just need to turn the idle up from the screw on the side of the bike where the throttle wire is. I did it just now, it was so easy I didn't even need to lift the tank or use a screwdriver (FYI I don't have fairings on my bike so you MIGHT need to take those off). I did used my fingers to turn the screw.
