Great video. i like hearing your thought process. My 2013 5.7l tundra was doing the same thing a few months ago. Cleaned the TB twice, MAF, and was problem free up until it died today braking to a stop about 1 minute after starting, then was good for an hour drive. Will try to keep an obd plugged in, but hard to read while driving lol. Sometimes you just have to wait until it gets worse/more often
thanks for the feedback. 1st did it set any codes? 2nd did it start right up after it stalled coming to a stop or did it take a minute to get it started?
My 08 tundra 5.7 the throttle is sticking or eceleraling while driving and when I take my foot off the gas coasting in gear and in neutral any idea the issue it’s like it’s all over the place could it be a sensor or throttle body
Hey man my dads 4.7L 2nd gen with 260k miles does the same thing. Stalls on start up (sometimes) and has low idle, I took the TB out and it was gunked up very badly and it seemed like the idle got better and didn’t stall once the whole winter, just started recently again. Maybe MAF sensor being funny or fuelling issue…
I would start by visually inspecting the MAF elements / and or Cleaning the MAF sensor. Also checking for any pending codes also may lead u to the right direction
Catch can may help. Catch can more for Gas Direct injection engine. I think regular maintenance every 30K Fuel injection/induction cleaning is the best way
