yes very helpful - heading out to check those things to see why my truck won't start - thanks ! update - nope wasn't any of those things - been messing with this today - cleaned battery terminals etc. So after checking the things you mentioned I just hit the clutch pedal hard a few times and let it flip back hard from spring - and truck started ! Must have been the clutch pedal switch either going bad or stuck. Anyway success !
This video totally helped! I was ready to go home from work and my truck wouldn’t start or even make a click. Sure enough I tapped on that starter relay and it started! Thanks!
2005 4.0l V6 2wd Prerunner Double cab Engine cranks but wont start. Recent battery replacement. After fiddling with the relays mentioned in your video, it did start but the next day it didn't. Again, switching relays with the Horn/EFI, good start. The next day no start again. Replaced EFI, C/OPN, and F/PMP relays and it resulted in a good start. The next morning, nada! I don't think it's fuse related, clearly replacing the relays didn't help to permanently fix it. Do you thing the good starts were just a function of wait time between tries, and not the relays? I'm avoiding the elephant in the room, the fuel pump. I have noticed that the fuel gauge accuracy has been off recently.
I know this is an old video but could you possible help me out. I got a 09 5 speed manual 2.7. It has trailer lights and blinkers and break lights worked I turned the running lights on and everything stopped. I tried the trailer with my father's truck all the lights worked. So which fuse do I need to look for? I looked up te diagram and it was useless to me saying it was number 2 30 Amp fuse then it said there was 3 different number 2 30.amp fuses. Please help
My truck has been acting. Sometimes it starts and other times it sounds like the battery is low or dead and won't turn over. But when I check the battery it says it is fully charged and I have already replaced my battery. It is pretty new. Any ideas what is going on? Seems like it could be a loose wire or something going to the starter.
Thanks for this! Any reason why it won’t turn over after replacing the ignition lock/cylinder? Cranks fine but not turning over. Any help would be appreciated.
Is the anti theft light flashing after you stop cranking the engine? If so, hold the old key right next to the new one in the ignition while you crank the engine
Nice Video ! thanks for doing it. I have a question: I was thinking about doing a home made anti theft simple system by using either the fuel pump or stater fuse. What would you recommend?
I would disable the fuel pump.. that way if someone is trying to crank your car in the driveway it will be making noise that you or someone else may hear
@@LehewTech excellent point!! Is there any risk of damaging any electronics if trying to start the engine without the fuel pump fuse? (Aside from depleting the battery)?
I have a very important question and I hope someone can answer it with legitimate answer.. Change neutral safety switch because neutral light was not on causing the 4 will load and not engage.. New safety switches if the switch is in all lights on the - are coming on park reverse neutral drive 4321, comma but now truck does not start. Please give me any advice possible
