Very nice bike, i gutted the pipes on my own bike aswell but used a holesaw and wiggeld for about 10 minutes each and the came clean out, but after a while I became sick and tired of the constant loud noise during long rides so i put the baffles back in and just what potato salad claimes....much more enjoyable on the long run....
Sounds awesome 🤩 Could you explain how to go about this mod? How many plates i need to drill out from behind before the cat! Did you remove the plate from the front which is in front of the cat as well!!
Super sorry for the late reply, you need to drill out a singular plate to remove the front part of the baffle. The big issue comes from the baffle itself being welded in the actual exhaust, so therefore you need to use a slide hammer to remove them. And yes I removed the plate in front of the baffles as well. It was a very labor intensive project so I must warn you!
I have an '08 1600 Nomad. I wasn't about to go through all that work with a hole saw and slidehammer, so I got a nice set of Cobras. Sounds loud, yet refined and definitely tolerable. Love them. Oh, and Dude? Put on some long pants, shoes, a jacket, and a helmet with eye protection. Are you nuts riding a motorcycle dressed like that?
I am absolutely nuts. I didn't go far I never went without gear on a ride just this time for a short video was all haha thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoy that nomad still! I sold this one unfortunately, time to get something a bit bigger!
@@whattheweld9396 - Love my Nomad, but the only gripe I really have is that when I went for my first semi-long run of the season yesterday (60 miles) that rock hard seat about killed my ass and hip. Maybe I'm just out of riding shape after a long winter? But the Cobras sounded awesome!
ouch! I'm glad you haven't seen me on a short trip to get some beer. I'm riding in a tank top, shorts and crocs. The worse part of my comment is that it's true....lol
Nice to meet you, I'm riding a Vulcan 1700 Voyager in Japan. I sent you a message because I wanted you to tell me the name of this muffler. Could you tell me if you don't mind? m(_ _)m
No problems! It's actually the stock mufflers that came on the motorcycle, I modified them myself to take the baffles out. I can go into further detail in a video if you really wanted
