Cobra tri ovals vs Vance and Hines slip ons Kawasaki Vulcan

The Cobra Tri Ovals look terrific. Undeniably better looking than the Vance & Hines dual rounds. Vance & Hines has sound that can't be beat.

Can't beat the look of the Cobra's, but the V&H's sound better. I'm glad I chose the V&H's!

Thanks for the comments all. The sound on the Cobras do seem to have improved over time, however the Vance and Hines still sound throatier.

I had the Tri Ovals on my Voyager and the note does change after some miles on them but the V&h have a deeper note. but the Tri Ovals definable look better.

I have Vance & Hines on my old 2000 Vulcan 1500 and Harley riders are always impressed with the sound . I now ride a 2020 Indian Roadmaster and will also be installing the V&H on it

Tri-ovals look awesome, I really enjoyed them on the Victory Cross Country I demo'd!

I previously had Cobra slashcut slip ons on my Voyager, but when they wore out (rattling baffle in one, bad chrome on both), I've replaced them with Freedom Performance Liberty slip ons. Louder than the V&H, with a very nice deceleration tone (particularly after Ivanizing).

Well, on this particular bike engine (Kawasaki 1700), the Vance and Hines have a superior sound. That is not always the case. I bought those pipes based on this video, and they sound much better in person. Thanks for the video. P.S. Never let your Sams go to waste :)

I think they both sound great ! The vaquero cought my eye about 2 months ago but most of the reviews I read stated they ran hot and aftermarket exhaust creates some kind of ecu issues and had to be flashed ? What is your experience this bike looks awesome

Believe it or not, this video was the one that convinced me to go with the Vance & Hines. Just recently installed them and they sound amazing. No regrets. The Cobras seem to have somewhat of an unpleasant pinging sound to them.

I have the Cobras on my Vaquero and I was hoping for a different outcome but, the V&H sound deeper and throatier.

Of the two. I like the looks of the Cobras better but the sound quality of the Vance and Hines better than the Cobras looks. I must confess however that the stock sound of my 05 Vulcan classic just hit the perfect sweet spot for me.

Is it just the way they're sitting or is the vaquero just that much bigger than the nomad?

There's fundamentally two types of sounds : AAAAARGH or GRUUUUMF. V & H are in the second category. In a way, the GRUUUUMF can be more louder but less disturbating, less agressive than the AAAAARGH. I do have V & H on a 2005 1600D, Nomad. The sound is trully great combined with a K & H air filter. So the choices here are Style or Sound ?

Why do both of them sound like there's something loose rattling around?

I want to do true duals and a carburetor instead of fuel injection, ie stand alone ignition system and a cable throttle set up .

I am liking the deep tones of the V&H. Cobra does have a good look for that Bike. I'm trying to make the same decision for my 01 Yamaha 1100 V-star.

they both sound fantastic. the Tri-ovals are much better looking but the Vance and Hines sound much throatier also the vance and hines are available in Australia and the Tri-ovals are no longer

You can hear the deepness in Vance&Hines way over the cobra, the cobra looks really nice though😎

Cobras not as throaty as I thought they'd be, they definitely look better but the Vance and Hines definitely sounds better.

Aside from exhaust, why does vaquero seem much bigger than Nomad? I thought both are same dimensions, just bought Nomad myself but when i read the specs they both have almost identical dimensions

The V& H's have a deeper tone. The Cobras almost sound like the stock . Having a bike with stock exhaust also would help compare sounds. I Vote V&H

Add Big City Thunder Monster baffles and they will both sound better.

Cobra=looks with a sharper crack. Vance and Hines=deeper, throatier roar.

I vote Cobra !!!!!!!, the Vance and Hines sounds like, there are a few baffles in there. In another Video, I heard a set of Vance and they sounded deeper and had a nice idle. Might be the video camera mic...........Oh well ......

All my cruisee had vance and hines ..even the vtx 1800 that sounds like sawmachime, with vance ,sonds better.😊😊😂
