I saw this video and other showing replacing it in the same manner but then saw another where he puts the vehicle up on ramps and removes the plastic plate to get to it from the bottom. I decided to try that way when I helped my son in-law change it yesterday on my daughters 2013 Rio and took awhile to maneuver through because of the tight space but finally got the bolt to loosen. Anyone else looking to do the job that way, I recommend a tool we didn't have and was about to go look for one until we gave it another try, is a 12mm ratchet wrench with a pivoting head, the longer the handle the better. You may even need to fit a pipe over the handle to give a better extension. Took us about an hour to do but only because the ratchet we were using didn't have the angle we wanted.

Usually you will get a code for knock sensor that will be set in the ecm. . Read by the obd 2 code reader. If you have a bad engine knock sound..it's usually some Thing loose in the engine and that's a big problem. The knock sensor is in a hostile environment with heat grease and oil not to mention gasoline so these can damage the sensor as well as a collision sometimes wrecks them.
